A manufacturing method of a welded member includes irradiating a joining portion of two metal members with a laser beam and moving an irradiation region of the laser beam along the joining portion and supplying a cooling material to a molten pool to be generated in the joining portion by irradiation of the laser beam, thereby cooling the molten pool. The cooling material is supplied from a forward side of a traveling direction of the irradiation region, toward the molten pool located rearward of the irradiation region in the traveling direction.

In a method for manufacturing a welded member, an irradiation area that is irradiated by a laser beam relatively moves along end surfaces. The irradiation area includes a first area, a second area, and a third area. The second area surrounds an outer circumference of the first area. The third area is located outside of the second area and at least forward of the second area in a moving direction. The moving direction is a direction in which the irradiation area relatively moves. A rear end of the third area is located in front of a rear end of the second area in the moving direction. A method of manufacturing a welded member, the method including welding end surfaces of a thick plate and a thin plate to each other by laser beams. Irradiation regions irradiated with the laser beams includes a first and a second region. A corner portion of the thick plate is heated to melt by the laser beams via the first region that passes through at least a vicinity of the end surface of the thick plate. The end surfaces are welded to each other by the laser beams via the second region that passes through a vicinity of the corner portion, which has melted by the laser beams via the first region, and a vicinity of the end surface of the thin plate. An amount of heat applied to the thick plate via the first region is greater than that applied to the thin plate via the first region.

A method of manufacturing a joined body formed by welding using a deposit metal member includes irradiating the deposit metal member with a laser light to form a joint portion that joins an iron-based metal member and an aluminum-based metal member by the deposit metal member that is melted. The joint portion is formed so as to lie astride a first joint surface of the iron-based metal member and a second joint surface of the aluminum-based metal member. A short-wavelength laser light with a wavelength of 600 nm or less is used as the laser light.

In a method of manufacturing a metal member, a beam is radiated towards a ridgeline part in an outer surface of the metal member in order to perform quenching. In a manufacturing method of a metal member, two or more laser beams are simultaneously radiated from a single laser apparatus to two or more radiation regions spaced apart from each other on an outer surface of a metal member to thereby form a dimple in each radiation region.

A method of manufacturing a member includes forming a welded member by joining a first portion of a plate-shaped first plate material and a second portion of a plate-shaped second plate material by laser welding. The method also includes cooling a portion situated near the first portion of the first plate material and a portion situated near the second portion of the second plate material when performing the laser welding.

A method for manufacturing a joined body including two plate-like portions, the method including forming a joint part that comprises at least a portion of each of the two plate-like portions and joins the two plate-like portions; and irradiating the joint part with a beam, thereby to perform laser welding. The welding includes: forming an auxiliary welding path that is continuous and includes a reciprocating or circling path; and forming a main welding path that intersects a welding advancing direction and that includes turning points, after formation of the auxiliary welding path.

In a manufacturing method of a tailored blank including a first steel plate and a second steel plate to be joined by butt welding, the first and second steel plates are butt welded with a laser beam. The laser beam has a power density q1 in a first region, a power density q2 in a second region, a power density q3 in a third region, and a power density q4 in a fourth region. The power density q1, the power density q2, the power density q3, and the power density q4 satisfy a relationship of q1>q2>q3>q4.
