Description
CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION
[0001] The present application claims priority to Korean Patent Applications No. 10-2025-0043578, filed April 03, 2025, and No. 10-2024-0133242, filed September 30, 2024, the entire contents of each of which are incorporated herein for all purposes by this reference.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0002] The present invention relates to a compressor assembly, and more specifically, to a compressor assembly in which an integrated cover can be produced in a single mold and then folded through a plurality of folding lines to cover a compressor, thereby improving the assemblability and productivity of the cover, and a ground line can be assembled and guided to the outside of the cover using a trimming portion of the cover without forming a separate hole in the cover.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0003] In general, an air conditioning (A/C) device for cooling and heating an interior is installed in a vehicle. A cooling system of such an A/C device has a compressor for compressing low-temperature, low-pressure gaseous refrigerant drawn from an evaporator into high-temperature, high-pressure gaseous refrigerant and sending the compressed gaseous refrigerant to a condenser.
[0004] In this case, to prevent noise generated from the compressor from being transmitted to the outside of the compressor, an NVH cover that surrounds the compressor, like a conventional compressor assembly shown in
[0005] Specifically, as shown in
[0006] In this case, each of the sound-absorbing cover 20 and the sound-insulating cover 30 is composed of two parts separated in a left-right direction or vertical direction and has a structure in which the two parts are assembled on both sides of the compressor 10.
[0007] Accordingly, since at least two molds are required to manufacture the sound-absorbing cover 20 and the sound-insulating cover 30 and a considerable number of fastening members are required to assemble the two parts, there is a problem that the productivity and assemblability of the cover are poor.
[0008] In addition, to establish a stable electric ground between the compressor 10 and a vehicle body, the compressor 10 and the vehicle body need to be connected to a ground line, and thus there is a problem that a hole for guiding the ground line from the compressor 10 to the outside of the covers 20 and 30 needs to be separately formed in the covers 20 and 30.
[0009] In addition, after the covers 20 and 30 surround the compressor 10 formed by a casting such as aluminum due to an injection mold, there is a problem that as the covers 20 and 30 additionally vibrates due to a clearance between the compressor 10 and the covers 20 and 30, noise is amplified in a specific frequency (Hz) band.

[0041] In addition, terms to be described below are terms defined in consideration of functions of the present invention and may vary depending on the intention or custom of a user or operator, and the following embodiments do not limit the scope of the present invention, but are merely exemplary matters of components presented in the claims of the present invention.
[0042] To clearly describe the present invention, parts not related to the description have been omitted, and the same or similar components are denoted by the same reference numerals throughout the specification. Throughout the specification, when a certain part is described as “including” a certain component, this means further including another component rather than precluding another component unless especially stated otherwise.
[0043] In addition, components described as “~unit” throughout the specification may be two or more components combined into one component, or one component may be divided into two or more components according to more subdivided functions. In addition, it is obvious that each component to be described below may additionally perform some or all of functions of which other components are in charge in addition to a main function of which each component is in charge, and some of the main functions of which each component is in charge may be performed by being dedicated by other components.
[0044] Hereinafter, a compressor assembly according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to
[0045] The compressor assembly of the present invention includes a compressor 100 and a cover 200 that surrounds the compressor 100 to prevent noise generated by the compressor 100 from being transmitted to the outside of the compressor 100.
[0046] The compressor 100 may include a housing 120, a motor unit, a compression unit, and an inverter unit as schematically shown in
[0047] The housing 120 forms the overall appearance of the compressor 100, and in the present embodiment, the housing 120 is composed of a motor housing 122, a compression housing 124 coupled to one side of the motor housing 122, and an inverter housing 126 coupled to the other side of the motor housing 122.
[0048] The motor unit is provided in the motor housing 122, and provides power for the compression unit to compress a refrigerant. Although not shown, the motor unit may include a rotor coupled to a rotational shaft rotatably installed at the center of the motor housing 122, and a stator fixed to the motor housing 122 and disposed radially outside the rotor. In addition, the stator may include a stator core and a coil wound around the stator core.
[0049] The compression unit is driven by the motor unit to compress a refrigerant flowing into the housing 120. In the present embodiment, the compression unit may be provided in the compression housing 124, and although not shown, the compression unit may include an orbiting scroll coupled to the rotational shaft through an eccentric bush, and a fixed scroll forming a compression chamber in which a refrigerant is compressed along with the orbiting scroll. In this way, since the compression unit is connected to the motor unit through the rotational shaft, a rotational force generated from the motor unit may be transmitted to the orbiting scroll of the compression unit through the rotational shaft. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and it is obvious that a compression unit of another type may also be used.
[0050] The inverter unit is provided in the inverter housing 126 and disposed at a side opposite to the compression unit with respect to the motor unit. The inverter unit is electrically connected to the motor unit and supplies power to the motor unit and controls the operation of the motor unit through power and control signals transmitted from the outside. Specifically, the stator generates an electromagnetic field by the power supplied from the inverter unit, and as the rotor is rotated by the electromagnetic field generated by the stator, a rotational force for driving the compression unit is generated.
[0051] However, the structure and shape of the compressor 100 shown in
[0052] In the present invention, the cover 200 is formed as a single body and folded by a plurality of folding lines to cover the compressor 100. That is, the cover 200 corresponds to one seamless component, and all portions that cover the compressor 100 are folded by the plurality of folding lines while connected. Accordingly, the cover 200 may be produced in a single mold.
[0053] In this way, since the integrated cover 200 is produced in the single mold and then folded by the plurality of folding lines to cover the compressor 100, the assemblability and productivity of the cover 200 can be improved.
[0054]
[0055] As shown in
[0056] The first cover part 210 is disposed to face the front surface of the inverter housing 126 and disposed in a central portion of the cover 200 in the form of an exploded view.
[0057] The second cover part 220 is disposed to cover one side surface of the compressor 100, that is, one side surfaces of all of the inverter housing 126, the motor housing 122, and the compression housing 124, and connected to one side of the first cover part 210. Since the first folding line 201 is provided between the first cover part 210 and the second cover part 220, the first cover part 210 and the second cover part 220 may be folded in a direction toward each other through the first folding line 201.
[0058] The third cover part 230 is disposed to cover the other side surface of the compressor 100, that is, the other side surfaces of all of the inverter housing 126, the motor housing 122, and the compression housing 124, and connected to the other side of the first cover part 210. Since the second folding line 202 is provided between the first cover part 210 and the third cover part 230, the first cover part 210 and the third cover part 230 may be folded in a direction toward each other through the second folding line 202.
[0059] The fourth cover part 240 is disposed to face the upper surface of the inverter housing 126 and connected to the third cover part 230. Since the third folding line 203 is provided between the third cover part 230 and the fourth cover part 240, the third cover part 230 and the fourth cover part 240 may be folded in a direction toward each other through the third folding line 203.
[0060]
[0061] Specifically, one or more first fastening members 300 fasten the second cover part 220 and the third cover part 230, and one or more second fastening members 400 fasten the second cover part 220 and the fourth cover part 240. In the present embodiment, four first fastening members 300 and one second fastening member 400 may be provided, but the present embodiment is not limited thereto, and the number of first and second fastening members may be changed in various ways.
[0062] To this end, first fastening holes 221 and 231 through which the first fastening members 300 pass are provided along perimeters of the second cover part 220 and the third cover part 230, respectively. Specifically, four first fastening holes 221 through which four first fastening members 300 pass are spaced apart from each other along the perimeter of the second cover part 220, and four first fastening holes 231 through which the four first fastening members 300 pass are also spaced apart from each other along the perimeter of the third cover part 230.
[0063] In some cases, the second cover part 220 may have a lug portion provided to protrude from the perimeter in order to form the first fastening holes 221 of the second cover part 220, and the third cover part 230 may have a lug portion provided to protrude from the perimeter in order to form the first fastening holes 231 of the third cover part 230.
[0064] When the second cover part 220 and the third cover part 230 are folded with respect to the first cover part 210 and assembled to cover one side surface and the other side surface of the compressor 100, respectively, the first fastening holes 221 of the second cover part 220 correspond one-to-one to the first fastening holes 231 of the third cover part 230. Accordingly, the first fastening member 300 may simultaneously pass through the first fastening hole 221 of the second cover part 220 and the first fastening hole 231 of the third cover part 230 to fix the second cover part 220 and the third cover part 230.
[0065] In addition, the second fastening holes 222 and 242 through which the second fastening member 400 pass are provided along the perimeters of the second cover part 220 and the fourth cover part 240, respectively. Specifically, one second fastening hole 222 through which one second fastening member 400 passes is provided along the perimeter of the second cover part 220, and one second fastening hole 242 through which one second fastening member 400 passes is also provided along the perimeter of the fourth cover part 240.
[0066] Likewise, the second cover part 220 may have a lug portion provided to protrude from the perimeter in order to form the second fastening holes 222 of the second cover part 220, and the fourth cover part 240 may have a lug portion provided to protrude from the perimeter in order to form the second fastening holes 242 of the fourth cover part 240. In the present embodiment, the second fastening hole 242 of the fourth cover part 240 may be formed in a lug portion 244 provided to protrude from the perimeter of the fourth cover part 240, and the lug portion 244 may be folded with respect to the fourth cover part 240 through the fourth folding line 204.
[0067] When each of the second cover part 220 and the third cover part 230 are folded with respect to the first cover part 210 and the fourth cover part 240 is also folded with respect to the third cover part 230 and assembled, the fourth cover part 240 is adjacent to both the first cover part 210 and the second cover part 220. In this case, when the lug portion 244 is folded with respect to the fourth cover part 240 to overlap the second cover part 220, the second fastening hole 222 of the second cover part 220 overlaps the second fastening hole 242 of the fourth cover part 240. Accordingly, the second fastening member 400 may simultaneously pass through the second fastening hole 222 of the second cover part 220 and the second fastening hole 242 of the fourth cover part 240 to fix the second cover part 220 and the fourth cover part 240.
[0068] As a result, the cover 200 may be fixed in an assembled state by the first and second fastening members 300 and 400. In particular, the first and second fastening members 300 and 400 may be assembled in one direction of the compressor 100, more specifically, in a direction of the second cover part 220 on which a suction port 130 and a discharge port 140 of the compressor 100 are disposed. Accordingly, an operator can easily assemble the compressor assembly without changing the direction of the compressor assembly during the assembly process.
[0069] When the fourth cover part 240 is connected to the second cover part 220 instead of the third cover part 230, the second fastening member 400 needs to fasten the third cover part 230 and the fourth cover part 240, and thus the second fastening member 400 needs to be assembled in the direction of the third cover part 230 unlike the first fastening member 300. Accordingly, after the first fastening member 300 is fastened in the direction of the second cover part 220, the direction of the compressor assembly needs to be changed to fasten the second fastening member 400 in the direction of the third cover part 230, and thus there is a disadvantage that it is cumbersome and takes more time.
[0070] In the present invention, the cover 200 is composed of a sound-insulating material 200a and a sound-absorbing material 200b that is provided on the sound-insulating material 200a and is a different material from the sound-insulating material 200a. For example, the sound-insulating material 200a may be a flexible and repetitively foldable plastic fiber material (e.g., PET FELT), and the sound-absorbing material 200b may be polyurethane (PU) with a stronger strength than the sound-insulating material 200a.
[0071] In this case, the sound-absorbing material 200b is preferably provided at a position other than the plurality of folding lines of the cover 200 and the perimeter of the cover 200. As shown in
[0072] Furthermore, the plurality of folding lines may be formed to be thinner than other portions of the cover 200. That is, the first to fourth folding lines 201 to 204 may be formed in the form of grooves. Accordingly, the cover 200 can be folded well even with a small amount of force.
[0073] According to an embodiment, a fifth cover part 250 for covering between a high-voltage connector 150 and the low-voltage connector 160 of the compressor 100 may be additionally coupled to the fourth cover part 240. In this way, it is possible to reduce an area in which the compressor 100 is exposed to the outside as much as possible, thereby effectively suppressing radiated noise.
[0074] On one side surface of the compressor 100, the suction port 130 for suctioning a refrigerant into the compressor 100 is provided, and the discharge port 140 for discharging the compressed refrigerant to the outside of the compressor 100 is provided. Accordingly, a port penetrating portion 224 through which the suction port 130 or the discharge port 140 passes may be formed on the second cover part 220.
[0075] In addition, the compressor 100 has a plurality of mounting lugs 170 for fixing the compressor 100 to a vehicle body. Accordingly, a plurality of mounting lug penetrating portions 225 and 235 through which the plurality of mounting lugs 170 passes may be formed on the second cover part 220 and the third cover part 230.
[0076] In addition, the compressor 100 has a pressure relief valve (PRV) for relieving pressure by discharging a refrigerant to the outside when an internal pressure of the compressor 100 is excessive. Accordingly, a valve hole 226 through which the PRV (not shown) passes or through which a fluid discharged from the PRV passes may be formed in the second cover part 220.
[0077] As described above, the first folding line 201 and the second folding line 202 are formed on both edges rather than a central portion of the inverter housing 126. When the folding line is formed on the central portion of the inverter housing 126, the sound-absorbing material 200b is not provided around the folding line, and thus the sound-absorbing material 200b is not provided in the inverter part having the greatest influence on radiated noise, which is very disadvantageous for sound-insulating performance.
[0078] In addition, to establish a stable electric ground between the compressor 100 and the vehicle body, the compressor 100 and the vehicle body need to be connected by a ground line 500, and when the folding line is formed on an edge of the inverter housing 126, a trimming portion provided on the folding portion may be used as a passing-through and assembly space for the ground line 500 of the compressor 100. Accordingly, there is an advantage that a separate hole for the ground line 500 does not need to be formed in the cover 200.
[0079] Hereinafter, the assembly of the ground line 500 using the trimming portion and the structure for guiding the ground line 500 from the compressor 100 to the outside of the cover 200 will be described in detail.
[0080] The trimming portion is present to ensure that the folded portion can be easily separated from a mold after the integrated cover 200 is produced in the single mold. That is, the trimming portion is not processed separately after the cover 200 is manufactured, but is formed during the manufacturing of the cover 200.
[0081] The trimming portion is formed between cover parts disposed adjacent to each other with one of the plurality of folding lines of the cover 200 interposed therebetween. In the cover 200 of the present embodiment, a first trimming portion 260 is formed between the first cover part 210 and the third cover part 230, and a second trimming portion 270 is formed between the first cover part 210 and the second cover part 220.
[0082] In the present embodiment, since the first trimming portion 260 is used for assembling and guiding the ground line 500, the first trimming portion 260 is formed to be larger than the second trimming portion 270. In addition, as shown in
[0083] As shown in
[0084] Thereafter, the ground line 500 assembled and grounded by the ground bolt 600 needs to pass through the first trimming portion 260, to be guided to the outside of the cover 200, and connected to the vehicle body. In this case, the ground line 500 is preferably guided toward the side surface of the compressor 100 since it is particularly connected to a chassis ground of a vehicle.
[0085] To this end, the first trimming portion 260 extends to a position facing at least a part of the side surface of the inverter housing 126 of the compressor 100 when the cover 200 is assembled. That is, the first trimming portion 260 extends from the front surface to the side surface of the inverter housing 126.
[0086] Accordingly, the ground line 500 assembled by the ground bolt 600 may be extended from the front surface to the side surface of the inverter housing 126 inside the cover 200 and then guided to the outside of the cover 200 through the first trimming portion 260 positioned on the side surface of the inverter housing 126. That is, the ground line 500 may be extended to the side surface of the compressor 100 inside the cover 200 and then guided to the outside of the cover 200 rather than guided from the front surface of the inverter housing 126 to the outside of the cover 200 and then extended to the side surface of the compressor 100. Accordingly, the ground line 500 may be protected by the cover 200 as much as possible and may extend the shortest distance until connected to the vehicle body outside the cover 200.
[0087] In particular, in the present embodiment, the first trimming portion 260 extends in an L shape from a position facing the side surface of the inverter housing 126 to a position facing the front surface thereof. Accordingly, as shown in
[0088] In addition, the cover 200 may have a catch part 280 protruding so that the ground line 500 may be caught. In the present embodiment, the catch part 280 is provided on the perimeter of the fourth cover part 240 and is formed only of sound-insulating material 200a. The catch part 280 protrudes in an L shape from the perimeter of the fourth cover part 240 so that the ground line 500 may be temporarily fixed to an inner groove.
[0089] In particular, the catch part 280 may be formed to protrude from a portion of the fourth cover part 240 adjacent to the first cover part 210. Specifically, the catch part 280 is formed on an edge of the fourth cover part 240 on which the lug portion 244 and the fifth cover part 250 are not formed, that is, an edge facing the first cover part 210. Accordingly, when the fourth cover part 240 is connected to the first cover part 210 instead of the third cover part 230, there is a disadvantage that the catch part 280 cannot be formed.
[0090] As a result, when the compressor assembly is manufactured and moved in a state in which the compressor 100 and the cover 200 are assembled and the ground line 500 is assembled to the compressor 100 by the ground bolt 600, as shown in
[0091] Next, a compressor assembly according to another embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to
[0092] The compressor assembly of the present embodiment also includes the compressor 100 and the cover 200 that covers the compressor 100, and, since only the cover differs from that of the compressor assembly shown in
[0093] Even in the present invention, the cover 200 is formed as a single body and folded by a plurality of folding lines to cover the compressor 100.
[0094] As shown in
[0095] In addition, the cover 200 is composed of the sound-insulating material 200a and the sound-absorbing material 200b that is provided on the sound-insulating material 200a and is a different material from the sound-insulating material 200a. In this case, the sound-absorbing material 200b is provided at a position other than the plurality of folding lines of the cover 200 and the perimeter of the cover 200.
[0096] In the present embodiment, the sound-absorbing material 200b has at least one protrusion 700 so that at least one area of the cover 200 is thicker than other areas thereof. The protrusion 700 is formed integrally with the sound-absorbing material 200b.
[0097] In this case, the protrusion 700 protrudes to be in contact with and interfere with the compressor 100 when the compressor 100 and the cover 200 are assembled. That is, the sound-absorbing material 200b is compressed by interfering with the compressor 100 by the protrusion 700 in at least one area of the cover 200. Since the sound-absorbing material 200b is formed of polyurethane (PU) or a similar material that may be compressed and contracted, the protrusion 700 of the sound-absorbing material 200b is compressed by being in contact with and interfering with the compressor 100 when assembled. In this way, due to a compressive force of the sound-absorbing material 200b, the cover 200 and the compressor 100 are in close contact with each other to eliminate the occurrence of a clearance therebetween, thereby reducing additional vibrations of the cover 200 when the compressor 100 is driven and achieving a stable and excellent noise reduction.
[0098]
[0099] When the sound-absorbing material 200b is formed with a thickness that has the protrusion 700 in all areas, the cover 200 may be opened, and thus the rigidity of the fastening member needs to be increased. Accordingly, the protrusion 700 is preferably disposed only on a specific area of the cover 200.
[0100] In the present embodiment, the protrusion 700 is provided as a plurality of protrusions, and the plurality of protrusions 700 are disposed on the second cover part 220 and the third cover part 230, and are particularly disposed on the second cover part 220 and the third cover part 230 to face each other. That is, the plurality of protrusions 700 disposed on the second cover part 220 are symmetrical with the plurality of protrusions 700 disposed on the third cover part 230.
[0101] Specifically, in the present embodiment, the plurality of protrusions 700 include a first protrusion 700a, a second protrusion 700b, and a third protrusion 700c that are disposed on the second cover part 220 and also include a fourth protrusion 700d, a fifth protrusion 700e, and a sixth protrusion 700f that are disposed on the third cover part 230. In this case, during assembly, the first protrusion 700a and the fourth protrusion 700d are disposed to face each other, the second protrusion 700b and the fifth protrusion 700e are disposed to face each other, and the third protrusion 700c and the sixth protrusion 700f are disposed to face each other.
[0102] In the second cover part 220, it is preferable that at least one of the plurality of protrusions 700 is disposed on an area facing the inverter housing 126 and an area facing the compression housing 124, respectively. In the present embodiment, the first protrusion 700a is disposed on the area facing the compression housing 124, and the second protrusion 700b and the third protrusion 700c are disposed on the area facing the inverter housing 126.
[0103] As described above, the perimeter of the second cover part 220 has the plurality of first fastening holes 221 through which the plurality of first fastening members 300 for fastening the second cover part 220 and the third cover part 230 pass, and the single second fastening hole 222 through which the single second fastening member 400 for fastening the second cover part 220 and the fourth cover part 240 passes.
[0104] In this case, in the second cover part 220, the plurality of protrusions 700 are adjacent to or overlap a virtual straight line A connecting two first fastening holes 221 positioned on opposite sides with the sound-absorbing material 200b interposed therebetween or a virtual straight line B connecting the first fastening hole 221 to the second fastening hole 222 in a width direction. Accordingly, when the fastening members 300 and 400 are assembled, a fastening force can be applied to the protrusion 700 so that the protrusion 700 can be effectively compressed.
[0105] Specifically, in the present embodiment, the first protrusion 700a overlaps the virtual straight line A connecting two first fastening holes 221 positioned on opposite sides with the sound-absorbing material 200b interposed therebetween in the width direction, the second protrusion 700b is adjacent to the virtual straight line B connecting the first fastening hole 221 and the second fastening hole 222 positioned on opposite sides with the sound-absorbing material 200b interposed therebetween, and the third protrusion 700c overlaps the same virtual straight line B in the width direction.
[0106] In addition, one of the assembly protrusion 820 and the assembly hole 840 may be provided on the perimeter of the first cover part 210, and the other of the assembly protrusion 820 and the assembly hole 840 may be provided on the perimeter of the second cover part 220 or the third cover part 230. In the present embodiment, two assembly protrusions 820 are provided on the perimeter of the first cover part 210, and the assembly holes 840 into which the assembly protrusions 820 are inserted are provided in each of the second cover part 220 and the third cover part 230.
[0107] Accordingly, since the cover parts are additionally fixed by inserting the assembly protrusions 820 into the assembly holes 840 in addition to the fastening member, the noise reduction effect can be increased through the increased adhesion strength of the cover 200 to the compressor 100.
[0108] According to the present invention, since the integrated cover is produced in a single mold and then folded through the plurality of folding lines to cover the compressor, the assemblability and productivity of the cover can be improved. Ultimately, the assemblability and productivity of the compressor assembly are improved.
[0109] In particular, since the plurality of folding lines can be formed to a smaller thickness than other portions of the cover, and furthermore, can be formed of a plastic fiber material (e.g., PET FELT) that can be repeatedly folded and can also serve as a sound-insulating material, the cover can be easily assembled.
[0110] In addition, since the fastening members for fixing the cover after assembling the exploded view of the cover can be assembled in one direction of the compressor, the operator can easily assemble the compressor assembly without changing the direction of the compressor assembly during the assembly process.
[0111] In addition, since the ground line can be assembled and guided to the outside of the cover using the trimming portion of the cover, there is no need to form a separate hole or the like in the cover.
[0112] In addition, since the sound-absorbing material is formed thickly in a specific area, the compressor can be firmly fixed when the cover is assembled by using the interference of the sound-absorbing material. That is, since the sound-absorbing material interferes with the compressor and is compressed, the clearance between the compressor and the cover can be suppressed to reduce additional vibration of the cover when the compressor is operated, thereby achieving the stable and excellent noise reduction effect.
[0113] In addition, the noise reduction effect can be increased by improving the adhesion strength of the cover toward the compressor by fixing the cover parts with the assembly protrusion and the assembly hole in addition to the fastening members.
[0114] It should be understood that effects of the present invention are not limited to the above-described effects and include all effects inferrable from the configuration of the invention described in the detailed description or claims of the present invention.
[0115] The present invention is not limited to the above specific embodiments and descriptions, and those skilled in the art to which the present invention pertains can make various modifications without departing from the gist of the present invention claimed in the claims, and such modifications are within the scope of the present invention.
