The present disclosure relates to an aerosol-forming article (e.g., a heat-not-burn consumable) comprising an aerosol-forming substrate and one or more of a hollow bore element, a filter element, a spacer element and/or an aerosol-cooling element downstream of the substrate wherein the substrate comprises a cannabinoid-containing plant material.

A system for managing a smoking substitute device, the system comprising; a smoking substitute device comprising; a control unit; a memory configured to store firmware for operating the smoking substitute device and a device-specific encryption key; and a communications interface; and an application server configured to communicate to the smoking substitute device a firmware update message that is encrypted with the device-specific encryption key, wherein the smoking substitute device is configured to obtain an encrypted firmware image, wherein the firmware update message includes a firmware key for decrypting the encrypted firmware image, and wherein the smoking substitute device is configured to use the device-specific encryption key to decrypt the firmware update message, to obtain the firmware key for decrypting the encrypted firmware image.

The present disclosure provides a cap assembly ( 100 ) for an aerosol generating device, the cap assembly comprising an actuator ( 170 ) and a cap ( 51 ), the cap being moveable relative to the actuator, wherein the cap comprises: a housing ( 110 ) including an aperture ( 180 ), the aperture forming the entrance to a consumable-receiving cavity ( 120 ); and a closure ( 130 ) pivotably mounted adjacent to the aperture and selectably pivotable relative to the housing about a pivot axis ( 132 ) to adopt an open position where the aperture is exposed and a closed position where the aperture is occluded; wherein the closure moves through an intermediate position when transitioning between the open position and the closed position; and the closure transitions from the open position to the closed position when the housing is moved from a first position relative to the actuator to a second position relative to the actuator.

The present disclosure relates to an aerosol delivery device having a vaporizing chamber housing a vaporizer for vaporizing a vaporizable liquid and a transverse baffle mounted downstream from the vaporizer. The transverse baffle defines at least one aperture for chamber airflow path downstream of the vaporizer and an upstream face of the baffle facing the vaporizer comprises a recessed surface. It also relates to an aerosol delivery device where an upstream face of the baffle facing the vaporizer comprises at least one sloped surface and the at least one sloped surface slopes to at least one gutter on the upstream face of the baffle.

A smoking substitute apparatus for generating an aerosol, comprising: an air inlet and an outlet; a passage extending between the air inlet and the outlet, air flowing in use along the passage for inhalation by a user drawing on the apparatus; and an aerosol generation chamber containing an aerosol generator being operable to generate an aerosol from an aerosol precursor; wherein the aerosol generation chamber comprises at least one chamber outlet in fluid communication with the passage at a junction, the at least one chamber outlet permitting, in use, aerosol generated by the aerosol generator to be entrained into an air flow along the passage; and wherein the passage has a constriction configured to induce, in use, a localized reduced pressure in the air flow at the junction for drawing out the aerosol from the aerosol generation chamber.

Disclosed is an aerosol-delivery component for an aerosol-generating system (e.g., a smoking substitute system), said component comprising a tank for storing an aerosol precursor and a vaporization chamber housing a vaporizer. The tank being is in fluid communication with the vaporizer. The component further comprises a channel extending from the vaporization chamber to the tank defining an unimpeded air flow pathway from the vaporization chamber into the tank.

The present disclosure relates to an aerosol delivery device and system e.g. a smoking substitute device and system. In particular an aerosol delivery device comprising: a movement detection unit configured to detect a movement of the device; a power source having a charge status; and a feedback element configured to provide feedback based on the charge status of the power source wherein the feedback element provides feedback in response to a movement of the device detected by the movement detection unit.

A smoking substitute apparatus for generating an aerosol, comprising: an air inlet and an outlet; a passage extending between the air inlet and the outlet, air flowing in use along the passage for inhalation by a user drawing on the apparatus; and an aerosol generation chamber containing an aerosol generator being operable to generate an aerosol from an aerosol precursor; wherein the aerosol generation chamber comprises at least one chamber outlet in fluid communication with the passage at a junction, the at least one chamber outlet permitting, in use, aerosol generated by the aerosol generator to be entrained into an air flow along the passage; and wherein the passage has a constriction configured to induce, in use, a localized reduced pressure in the air flow at the junction for drawing out the aerosol from the aerosol generation chamber.

The present disclosure provides a control assembly ( 100 ) for an aerosol generating device ( 1 ), the control assembly comprising: a printed circuit board ( 110 ); a button ( 120 ) moveable between a first position and a second position and configured to be brought into mechanical contact with a push switch ( 130 ), the push switch being electrically connected to the printed circuit board; and one or more button-support mechanisms ( 140 , 142 ) in mechanical contact with the button, wherein: each of the one or more button-support mechanisms is mechanically biased to maintain mechanical contact with the button when the button is moved by a user between the first position and the second position; and at least one of the one or more button-support mechanisms forms an electrical grounding pathway between the button and the printed circuit board.

A smoking substitute system is provided. The apparatus comprises a housing having an air inlet; an outlet communicating with the air inlet through a flow passage; a liquid reservoir to store an aerosol precursor; and a vaporization chamber to generate an aerosol from the aerosol precursor. The vaporization chamber delivers aerosol and is in communication with the flow passage. A wick extends from the liquid reservoir into the vaporization chamber. The wick comprises a heatable portion disposed outside of an air flow path along the flow passage, such that air flowing through the flow passage bypasses the heatable portion of the wick. A base is in contact with the heatable portion of the wick to receive a heater configured to heat the heatable portion of the wick to generate the aerosol. The device comprises a heater and removably engages with the apparatus via the base.
