Techniques for limiting unwanted comments are described. For example, a social networking system may receive, from a first account of the social networking system, a request to post content. In some examples, the social networking system may further receive an instruction to limit an ability of certain accounts lacking a characteristic from commenting on the first account’s content. In some cases, the social networking system may receive, from a second account. Upon determining that the second account lacks the characteristic, the social networking system may refrain from sharing the comment with one or more additional users.

Techniques for identifying a trigger associated with a recommendation to modify settings associated with a user account of a social networking system, and providing a recommendation to a user to review and/or modify the settings are described herein. The settings may include settings associated with other users commenting on data published by the user via the social networking system (e.g., posts published by the user), tagging or mentioning the user in a post, sending a direct message to the user, and/or the like. That is, the social networking system may be configured to identify a triggering event (e.g., trigger) associated with interactions with the user account, and to provide a recommendation for the user to review and/or modify one or more settings associated with the user account based on the interactions, such as to improve an overall user experience with the social networking system.

According to examples, a system for generating and providing organization-bounded spaces for a virtual community of users may include a processor and a memory storing instructions. The processor, when executing the instructions, may cause the system to generate an organization-bounded space; analyze user information to associate a user with the organization-bounded space; enable the user to receive and publish a content item; and implement a security feature for communications associated with an organization-bounded space and/or its associated users. The processor may further determine recommend a group to the user and identify a user representative for the organization-bounded space.

The present disclosure relates to systems, non-transitory computer-readable media, and methods for dynamically providing a activity dashboard for display within a graphical user interface. In particular, the disclosed systems can intelligently display, within the activity dashboard, insights of digital activity within an application of a child account. For example, the disclosed systems can monitor digital activity associated with recent contacts and groups, contact updates, and digital media items exchanged in messaging chat threads. In turn, the disclosed system can selectively surface one or more portions (and/or indications) of the monitored digital activity in the activity dashboard along with corresponding actionable options available for user selection. In response to user interaction with the actionable options corresponding to the selectively surfaced digital activity, the disclosed systems can intuitively modify the child account to regulate viewable content and digital communications with third-party child accounts.

One variation of a method for selectively advertising items in an image includes: loading an image to a social feed; receiving a first tag and a second tag including identification of a first item and a second item visible in the image, respectively; based on the first tag and the second tag, correlating the first item with a first product and the second item with the second product; based on the first product and the second product, sourcing a first link to a first electronic storefront and a second link to a second electronic storefront that facilitate purchase of the first product and the second product, respectively; and selectively displaying a first visual cue of the first link and a second visual cue of the second link to a first user and to a second user, respectively, according to demographics of the first user and the second user.

In one embodiment, a method includes accessing posts in a social-networking system. Each of the posts is unlabeled with respect to whether the post is known to be spam. The method also includes determining a posting user who submitted the post to the social-networking system and a recipient user to whom the post is addressed. The method further includes determining a first vector representation of the posting user and a second vector representation of the recipient user based on one or more features associated with the post, the posting user, and the recipient user. The method still further includes comparing the vector representations and building a machine learning model for automatically detecting spam posts in the social-networking system using a subset of the plurality of posts as non-spam training data.

This disclosure is directed to enabling access to a game instance through a messenger application. A client-side player component facilitates communication between a game instance on the client device and a backend server of a social networking system. The communication information can be stored in or retrieved from a social graph of the social networking system. The game instance can be initialized from a social platform of the social networking system, and the game can be played without leaving the messenger application.

Systems and methods for creating and maintaining digital privacy controls may include (1) providing a privacy-settings interface that enables the user to select an audience for a social media composition, (2) displaying, within the privacy-settings interface, a user-selectable element that may be used to select an allotted number of audience members for the social media composition, and (3) configuring a size of the audience based on a selected allotted number indicated by the user-selectable element.
