A driveline lubricating composition for electric or hybrid-electric motor systems including a phosphorus antiwear additive and a multi-functional oil-soluble organolmolybdenum friction modifier to provide friction modification and low copper leaching.

A lubricating oil composition configured for lubricating an internal combustion engine fueled with an alternative fuel having an auto-ignition temperature greater than about 700K. The lubricating oil composition includes at least a detergent system including at least one overbased metal-containing sulfonate detergent, at least one neutral to low-based metal containing sulfonate detergent, and at least one overbased metal-containing phenate detergent where the metal provided from the overbased sulfonate detergent is correctly balanced relative to the total detergent metal and/or the composition total base number.

Described herein are fuel performance additives suitable for renewable diesel, renewable diesel including such additive, methods of improving the demulsiliblity of renewable diesel using fuel performance additives, and the use of a fuel performance additive to improve the demulsiliblity of renewable diesel. The fuel performance additive includes a quaternary ammonium salt and an alkoxylated alkyl phenol formaldehyde resin demulsibility agent.

A method of reducing or inhibiting fouling deposit formation from liquid hydrocarbons within an anaerobic environment. The method includes a liquid hydrocarbon and an antifouling composition combined to reduce or inhibit deposits when the liquid hydrocarbon is heated to temperatures of about 100° C. or greater in an anaerobic environment. The antifouling composition includes one or more linear or branched alkali or alkaline earth metal salts and/or one or more nitrogen-containing alkenyl succinimides.

The disclosure relates to methods of operating transmissions and for providing bearing pitting protection and a passing static friction performance according to Caterpillar TO-4 SEQ 1221 in a transmission including lubricating the transmission with a transmission fluid composition comprising: greater than 50 wt. % of a base oil of lubricating viscosity; an amount of one or more overbased calcium sulfonate detergent(s) to provide from about 2000 ppm to about 5000 ppm of calcium; an amount of one or more zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate compound(s) to provide from about 700 ppm to about 1500 ppm of zinc; and an amount of one or more molybdenum-containing compound(s) to provide from about 5 ppmw to about 300 ppmw molybdenum, and the one or more molybdenum-containing compound(s) is selected from the group consisting of molybdenum dithiocarbamates, molybdenum phosphorodithioates, organomolybdenum complexes, molybdenum dialkyldithiophosphates and mixtures thereof. The disclosure also relates to the compositions used in these methods.

This disclosure describes detergent-free and low-ash lubricating composition achieving piston cleanliness with one or more succinimide dispersants, one or more ashless antiwear additives, and one or more antioxidants when selected ratios of sulfur, phosphorus, and nitrogen are maintained.
