Disclosed herein are drug delivery implants configured to be implanted into the eye of a subject and serve as intraocular drug depots. The implants reside in an intraocular target site until activation, at which time the implants release the drug (or drugs) housed within the implant in a controlled release fashion. The drug delivery implant can include an outer shell, a stabilized travoprost formulation positioned within an inner chamber of the outer shell, and an elution rate-controlling membrane such as ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer membrane. The stabilized travoprost formulation can include travoprost and an effective amount of at least one antioxidant. The elution rate-controlling membrane can be in operable contact with the stabilized travoprost formulation and can deliver a therapeutically effective amount of the travoprost from the inner chamber to an ocular space including anterior and posterior chambers.

The present disclosure relates to a system and kit for preparing a reconstitutable cytotoxic pharmaceutical formulation within a closed system to prevent unintended contact with or release of the cytotoxic pharmaceutical formulation. A safety connector and a vial adapter are provided, which include check valves that prevent the unintended release of the cytotoxic pharmaceutical formulation. Also disclosed herein are methods of using the system and kit.

Described herein are formulations including pharmaceutical agents comprising ester and/or lactone ring structures, and methods of using the same. The invention is also directed to a method and ophthalmic pharmaceutical compositions including solution and semisolid dosage forms (i.e. ophthalmic creams, gels, lotions, serums, and/or ointments) of treating a patient with various ocular diseases including presbyopia and dry eyes. The method comprising instructing a patient to apply one strip of the ophthalmic composition to the eyelids that includes pilocarpine or other active pharmaceutical ingredients containing ester and/or lactone ring structures with and without the buffering system.

An implantable drug delivery device includes a proximal portion, a distal portion, and an elongate portion disposed between the proximal portion and the distal portion. The proximal portion is angled, relative to the elongate portion. The distal portion is angled, relative to the elongate portion. The drug delivery device is configured for insertion into a punctum of an eye, such that at least the distal portion and the elongate portion fully reside in the punctum of the eye when the drug delivery device is inserted.

Disclosed herein are drug delivery devices and methods for the treatment of ocular disorders requiring targeted and controlled administration of a drug to an interior portion of the eye for reduction or prevention of symptoms of the disorder. The devices are capable of controlled release of one or more drugs and may also include structures which allow for treatment of increased intraocular pressure by permitting aqueous humor to flow out of the anterior chamber of the eye through the device.

The invention relates generally to medical devices and methods for reducing the intraocular pressure in an animal eye and, more particularly, to stent type devices for permitting aqueous outflow from the eye's anterior chamber and associated methods thereof for the treatment of glaucoma. Some aspects provide a self-trephining glaucoma stent and methods thereof which advantageously allow for a “one-step” procedure in which the incision and placement of the stent are accomplished by a single device and operation. This desirably allows for a faster, safer, and less expensive surgical procedure.

A punctum plug or lacrimal insert is constructed of a monolithic material, such that the punctum plug is configured to turn approximately 90 degrees upon insertion into a canaliculus of an eye. The punctum plug or lacrimal insert may include high-molecular-weight polysaccharide and added plasticizers.

An ophthalmic therapeutic treatment composition includes a topical cream containing a crosslinked acrylic acid polymer, an acrylamide/sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, and an effective amount of an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) dispersed in the topical cream. The ophthalmic therapeutic treatment composition and API are formulated for topical application and treatment of various disorders such as dry eye, presbyopia, intraocular pressure and blepharitis.
