Description
[0001]Latin name of the genus and species of the plant claimed: Calibrachoa hybrida.
[0002]Varietal denomination: ‘CBRZ0057’.
BACKGROUND OF THE NEW PLANT
[0003]The present invention comprises a new Calibrachoa, botanically known as Calibrachoa hybrida, and hereinafter referred to by the variety name ‘CBRZ0057’.
[0004]‘CBRZ0057’ is a product of a planned breeding program. The new cultivar has medium sized red-peach flowers with a red eye, is early flowering, has a mounding plant habit, and is moderately vigorous.
[0005]‘CBRZ0057’ originated from a hybridization made in October 2020 in a greenhouse in Gilroy, California. The female parent was an unpatented commercial variety ‘Cabrio Eclipse Pink’ with light pink and dark pink petals, medium sized flowers, and is early flowering.
[0006]The male parent of ‘CBRZ0057’ was a proprietary plant known as ‘CBRZ0048’, U.S. Plant Pat. No. 36,450, having a medium orange flower colour with dark orange eye, has a more spreading plant habit, and is late flowering.
[0007]The resulting seeds were sown in January 2021 and ‘CBRZ0057’ was selected as one flowering plant within the progeny of the stated cross in June 2021 in a controlled environment in Gilroy, California.
[0008]The first act of asexual reproduction of ‘CBRZ0057’ was accomplished when vegetative stem cuttings were propagated from the initial selection in-July 2021 in a controlled environment in Gilroy, California.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF INVENTION
[0009]Horticultural examination of plants grown from cuttings of the plant initiated in the summer of 2021, and continuing thereafter, has demonstrated that the combination of characteristics as herein disclosed for ‘CBRZ0057’ are firmly fixed and are retained through successive generations of asexual reproduction.
[0010]‘CBRZ0057’ has not been observed under all possible environmental conditions. The phenotype may vary significantly with variations in environment such as temperature, light intensity, and day length.
[0011]A Plant Breeder's Right for this cultivar was applied for in Canada on Oct. 2, 2024, No. 24-11843. ‘CBRZ0057’ has not been made publicly available prior to the effective filing date of this application, notwithstanding any disclosure that may have been made less than one year prior to the effective filing date of this application by the inventor or another who obtained ‘CBRZ0057’ directly from the inventor.
[0012]The following traits have been repeatedly observed and are determined to be basic characteristics of the new variety. The new cultivar has medium sized red-peach flowers with a red eye, is early flowering, has a mounding plant habit, and is moderately vigorous. The combination of these characteristics distinguishes this Calibrachoa as a new and distinct variety.

DETAILED BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION
[0016]The aforementioned photographs were taken in September 2024 in Monroeville, NJ.
[0017]The measurements and observations were made in October 2023 in Gilroy, California on plants grown outdoor in 35 cm containers. Plants were about 16 weeks of age.
