Some embodiments include a touchscreen device (e.g., a projected capacitive sensor) with non-orthogonal U-drive and V-sense electrodes that intersect at an acute angle, θ. The touchscreen device includes a rectangular touch sensitive area with horizontal edge of length W and a vertical edge of length H. Some embodiments include a controller coupled to the touchscreen device that transmits signals via N drive channels, where N is an integer, where the N drive channels are communicatively coupled to P U-drive electrodes, and where P is an integer greater than or equal to N. Members of a subset of the P U-drive electrodes communicatively coupled to one of the N drive channels, intersect mutually exclusive sets of the V-sense electrodes. Motivated by signal-to-noise ratio considerations, values of acute angle, θ, are chosen such that signals corresponding to the drive signals traverse path lengths that are less than W plus H.

Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for a cloud-based point-of-sale system and a multi-function point-of-sale (POS) device. In an embodiment, the POS device includes an interactive display that switches between a first position oriented towards and for use by an operating clerk, and a second position oriented towards and for use by a customer. The POS device is able to detect the switch between the first position and the second position. A processor in the POS device outputs a first graphical user interface (GUI) on the interactive display in response to detection of the first position and a second GUI in response to detection of the second position. In an embodiment, the components of the POS device are combined together in a unified assembly.

Embodiments include a method and system for projected capacitive (PCAP) touchscreen construction with laser ablation. In glass/film/film (GFF) PCAP touchscreens, the films are coated with indium-tin-oxide (ITO), patterned by printing silver ink, and by ablating both the ITO and silver with a laser. A similar process occurs for a glass/glass (2GS) PCAP touchscreen. Embodiments include varying the pattern with which the laser ablates ITO on film within the touch area to improve touchscreen sensitivity. For example, by varying the width of patterns of floating ITO islands such that widths are less than or equal to a plan-view electrode gap between vertical and horizontal electrode pads and larger elsewhere, the touch sensitivity of the PCAP touchscreen may be improved and/or maximum touchscreen size may be increased.

Techniques for providing multi-user multi-touch projected capacitive touch sensors are disclosed herein. Some embodiments may include a method that includes receiving a first sense signal from a first sensing array, the first sensing array configured to provide the first sense signal indicating a first touch on a first touch surface of a touch substrate as well as receiving a second sense signal from a second sensing array, the second sensing array configured to provide the second sense signal indicating a second touch on a second touch surface of a second touch substrate occurring concurrently to the first touch. The method may further include determining whether the first touch and the second touch share at least one anti-ghost. The method may also include associating the first touch and the second touch with a common touch entity in response to determining that the first touch and the second touch share the at least one anti-ghost.

The present invention relates to a method for operating a self-service shopping system. The method includes: identifying a product code on a chosen product; determining whether the chosen product has an alterable tag; if the product code on the chosen product is identified and the chosen product is determined to carry a tag, altering the tag on the chosen product; and when the product code on the chosen product carrying altered tag are identified again, allowing the user to reduce the number of the chosen product carrying the altered tag through an interactive interface of the self-service shopping system or store staff. In addition, the present invention also relates to a self-service shopping system. The self-service shopping system includes an identification module, an analysis processing module, an altering module, and a feedback module. The method for operating a self-service shopping system and the self-service shopping system according to the present invention can improve the user experience and the anti-theft reliability.

Method, apparatus and computer program product embodiments are provided for distributing and installing content and settings on client devices without receiving any user input at the client devices, which limit usage of the client device a user at the client device to a first set of the usage activities. A device controller may remotely configure and control client devices by providing instructions and content for distribution to the client devices. The instructions may cause the client devices to install the content on the client devices without requiring any user input to initiate the installation or during installation of the content. The client device may be further configured to allow management of the client device by the device controller.

A secure conferencing device operating in a host or a guest mode. In host mode, the secure conferencing device coupled to an interactive digital signage (IDS) device, grants conference control to a host computer of the IDS device. The secure conferencing device receives a guest control signal and a guest video stream from a guest device, where the secure conferencing device prevents the guest control signal from being communicated to the host computer, yet transmits the guest video stream to the host computer for display on the IDS device. In the guest mode, the secure conferencing device grants conference control to a guest device, enables the guest device to affect a component of the IDS device, but does not enable the guest device to communicate guest control signals to the host computer of the IDS device.

A location of contact with a touch sensitive device is determined. Output signals associated with a plurality of electrodes such as formed on a single layer of the touch sensitive device are measured to identify a first electrode positioned at an approximate location of contact with the touch sensor. An output signal associated with a different electrode that is separated from the first electrode is measured to determine an undesired signal amount, such as due to deflection. An undesired single amount associated with the first electrode may be estimated based on the undesired signal amount measured at the other electrode. The signal amount measured at the first electrode is then compensated by the estimated undesired signal amount. The location of contact with the touch sensor is then determined based on the compensated signal amount.

The present disclosure relates to an illumination apparatus, an illumination system and an illumination control method. The illumination apparatus comprises: a first light emitting assembly configured to generate a first radiated light having a first color temperature and a first light intensity, wherein the first light intensity is adjustable; a second light emitting assembly configured to generate a second radiated light having a second color temperature and a second light intensity, wherein the second light intensity is adjustable and the second color temperature is lower than the first color temperature; and a third light emitting assembly configured to generate a third radiated light having a preset color and a third light intensity, wherein the preset color and the third light intensity are adjustable; wherein a color temperature of a radiated light generated by the illumination apparatus is configured to be adjusted by adjusting at least one of the first light intensity and the second light intensity.
