An internal combustion engine is provided, including at least one crankcase, at least one oil pump, at least one oil filter, at least one oil circuit, at least one control valve, and at least one device for separating particulate contaminants from a fluid flow, in particular for separating contaminants from the crankcase of the internal combustion engine, this fluid or oil flow to be purified having at least one containment for receiving the contaminants.

A method for operating a hybrid drive train includes ascertaining an actual state vector of an internal combustion engine of the hybrid drive train; ascertaining a target power of the internal combustion engine; determining a target fuel mass flow for the internal combustion engine as a function of the target power of the internal combustion engine; determining a limit fuel mass flow of the internal combustion engine as a function of an emission limiting value, the target fuel mass flow, and the actual state vector of the internal combustion engine; determining a setpoint fuel mass flow by forming a minimum value as a function of the target fuel mass flow and the limit fuel mass flow; and setting the setpoint fuel mass flow at the internal combustion engine.

An internal combustion engine, in particular, a diesel internal combustion engine, including a cylinder crankcase ( 1 ), at least one oil return collection groove ( 2 ), at least one oil drain ( 3 ), in which depressurized oil ( 4 ) discharges in the direction of the oil pan, following gravity, and at least one cylinder ( 5 ) is provided.

An oil return valve for a crankcase ventilation system of an internal combustion engine is provided that is essentially situated in the crankcase ( 3 ) and includes a valve cylinder ( 1 ) and at least one valve pipe ( 2 ).

An internal combustion engine is described, including at least one starter ( 1 ) having a starter transmission that is situated at the opposite end of the crankshaft or at the same end to transfer the rotation of the starter ( 1 ) to the crankshaft, the starter ( 1 ) being situated at the crankcase ( 4 ) of the internal combustion engine and the starter ( 1 ) being inserted into a receiving hole ( 7 ) and being situated in a fastenable manner at the crankcase ( 4 ) with the aid of at least one screw ( 2 ), and a holder ( 5 ) being situated at the starter ( 1 ).

A method is for generating a cylinder crankcase including a foreign object inclusion for cast reduction and for the improved cleanliness of the generated component. The cast material is in particular removed or pushed from the areas between the tie-rods ( 2 ) below the water jacket ( 1 ), to avoid dirt input into the component during later engine operation. The areas below the water jacket ( 1 ) between the tie-rods ( 2 ) are designed as a separate tie-rod core ( 3 ), and the bolts ( 4 ) used during later installation at the water jacket core ( 5 ) are enclosed in the tie-rod core ( 3 ), so that the tie-rod core ( 3 ) is completely surrounded by cast material in the component following the cast and the bolt ( 4 ) has coalesced with the cast, and the tie-rod core ( 3 ) remains in the generated component and is located in an encapsulated space generated by the cast material.

An internal combustion engine includes a crankcase in which a crankshaft is rotatably mounted in bearings including bearing covers, to which at least one connecting rod carrying a piston is linked. The piston is movable in a cylinder covered by a cylinder head forming a combustion chamber and gas exchange valves are arranged in the cylinder head, which are actuated by at least one camshaft, which is connected to a gear train gear wheel situated on the crankshaft via a differential gear. A mass differential gear including two balance shafts is present. The mass differential gear is situated in a gear frame and attached to the crankcase below the crankshaft and driven by a mass shaft drive gear situated on the crankshaft, which is arranged axially essentially next to the gear train gear wheel/idler gear. The gear train gear wheel/idler gear is arranged on the main bearing cover.
