A method of activating an x-ray source includes monitoring a patient's breathing using a depth camera aimed at the patient and detecting cyclical peaks in depth data provided by the depth camera. The x-ray source is activated at a predetermined time based on the detected cyclical peaks in order to capture a radiographic image of the patient at a peak inhalation time.

An x-ray imaging system includes an x-ray source assembly having a transmitter and a video camera. A free standing digital radiographic (DR) detector includes a receiver, wherein the transmitter and receiver are configured to determine an spatial orientation of the digital radiographic detector relative to the x-ray source assembly. A digital display presents a live video image of a patient with a current position of the DR detector overlayed on the video image of the patient. A DR detector having built-in AEC sensors may display the current position of each of the AEC sensors in the overlay relative to the DR detector position based on the determined orientation of the DR detector. Each of the AEC sensors are individually activatable, and an AEC selection interface is configured to receive an operator selection of one or more of the AEC sensors to be activated.

A long-length imaging method based on digital radiography, and an image processing system and a computer-readable memory medium to implement the method. According to one respect of the invention, the long-length imaging method based on digital radiography comprises the following steps: A. determining a part of interest of an anatomy of an object; B. determining imaging parameters of digital radiography based on the part of interest, the imaging parameters at least including a plurality of specified positions of imaging components, wherein the plurality of specified positions are configured to make X-ray images captured at the plurality of specified positions by the imaging components include the part of interest of the anatomy of the object; and C. generating a long-length image in relation to the part of interest of the anatomy of the object based on the X-ray images at the plurality of specified positions.

A radiographic imaging system provides a digital x-ray detector embedded in a patient bed. A patient lying normally on the bed either flat or at an angle, is positioned above the digital detector. A frame assembly is attached to the bed under the patient and movably secures the digital detector. The frame assembly includes motorized control configured to move the digital detector in the x-y plane of the detector according to commands transmitted by system operators or by automatic system instruction.

A flexible digital radiographic detector assembly includes a flexible sleeve enclosing a photosensor array supported by a flexible substrate. Integrated circuit readout electronics are coupled to the photosensor array. The digital radiographic detector assembly communicates with a local computer system or with a cloud server to transmit image data captured in the photosensor array, to display the image data on a screen, and to analyze defects that may be present in the image.

A digital radiographic detector includes a planar multilayer core having a two-dimensional array of photo-sensitive cells. An enclosure comprises first and second shells connected together using a rail configured to be secured to at least one of the first and second shells. The rail is attached to at least one of the shells using screws.

A distributed radiographic imaging system is formed using a radiographic imaging apparatus having a radiographic energy source and a digital radiographic detector, a first computer system, and a second computer system. The components of the distributed imaging system are communicatively connected. The radiographic imaging apparatus and the first computer system wirelessly communicate when they are in a predefined proximity with each other. The second computer system determines if the radiographic imaging apparatus is currently being used in an exclusive imaging session and, in response to an exclusive session request, transmits a session approval token to the first computer system and to the radiographic imaging apparatus if the radiographic imaging apparatus is not currently being used in an exclusive imaging session. The first computer system and the radiographic imaging apparatus establish an exclusive communication and control session in response to receiving the session approval token.

A modular digital radiographic detector is constructed to have a housing for receiving and securing detector components. One or more removable and interchangeable modular detector components maybe swapped with an identical component or a replacement version of the removed modular detector component. Compartmental openings are formed in the housing and include electrical connectors for integrating one or more replacement detector components into the detector's communication system.

Selective projections from a digital tomosynthesis image acquisition may be used to select one or more regions of interest therein, and identify regions that are not of interest and which may be excluded. The non selected regions may be deleted from the digital tomosynthesis image acquisition and only the selected regions of interest within the digital tomosynthesis image acquisition are rendered and projected.

A machine learning network is trained to generate a noise field image from a radiographic (x-ray) image. The training includes accessing a number of previously acquired radiographic images, duplicating the previously acquired radiographic images, and conditioning each of the duplicated images with simulated noise content to form a plurality of simulated low-exposure images. Each of the simulated low-exposure images is paired with its corresponding previously acquired image to form a learning pair. The machine learning network is trained to generate a noise field image using the learning pairs of images. A noise suppressed image of an object can be generated by applying a scaling factor to at least a portion of the corresponding noise field image and combining the scaled noise field image with a current captured image of the object.
