Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for mitigating malicious network traffic. A computing device (e.g., a network management device, a control device, etc.) may receive indications of data/information communicated by one or more devices within a network and cause the one or more devices to implement measures to block malicious traffic resulting from multi-vector cyberattacks.

Techniques for powering a multi-unit optical network terminal (MU-ONT) located outside of a multi-unit building include obtaining reverse power from Power-over-Ethernet (POE) lines connecting the MU-ONT to terminal units (TUs) or customer premises equipments (CPEs) disposed inside the building. Reverse power may be injected into the PoE lines at the TUs, for example. Via an MU-ONT reverse powering device, the reverse power may be separated from services data provided via the PoE lines, and the services data may be delivered between the TUs and a Passive Optical Network (PON) via the MU-ONT. The reverse power obtained from the PoE lines may be aggregated to provide the MU-ONT with power commensurate with its power load. In some embodiments, the MU-ONT power load may be shared or distributed across PoE lines in a passive or actively controlled manner based on variations in the MU-ONT load and/or respective characteristics of the PoE lines.

Systems and methods for qualifying external network facilities for a service location of a passive optical network (PON) of a PON service provider are presented. An exemplary method may include obtaining an indication of a service location of the PON and an indication of a set of required optical services at the service location; determining a group of candidate external network provider facilities for the service location of the PON based on geospatial coordinates of the service location and respective geospatial coordinates of the candidate external network provider facilities included in the group; selecting, from among the group of candidate external network provider facilities, an external network provider facility for providing the set of required optical services to the service location; and causing one or more optical services to be delivered to the service location via the selected external network provider facility.

A coexistence element within a passive optical network (PON) includes a housing having a plurality of input communication ports. Each input communication port is configured to receive, via a separate optical fiber, optical communications each having a wavelength within a particular wavelength band corresponding to a particular optical service. At least one of the input communication ports is configured to receive optical communications having wavelengths within two or more different wavelength bands. The housing also includes an output communication port configured to transmit, via a single optical fiber, the optical communications from each of the plurality of input communication ports.

Systems and methods for performing an upstream trace operation are presented. An exemplary method may include obtaining an indication of a new service location of a passive optical network (PON); detecting a physical polyline route, within the PON, from an on-ramp facility corresponding to the new service location to a serving office of the PON, the detecting based on (i) respective geospatial locations of a plurality of optical components of the PON, and (ii) interconnections of the plurality of optical components, and the plurality of optical components including the on-ramp location, a terminal disposed at the serving office, and at least one optical fiber optically connecting the on-ramp location and the terminal; and causing optical services to be delivered from the serving office to the new service location via the detected physical polyline route.

An enclosure for retaining a multi-core fiber cable includes a shell defining an interior volume and featuring an upper retention member forming a channel. A retention bracket is at least partially disposed within the shell and includes a base panel with a front surface and rear surface. The rear surface features an upper hook member adapted to engage the upper retention member for slidably coupling the retention bracket with the shell, while the front surface includes a guide wall to accommodate a length of individual fiber strands along the surface. A floor panel extends from the base panel and includes openings dimensioned to individually receive the strands of fiber cable.

Systems and methods for generating a simulated model of a tracking fiber port availability in a fiber distribution hub via a graphical user interface (GUI) are presented. An exemplary method may include: receiving, via the GUI, a user indication to organize a plurality of icons representative of a corresponding plurality of ports included in a fiber distribution hub of a passive optical network (PON) into groups based on a specific criteria, wherein the specific criteria includes port bandwidth utilizations for the corresponding plurality of ports; determining port bandwidth utilizations of at least some of the corresponding plurality of ports; and automatically modifying at least some of the plurality of icons in the GUI based on the determined port bandwidth utilizations of the at least some of the corresponding plurality of ports.

Techniques for providing route redundancy for services at a service location of a PON include obtaining indications of a service location of the PON and a set of required services for the location; and detecting, based on geospatial locations and interconnections of optical components of the PON, that two or more physical polyline routes (each configured to support the set of required services at the service location) include different elements, e.g., different on-ramp facilities, network serving equipment, physical polyline route segments connecting to a common component of each of the two or more routes, or serving facilities of one or more providers. The detected two or more routes may be configured to be a set of redundant physical polyline routes for providing the required services to the location. One or more services may be caused to be delivered to the location via the configured set of redundant physical polyline routes.

Systems and methods for qualifying external network facilities for a service location of a passive optical network (PON) of a PON service provider are presented. An exemplary method may include obtaining an indication of a service location of the PON and an indication of a set of required optical services at the service location; determining a group of candidate external network provider facilities for the service location of the PON based on geospatial coordinates of the service location and respective geospatial coordinates of the candidate external network provider facilities included in the group; selecting, from among the group of candidate external network provider facilities, an external network provider facility for providing the set of required optical services to the service location; and causing one or more optical services to be delivered to the service location via the selected external network provider facility.
