The present invention provides means and methods for delivering a predetermined volume of a substance, within at least one body cavity of a subject, comprising a predefined volume for containing the predetermined volume of the at least one substance; a delivery end for placement in proximity to the body cavity; the delivery end comprises at least one orifice of diameter D [mm]; a valve mechanically connectable to the container, characterized by at least two configurations: (i) an ACTIVE CONFIGURATION in which the valve enables delivery of predetermined volume V sub [ml] of the substance; and, (ii) an INACTIVE CONFIGURATION, in which the valve prevents delivery of the predetermined volume V sub [ml] of the substance from the container to the body cavity; and a fluid tight chamber configured to contain predetermined volume V gas [ml] of pressurized gas at a predetermined pressure, P gas [barg].

A dispensing closure ( 40, 40 A, 40 B) for a fluent substance-containing system, such as a container, includes a body ( 54, 54 A, 54 B) for receiving the fluent substance from the system, and a pivotable actuator ( 60, 60 A, 60 B) assembled with the body ( 54, 54 A, 54 B). The actuator ( 60, 60 A, 60 B) has a back region ( 116 ) opposite its outlet end ( 132 ) and having a central cam element ( 150, 150 A, 150 B) for frictionally engaging the closure body ( 54, 54 A, 54 B) to maintain the actuator in an open, dispensing position. The actuator back region ( 116 ) further includes at least one rib ( 160, 160 A, 160 B) located adjacent to the central cam ( 150, 150 A, 150 B) to resist movement of the actuator ( 60, 60 A, 60 B) into the open, dispensing position. The rib ( 160, 160 A, 160 B) has an initial configuration and a permanently deformed configuration after movement of the actuator ( 60, 60 A, 60 B) into the open, dispensing position.

A dispensing closure ( 40, 40 A, 40 B) for a fluent substance-containing system, such as a container, includes a body ( 54, 54 A, 54 B) for receiving the fluent substance from the system, and a pivotable actuator ( 60, 60 A, 60 B) assembled with the body ( 54, 54 A, 54 B). The actuator ( 60, 60 A, 60 B) has a back region ( 116 ) opposite its outlet end ( 132 ) and having a central cam element ( 150, 150 A, 150 B) for frictionally engaging the closure body ( 54, 54 A, 54 B) to maintain the actuator in an open, dispensing position. The actuator back region ( 116 ) further includes at least one rib ( 160, 160 A, 160 B) located adjacent to the central cam ( 150, 150 A, 150 B) to resist movement of the actuator ( 60, 60 A, 60 B) into the open, dispensing position. The rib ( 160, 160 A, 160 B) has an initial configuration and a permanently deformed configuration after movement of the actuator ( 60, 60 A, 60 B) into the open, dispensing position.

A TPE valve ( 20, 20 A) includes a head ( 125, 125 A) with a central axis ( 43 ) and has an interior surface ( 130, 130 A, 132, 132 A, 133, 133 A), an exterior surface ( 134, 134 A), and at least one self-sealing slit ( 140, 140 A). The valve ( 20, 20 A) includes a peripheral attachment portion ( 120, 120 A) spaced laterally from the head ( 125, 125 A) and an intermediate portion ( 124, 124 A) extending laterally from the head ( 125, 125 A) to the peripheral attachment portion ( 120, 120 A). The intermediate portion ( 124, 124 A) has an interior surface ( 126, 126 A) and an exterior surface ( 127, 127 A). The interior surface ( 130, 130 A, 132, 132 A, 133, 133 A) of the head ( 125, 125 A) and the interior surface ( 126, 126 A) of the intermediate portion ( 124, 124 A) intersect at a first circular line of intersection ( 150, 150 A). The exterior surface ( 134, 134 A) of the head ( 125, 125 A) and the exterior surface ( 127, 127 A) of the intermediate portion ( 124, 124 A) intersect at a second circular line of intersection ( 154, 154 A). The first circular line of intersection ( 150, 150 A) and the second circular line of intersection ( 150, 150 A) are spaced an axial distance no greater than about 0.30 millimeter.

A dispensing closure ( 40 ) with non-frangible tamper evidence features includes a body ( 54 ) having a locking pin ( 68 ) with an initial configuration and a locking configuration moved relative to the initial configuration when engaged by a portion of a container ( 44 ) or a spout ( 60 ). The closure ( 40 ) includes a lid ( 56 ) connected to the body ( 54 ) and is movable between an initially closed position, an open position, and a subsequently closed position returned from the open position. The lid ( 56 ) has an aperture ( 94 ) and a tamper evidence tab ( 96 ), wherein, in the initially closed position of the lid ( 56 ), the locking pin ( 68 ) is located in the locking configuration and the tamper evidence tab ( 94 ) is retained beneath the locking pin ( 68 ). In the subsequently closed position of the lid ( 56 ), the tamper evidence tab ( 94 ) is rotated laterally outwardly into the aperture ( 94 ) to indicate evidence of tampering to a user.

A dispensing closure ( 40 ) with non-frangible tamper evidence features includes a body ( 54 ) having a locking pin ( 68 ) with an initial configuration and a locking configuration moved relative to the initial configuration when engaged by a portion of a container ( 44 ) or a spout ( 60 ). The closure ( 40 ) includes a lid ( 56 ) connected to the body ( 54 ) and is movable between an initially closed position, an open position, and a subsequently closed position returned from the open position. The lid ( 56 ) has an aperture ( 94 ) and a tamper evidence tab ( 96 ), wherein, in the initially closed position of the lid ( 56 ), the locking pin ( 68 ) is located in the locking configuration and the tamper evidence tab ( 94 ) is retained beneath the locking pin ( 68 ). In the subsequently closed position of the lid ( 56 ), the tamper evidence tab ( 94 ) is rotated laterally outwardly into the aperture ( 94 ) to indicate evidence of tampering to a user.

A device for delivering a predetermined volume a substance within a body cavity. The device includes: at least one predefined volume sized and shaped to contain a predetermined volume the substance; a delivery end in fluid communication with a container; and at least one valve mechanically connected to the container and configurable between an active configuration in which the valve enables delivery of a volume of the substance and an inactive configuration, in which the valve prevents delivery.

A valve ( 100 ) includes a base ( 110 ) defining a central axis ( 114 ). The valve ( 100 ) includes a post ( 118 ) connected to the base ( 110 ) and extending axially outwardly from the base ( 110 ), in the direction along the central axis ( 114 ). The valve ( 100 ) includes at least one flow aperture ( 122 ) in one or both of the base ( 110 ) and/or the post ( 118 ). The valve ( 100 ) further includes a flexible membrane ( 126 ) having an orifice ( 130 ) and having a non-dispensing configuration wherein the orifice ( 130 ) is located proximate to the post ( 118 ) to minimize communication through the valve ( 100 ). The flexible membrane ( 126 ) has a dispensing configuration wherein the orifice ( 130 ) is moved away from the post ( 118 ) for establishing communication through the valve ( 100 ).
