In accordance with embodiments disclosed herein, there are provided methods, systems, mechanisms, techniques, and apparatuses for traffic aggregation on multiple Wide Area Network (WAN) backhauls and a distinct Local Area Network (LAN) network; for traffic load balancing on multiple WAN backhauls; and for performing self-healing operations utilizing multiple WAN backhauls serving a distinct LAN network.

In accordance with embodiments disclosed herein, there are provided methods, systems, mechanisms, techniques, and apparatuses for traffic aggregation on multiple WAN backhauls and multiple distinct LAN networks; for traffic load balancing on multiple WAN backhauls and multiple distinct LAN networks; and for performing self-healing operations utilizing multiple WAN backhauls serving multiple distinct LAN networks. For example, in one embodiment, a first Local Area Network (LAN) access device is to establish a first LAN; a second LAN access device is to establish a second LAN; a first Wide Area Network (WAN) backhaul connection is to provide the first LAN access device with WAN connectivity; a second WAN backhaul connection is to provide the second LAN access device with WAN connectivity; and a traffic aggregation unit is to form a logically bonded WAN interface over the first WAN backhaul and the second WAN backhaul. In some embodiments an optional traffic de-aggregation unit may be used.

In accordance with embodiments disclosed herein, there are provided methods, systems, mechanisms, techniques, and apparatuses for traffic aggregation on multiple Wide Area Network (WAN) backhauls and multiple distinct Local Area Network (LAN) networks; for traffic load balancing on multiple WAN backhauls and multiple distinct LAN networks; and for performing self-healing operations utilizing multiple WAN backhauls serving multiple distinct LAN networks. For example, in one embodiment, a first Local Area Network LAN access device is to establish a first LAN; a second LAN access device is to establish a second LAN; a first Wide Area Network WAN backhaul connection is to provide the first LAN access device with WAN connectivity; a second WAN backhaul connection to provide the second LAN access device with WAN connectivity; a management device is communicatively interfaced with each of the first LAN access device, the second LAN access device, the first WAN backhaul connection, and the second WAN backhaul connection; and the management device routes a first portion of traffic originating from the first LAN over the first WAN backhaul connection and routes a second portion of the traffic originating from the first LAN over the second WAN backhaul connection.

For example, in one embodiment, a first Local Area Network (LAN) access device is to establish a first LAN; a second LAN access device is to establish a second LAN; a first Wide Area Network (WAN) backhaul connection is to provide the first LAN access device with WAN connectivity; a second WAN backhaul connection is to provide the second LAN access device with WAN connectivity; and a traffic aggregation unit is to form a logically bonded WAN interface over the first WAN backhaul and the second WAN backhaul. In some embodiments an optional traffic de-aggregation unit may be used.

Described is a method for performance estimation of a communication device. The method comprises: executing active probing to determine active probing data; reading operational data which includes data related to channel and its noise condition, latency and counter values related to user data traffic between the communication device and another communication device, wherein the operational data is relevant to the current settings of the communication device; and training a performance estimation algorithm for the communication device according to the active probing data and the operational data.

Presented are methods and systems for a software agent in an AP to recognize a service type used by a wireless communication station and optimize the wireless communication network's operation. Methods comprise acquiring communication status from a communication apparatus that may comprise a wireless communication station, a wireless LAN, wired LAN, and/or a broadband connection; learning a classifier that maps the acquired communication status to service types by analyzing historical communication status; and recognizing the service type of a wireless communication station by inputting a current communication status to the classifier. The recognized service type may be used to diagnose the operation of communication networks and stations coupled to the AP and to optimize the operation of such communication networks and stations.

Various embodiments describe communication systems for implementing high-speed transmission systems using waveguide-mode transmission over wires. In certain examples, a communication system uses wire pairs as “waveguides” that transmit data at high frequencies and speeds. The data is transmitted through wave propagation that takes various forms, such as surface waves and Total Internal Reflection (TIR) waves.

Described herein are systems and methods of for measuring and assuring performance in networked applications where edge computing is utilized, which may comprise determining or improving network and computational performance by the use of edge probing. Edge probing enables rapid measurement and assessment of networking and computational performance, where performance comprises speed latency, for a device using an edge compute node. Edge probing can be used to assess performance of and assign converged networking and computing infrastructure to applications and devices.

Described is a method and system for connectivity diagnostics in communication systems. The method comprises: querying a first communication device at a first time and a second time to determine whether a second communication device is connected to the first communication device and to determine a value of an operational parameter at the first and second times; and determining the second communication device disconnected from the first communication device based on detecting the second communication device was connected to the first communication device at both the first time and the second time, and detecting the value of the operational parameter at the second time is inside a range of threshold values. In one embodiment, the method comprises determining a link is unstable for connectivity based on connection duration, number and/or pattern of connection and/or disconnection events, and/or traffic activity during connection and/or disconnection events.

Embodiments of the present invention provide systems, devices and methods for improving the performance and range of wireless communication systems. In various embodiments, a wireless and wireline architecture is implemented to allow a channel to more efficiently span physical barriers within the channel. The wireline portion of the channel may leverage pre-existing copper deployed within a building by interfacing copper with north and south transceiver nodes that allow the signal to propagate through a physical structure on the wire itself resulting in significantly less signal degradation compared to the signal having to traverse the physical structure wirelessly.
