Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention
[0001]The present disclosure relates to a humidifier, and more particularly, to a humidifier including a water softener.
2. Description of the Related Art
[0002]A humidifier is a device that evaporates water to emit humidified air with a high moisture content.
[0003]The humidifier may generate humidified air by evaporating water using natural vaporization, heating vaporization, and ultrasonic vibration.
[0004]Each evaporation method has its own merits and demerits. Natural vaporization has a drawback in that a user is required to frequently clean a humidifying medium after use.
[0005]In the case of vaporization by ultrasonic vibration which involves atomizing supplied water by ultrasonic vibration, the movement of humidified air into an indoor space can be less active, the use of unsterilized air for humidification can lead to unpleasant humidified air flowing into an indoor space, and an ultrasonic vibrator is sensitive to high-temperature heat.
[0006]In the case of heating vaporization, direct discharge of hot humidified air can lead to safety incidents.
[0007]Korean Patent Registration No. KR 10-0158806 discloses a humidifier that heats water supplied from a water tank and humidifies air by ultrasonic vibration.
[0008]Incidentally, the prior art document discloses a structure in which a water heating space and a humidification space are connected together. This can lead to the problem of incomplete sterilization of water if a water heating temperature is kept below a set temperature in consideration of an ultrasonic vibrator.
[0009]Moreover, neither heating nor ultrasonic vibration alone can remove ions contained in water, which may generate humidified air carrying those ions into the indoor space.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0010]Therefore, the present disclosure has been made in view of the above problems, and it is an object of the present disclosure to solve the above-described problems and other problems.
[0011]Even with a water softener placed within a water tank, water may move through a very small space. Thus, if water leaks out after having passed through the water softener, the amount of humidified air generation may be reduced.
[0012]Another object of the present disclosure is to provide a humidifier that generates humidified air from water only when the water has passed through the water softener.
[0013]Another problem is that, if water flows out of the water tank without having passed through the water softener, the water may collect within the humidifier.
[0014]A still another object of the present disclosure is to provide a humidifier that prevents water from flowing out of the water tank without having passed through the water softener.
[0015]Furthermore, there is provided a humidifier that prevents outflow of water by using a double- or triple-layer design for water movement, in a structure where components of the humidifier are put together in various ways.
[0016]An embodiment of the present disclosure provides a humidifier including: an inner tank for storing water; a humidification module disposed below the inner tank, that generates humidified air using water supplied from the inner tank; a water softener disposed inside the inner tank; a supply pipe connected to the humidification module and configured to supply water released from the inner tank to the humidification module; and a connector connected to the water softener and configured to send water that has passed through the water softener to the supply pipe.
[0017]The connector includes: a connector plate disposed below the water softener and within the inner tank; and a connector pipe extending downward from the connector plate and connected to the supply pipe by penetrating the inner tank. The connector includes: an upper sealer disposed over the connector plate and in contact with the water softener; and a lower sealer disposed below the connector plate and in contact with the inner tank.
[0018]The water softener includes a plurality of holes through which water flows on a bottom surface thereof. The plurality of holes formed on the bottom surface of the water softener are disposed inward of an area in contact with the upper sealer.
[0019]An edge wall protruding upward is disposed on a top surface of the connector plate. A lower protrusion protruding downward is disposed on a bottom surface of the water softener. The lower protrusion is coupled to the edge wall.
[0020]The upper sealer is in contact with the lower protrusion.
[0021]A fixing rib is disposed on the top surface of the connector plate, protruding upward and radially spaced apart from the edge wall. The upper sealer is disposed on the fixing rib.
[0022]The lower sealer is in contact with a bottom surface of the inner tank.
[0023]A sealer recess is formed on a bottom surface of the connector plate to receive the lower sealer.
[0024]A packing is disposed around a bottom hole formed to allow the connector to penetrate through the inner tank. The packing is in contact with the bottom surface of the connector plate.
[0025]The connector includes a lower protrusion protruding downward from the connector plate. The lower protrusion is disposed above the connector pipe.
[0026]The lower protrusion has a larger diameter than the connector pipe. The packing is in contact with an outer peripheral surface of the lower protrusion.
[0027]A plurality of protrusions are formed on an upper surface of the packing, which is in contact with the connector plate.
[0028]The connector further includes a connector holder disposed below the inner tank and coupled to the connector pipe. A packing is disposed around a bottom hole formed through the inner tank which the connector penetrates. A top surface of the connector holder is in contact with the packing.
[0029]When the connector holder is coupled to the connector pipe, the connector plate is pressed against the packing.
[0030]The humidifier further includes an outer tank forming a space where the inner tank is accommodated. An outer sealer that contacts the outer tank is disposed on an outer circumferential surface of the connector holder.
[0031]Specific details of other embodiments are included in the detailed description and drawings.
[0032]A humidifier of the present disclosure has one or more of the following effects.
[0033]First, it is possible to generate humidified air from water only when the water has passed through the water softener, by sealing the gap between the water softener and the connector and sealing the gap between the connector and the water tank.
[0034]Second, it is possible to prevent water from flowing out of the water tank unless the water has passed through the water softener. This keeps water from collecting outside the water tank and the humidification module.
[0035]Third, it is possible to minimize outflow of water since a plurality of sealers and a packing are placed between the water tank and other connecting structures.
[0036]The effects of the present disclosure are not limited to the above-mentioned effects, and other effects that are not mentioned may be obviously understood by those skilled in the art from the claims.
