Battery energy storage system and methods for electrically isolating a plurality of battery cells from an interface port are disclosed. In one example, a method comprises measuring an electrical parameter on a DC bus to which the plurality of battery cells are electrically coupled. An individual battery cell electrical parameter is determined using the electrical parameter and a quantity of the battery cells. Based at least on comparing the individual battery cell electrical parameter to a predefined threshold, the plurality of battery cells are electrically isolated from the interface port.

Presented herein are systems, devices, and methods for providing electrical power. A system can include a power source configured to provide at least a subset of electrical power to an electrical bus. The system can include an inverter coupled with the power source and the electrical bus, the inverter configured to convey the electrical power between at least the power source and the electrical bus. The system can include a voltage controller coupled with the inverter. The voltage controller can be configured to generate, responsive to an initiation of synchronization between the inverter and the electrical bus, an inverter command to enable phase locked loop (PLL) control on the electrical power. The voltage controller can be configured to modify, responsive to a completion of the synchronization, the inverter command to disable the PLL control on the electrical power.

Systems and apparatuses include one or more processing circuits comprising one or more memory devices coupled to one or more processors, the one or more memory devices configured to store instructions thereon that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to: monitor power electronics parameters; compare the parameters to a hardware protection threshold; activate software protection of the power electronics when the parameters are less than the hardware protection threshold; and activate hardware protection logic of the power electronics when the parameters are greater than or equal to the hardware protection threshold.

Presented herein are systems, apparatuses, devices, and methods for deactivating high power converters and inverters in shutdown and fault events. An apparatus can include an inverter electrically coupled with a power supply. The inverter can provide electrical power from the power supply. The apparatus can include an output contactor electrically coupled with the inverter and with a load. The output contactor can pass the electrical power from the inverter to the load. The apparatus can include a controller having at least one processor coupled with memory. The controller can detect that the output contactor is off. The controller can perform, responsive to the detection, a removal of residual heat from the inverter. The controller can determine whether a temperature of the inverter is not below a threshold from performing the removal. The controller can execute at least one fault countermeasure in accordance with the determination.

Presented herein are systems, devices, and methods for parallel control. A device can receive a first power signal corresponding to electrical power convey via an electrical bus, the first power signal comprising a power and at least one of a first voltage or a first frequency. The device can identify a change in the first power signal greater than a threshold. The device can generate, from the first power signal, a second power signal using at least one of a second voltage or a second frequency associated with the change, wherein the second voltage or the second frequency is different from the first voltage or the first frequency, respectively.

A vehicle includes an engine to receive a cracked gas mixture. A cracker of the vehicle can receive ammonia and energy, crack the ammonia to form the hydrogen gas and a nitrogen gas, and convey the hydrogen gas to the engine. A controller for the vehicle can receive a predefined route for the vehicle. The controller can predict a future load demand of the vehicle based on the predefined route. The controller can adjust a flow rate of ammonia delivered to the cracker based on the future load demand.

A piston head assembly includes a piston head including an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion includes an outer wall and an inner wall disposed radially inward of the outer wall. A cooling gallery is at least partially defined between the outer wall and the inner wall. The extends downward from the upper portion. The lower portion includes an upper surface and a skirt extending from the upper surface. The skirt defines a pin bore centered around a pin bore center axis. A portion of the skirt between the pin bore center axis and a skirt reference axis has a curved vertical profile. The skirt reference axis intersects the pin bore center axis. The piston head assembly includes a plurality of lock plates coupled to the upper portion. Each lock plate extends between the outer wall and the inner wall.

Systems and apparatuses include a non-transitory computer readable media having computer-executable instructions embodied therein that, when executed by a circuit of a power system, causes the power system to perform functions to activate and deactivate routes. The functions include determining a plurality of source objects, each including source functions and being assigned a position on a one-line topology; determining one or more switch objects including switch functions and assigned a position on the one-line topology; determining one or more bus objects including bus functions and assigned a position on the one-line topology; determining one or more load objects including load functions and assigned a position on the one-line topology; and allocating each object to one of a plurality of controllers, each of the controllers structured to cooperatively perform the source functions, the switch functions, the bus functions, and the load functions to provide operation of the system.
