A wireless power transmission system and method, including a power transmitter arrangement and a power receiver arrangement. The power transmitter arrangement is configured to transmit electromagnetic wave pulses to the power receiver arrangement, where the electrical energy can be accumulated and/or stored. The power receiver arrangement is configured to create a feedback signal for controlling the amount of transmitted electrical energy and/or power. The feedback signal is wirelessly transmitted from the power receiver arrangement to the power transmitter arrangement. In the power transmitter arrangement, the creation of electric pulses resulting in the transmission of electromagnetic wave pulses is controlled based on the received feedback signal.

A method performed by a DC voltage controller for a HVDC converter, including generating a synchronous phase angle from a DC voltage error, wherein the DC voltage error is generated from a measured DC voltage and a demanded DC voltage; generating an AC grid phase angle from an AC grid signal; generating a DC power compensation function based at least in part on the measured DC voltage; and generating, for the HVDC converter, a phase angle demand based on at least one of: the synchronous phase angle, the AC grid phase angle, and the DC power compensation function.

A method performed by a DC voltage controller for a HVDC converter, including generating a synchronous angular speed and synchronous phase angle based on a DC voltage error signal; determining an AC grid phase angle from a combination signal, wherein the combination signal is based on an AC grid signal and a function of the synchronous angular speed; generating, for the HVDC converter, a phase angle demand, wherein the phase angle demand is based on the AC grid phase angle and the synchronous phase angle.

A method for providing multi-layer protection from faults for a power generation plant is provided. The method includes monitoring, via a system-level controller, one or more parameters at a first plurality of distributed generation resources. The method also includes implementing, via the system-level controller, a fault protection mode upon the one or more parameters of the first plurality of distributed generation resources exceeding a first threshold. Specifically, the fault protection mode includes implementing a time delay, and after the time delay, commanding, via the system-level controller, a trip of the first feeder breaker on a first feeder line. The method also includes exiting the fault protection mode when the one or more parameters of the first plurality of distributed generation resources are equal to or fall below the first threshold.

The present application provides a powder removal system for removing powder from an additive manufacturing component with a number of component voids therein. The powder removal system may include a build plate with a number of build plate conduits that aligns with the component voids, a powder removal plate with a number of powder removal plate conduits that aligns with the build plate conduit, and a pressurized fluid system in communication with the powder removal plate conduits.

A Helmholtz damper system includes damper element(s) that include a tube positioned in a hollow mount in a cap assembly of a combustor. The hollow mount has an aft end in fluid communication with a combustion chamber. The tube has a hollow body having an aft end in fluid communication with the combustion chamber, a forward end, and a volume therein. A damping volume control member is coupled to the tube and has a perforated member positioned to at least partially define a damping volume. The damping volume may be defined between the perforated member and another perforated member at the aft end of the tube or just within the control member. The damping volume controls a frequency dampened by the damper element and can be adjusted to the exact frequency requiring damping by adjusting the control member size and/or shape.

A combustor includes a combustion liner that defines a combustion chamber. The combustor further includes a fluid supply line for providing a fluid to the combustion chamber. The combustor further includes a filter disposed in fluid communication with the fluid supply line for removing particulates from the fluid. The filter extends along a center axis from a forward end to an aft end. The filter includes a base flange defining an open base at the forward end, a downstream segment defining the aft end, and a filter screen extending between the base flange and the downstream segment. The filter screen defines an interior and a plurality of apertures having a non-circular shape sized to permit the fluid to pass from the interior of the filter and prevent particulates from passing from the interior.

Systems and methods are provided for controlling the mass flow of an exhaust gas to be delivered from an EGR system to a gas turbine system in a power plant. The mass flow control is provided through a mass flow controller including 1) a primary mass flow control that modulates the mass flow of the EGR flow by adjusting operating conditions of an EGR blower, 2) a secondary mass flow control that maintain power optimized operation of the EGR blower by adjusting the position of an EGR outlet damper, and 3) a tertiary flow modulation control that limits the EGR operation within mechanical design boundaries of the EGR duct by throttling the position of an EGR inlet damper. As such, the presently disclosed embodiments may operate independently to provide precise mass flow control within the EGR system, optimize power consumption of the blower, and safeguard the EGR system within its design boundaries.

A thermocouple support assembly is provided. The thermocouple support assembly is configured to mount on a gas turbine casing. The thermocouple support assembly includes a thermocouple and a support plate. The thermocouple includes a protective sheath. The protective sheath extends from a connection end to a junction end. The support plate includes an outer surface and an inner surface and defines an aperture that extends between the outer surface and the inner surface. The protective sheath extends through the aperture such that the junction end is flush with the inner surface of the support plate.
