Each of the plurality of cameras ( 250 ) is arranged at a position that is higher than the first work spindle ( 110 ), and is lower than a ceiling in the machining area so that a machining point of the workpiece, where machining by the tool takes place, is included in a shooting view field of the camera.

An information processing device that generates a fluid discharge path for discharging fluid into a machine tool to move chips includes: a detecting unit for detecting a first input signal for a first position on an image of the inside of the machine tool, a second input signal for a second position on the image of the inside of the machine tool, and a third input signal on a plurality of discharges; and a display control unit for performing control to display the first position, the second position, a third position, and a fourth position superimposed on image data obtained by imaging of a target area on the basis of the signals detected by the detecting unit, the third position and the fourth position being corners different from the first position and the second position among four corners of a quadrangle having a diagonal being a line connecting the first position and the second position.

A machine tool includes a camera fixed to a predetermined imaging area and for imaging a tool inserted into the imaging area, a tool holding portion to which a tool is attachable, and a machining control portion for controlling the tool holding portion in accordance with a machining program and machining a workpiece with the tool. The machining control portion moves the tool toward the imaging area after rotating the tool to image the tool.

An additive manufacturing apparatus includes a laser head configured to perform additive manufacturing on a workpiece, a first support unit configured to support one side of the workpiece in a direction along a predetermined axis and rotatably support the workpiece with respect to the predetermined axis, a second support unit configured to support the other side of the workpiece in the direction along the predetermined axis and rotatably support the workpiece with respect to the predetermined axis, a drive unit configured to move the second support unit along the direction along the predetermined axis, a first detection unit configured to detect a physical quantity correlated with torque applied to the drive unit, and a control unit. The control unit executes a process of controlling the drive unit during at least one of additive manufacturing on the workpiece and cooling of the workpiece such that the physical quantity detected by the first detection unit approaches a predetermined target value.

Methods and systems for testing a material quality executed by a computer numerically controlled machine include a carrier plate coupled to a first tool holder of the computer numerically controlled machine, the carrier plate including a first test specimen formed of an additive manufacturing material, a testing tool coupled to a second tool holder of the computer numerically controlled machine, the testing tool including a specimen interface, and engaging the first test specimen with the specimen interface of the testing tool. Relative movement between the first and second tool holders causes the testing tool to execute a first test toolpath relative to the first test specimen, during which is obtained a first set of test data indicative of mechanical properties of the first test specimen.

A workpiece processing method includes performing additive manufacturing for a first region of a workpiece; and performing additive manufacturing for a second region of the workpiece, the second region being smaller in width than the first region. The performing additive manufacturing for the first region includes positioning an additive-manufacturing head and the workpiece relative to each other so as to make a distance between the workpiece and a laser beam emitter in the additive-manufacturing head equal to a first distance. The performing additive manufacturing for the second region includes positioning the additive-manufacturing head and the workpiece relative to each other so as to make the distance between the workpiece and the laser beam emitter in the additive-manufacturing head equal to a second distance that is smaller than the first distance.

A machine tool includes: a movable body that supports a tool; a feed drive unit that feed-drives the movable body; a numerical control unit that controls the feed drive by the feed drive unit to perform cutting by the tool; an acceleration sensor that is provided on the movable body and detects acceleration of the movable body; and a command unit that outputs a stop command to stop driving of the feed drive unit to the numerical control unit when the acceleration of the movable body exceeds a threshold value set in advance on the basis of an output of the acceleration sensor. The command unit sets the threshold value to a first threshold value in a cutting control state, and sets the threshold value to a second threshold value lower than the first threshold value in a feed control in a non-cutting control state.
