A massage device ( 1 ) comprises a motor ( 17 ), a piston ( 9 ), and a linkage ( 19 ). The piston ( 9 ) is configured to be driven by the motor ( 17 ) to carry out a reciprocating motion along a massage direction ( 11 ). The linkage ( 19 ) connects both the first shaft portion ( 31 ) and the second shaft portion ( 33 ) to the piston ( 9 ).

An apparatus for providing contrast and compression therapy includes a hot water tank, a cold water tank, a water pump, a heat exchanger, and a therapy pad, where the hot and cold water tanks are configured to store water at respective target temperatures for alternating delivery to the therapy pad for alternating thermotherapy and cryotherapy. The apparatus further includes a programmable control unit configured to automatically switch the alternating delivery of the stored water at the respective target temperatures to the therapy pad, and an air pump configured to deliver pressurized air to the therapy pad to provide compression therapy simultaneously with the thermotherapy or the cryotherapy.

A wearable thermotherapy apparatus includes at least one air bladder configured to conform to a contour of a portion of a user's body, at least one thermal element disposed adjacent to the air bladder and configured to apply heat to a targeted portion of the user's body, a support structure configured to limit outward expansion of the air bladder, a control unit configured to regulate heat and compression delivered via the thermal element and air bladder, a power source operably connected to the thermal element and control unit, and a user interface including one or more buttons and indicators to control and display compression and heat levels.

A light therapy system is made up of a pressure cuff system having a cuff that is positionable on or near a body part of a user and that can receive pressurized air to selectively pressurize and depressurize the cuff and a light emitting system having a supporting structure and a light emitter positioned on the supporting structure, the light emitter being controllably powerable. The supporting structure is positionable on an interior surface of the cuff so that the light emitter can direct light onto the body part. The light therapy system can further include a controller capable of controllably powering the light emitter, wherein controller can adjust the intensity or duration of the light directed onto the body part in response to an input or measurement related to a condition of the body part. A photometer can be provided separately or integrally to measure the condition of the body part. A method of providing light therapy is also provided.
