The present disclosure is directed to a paper towel product that will capably separate from the paper towel roll as a full sheet, a half sheet or a quarter sheet. A method of making a paper towel with machine direction perforations is also disclosed.

Improvements to frictional features in rolled sheet product dispensers are provided herein. An example sheet product dispenser for enabling dispensing from a roll of sheet product is provided. The dispenser includes a moveable support portion for storing and rotating the roll of sheet product relative to a base portion. A loaded roll of sheet product is configured to rotate about a spindle during dispensing of the sheet product therefrom. The dispenser further includes a frictional feature attached to a movable support brake feature at a pivot point radially spaced apart from the spindle. The frictional feature is positioned to pivot about the pivot point toward the movable support brake feature when the roll of sheet product is loaded on the spindle such that the frictional feature applies a decreasing friction force on a side surface of the roll as the sheet product depletes.

Some sheet product dispensers disclosed herein are configured to dispense from a sheet product roll that includes a plurality of predetermined portions that are designed for providing a toilet seat cover. A dispenser for dispensing sheet product is provided. The dispenser includes a housing with an outlet through which sheet product is dispensed. A knife drum is rotatable with respect to the housing. A knife is movable between a retracted position within the knife drum and an extended position where the knife protrudes outside of the knife drum to cut the sheet product. A cam follower surface is fixed with respect to the housing. A cam follower is attached to the knife and operable to engage the cam follower surface and travel therealong to transition the knife between the retracted position and the extended position. A spring assembly biases the knife drum during rotation toward a predetermined position. The spring assembly comprises a first spring and a second spring. The spring assembly is attached at a single mount position that is fixed with respect to the housing.

A sheet product dispenser for dispensing sheet product from a roll of sheet product is provided. An example sheet product dispenser includes a housing defining an interior space for receiving a first roll of sheet product ( 170 a, 170 b ) therein, a mandrel ( 150 a, 150 b ) positioned within the interior space, and a spindle ( 100 ) positioned over at least a portion of the mandrel and configured to support the first roll of sheet product for rotation about the mandrel. The spindle comprises abase portion ( 102 ) and a nose portion ( 104 ) configured to translate relative to one another along a longitudinal axis of the mandrel ( 150 a, 150 b ). At least a portion of the spindle is configured to translate relative to the mandrel from a first configuration to a second configuration to cause a remainder of the first roll of sheet product ( 170 a, 170 b ) to deform and enable movement of a dispensing door ( 186 ) to enable access to a second roll of sheet product.

A tissue stack is disposed within the cavity, the tissue stack including a plurality of tissue sheets folded along a crease. An aperture is formed in a top surface of the housing such that a tissue sheet is removable from the cavity through the aperture. A portion of the tissue sheets includes an out indicator formed along a centerline of each tissue sheet and across the crease.
