The invention relates to a method for filling a mesh hole in a mesh of a 3D digital model. A boundary of the mesh hole is provided by a first closed boundary curve comprising boundary edges connecting boundary vertices of a first plurality of boundary vertices. The method comprises selecting a maximized triple of boundary vertices comprising a first, a second and a third boundary vertex. The selected maximized triple is maximized by selecting a boundary vertex of the first plurality of boundary vertices as the third boundary vertex of the selected maximized triple. The selected maximized triple satisfies a first criterion. The first and the second vertex of the selected maximized triple are connected using a connecting curve from the first to the second boundary vertex.

Disclosed is a method for replacing first three-dimensional digital tooth models by second three-dimensional digital tooth models. The method comprises receiving a three-dimensional digital anatomic model of an oral anatomic structure of a patient and the first three-dimensional digital tooth models arranged with respect to the three-dimensional digital anatomic model at tooth positions with tooth orientations. The first three-dimensional digital tooth models comprise first identifiers identifying the dental key structures. First three-dimensional digital tooth models are selected for a replacement. The method further comprises receiving a generated three-dimensional digital model of the replacement tooth in response to inputting the one or more three-dimensional digital tooth models descriptive of one or more teeth of the subject into a tooth model generating neural network. The tooth model generating neural network comprises an encoder portion and a decoder portion. The encoder portion is configured for outputting a collective feature vector descriptive of the one or more digital tooth models. The tooth model generating neural network further comprises at least one fully connected layer configured to output a latent space vector into the decoder portion in response to receiving the collective feature vector.

The invention relates to a try-in denture base comprising one or more receptions for receiving basal sections of artificial teeth. A first reception is configured to receive two or more basal sections of two or more artificial teeth. A reception volume provided by the first reception is larger than a combination of basal volumes of the two or more basal sections of the two or more artificial teeth to be received. Disclosed is a computer-implemented method for adjusting an arrangement of a plurality of three-dimensional digital tooth models for a dental restoration. The method comprises selecting at least one of the three-dimensional digital tooth models, which is paired with a corresponding three-dimensional digital tooth model. A first calculation of a first adjustment of a geometric form of the selected tooth model is performed based on the second input defining a modification. The first adjustment is applied to the selected tooth model. A second calculation of a mapped adjustment of the geometric form of the paired corresponding tooth model is performed based on the second input or the first calculation. The mapped adjustment is based on a replica of the first adjustment adjusted relative to a local coordinate system of the paired corresponding tooth model and applied to the paired corresponding tooth model. The resulting adjusted three-dimensional digital denture model is provided for manufacturing.

Disclosed is a computer-implemented method for registering a first and a second three-dimensional digital structure. The first and second three-dimensional digital structures are received. First structural features of the first three-dimensional digital structure and second structural features of the second three-dimensional digital structure are determined. A first plurality of first feature sets of first structural features and a second plurality of second feature sets of second structural features are defined. Pairs of first and second feature sets describing first and second n-gons satisfying a congruence criterion are identified. To each pair of first and second feature set a point in a transformation space is assigned. A rigid spatial transformation for registering the first three-dimensional digital structure with the second three-dimensional digital structure is determined using a clustering of the points assigned in the transformation space. The first and second three-dimensional digital structure are registered using the determined rigid spatial transformation.

Disclosed is a method for checking a geometric form of a physical dental element using motion tracking and augmented reality. The method comprises a receiving of a three-dimensional digital model comprising a three-dimensional digital dental element, as well as repeatedly: a receiving of optical imaging data from an optical sensor device, a detecting of structural elements within the optical imaging data, a determining of a target position for the three-dimensional digital dental element using the reference points defined by the structural elements, and a controlling of an electronic display device for displaying an augmented reality view on the physical dental element augmented with the three-dimensional digital dental element.
