In an access control system for a building, a security gate separates a restricted-access zone from a public zone. Radio devices are arranged at established distances from the security gate and define a monitoring area. A control device of the system is communicatively coupled to a building device, and a data storage device stores processing instructions for situation-specific calibration modes. A signal processing device evaluates the radio communication in the monitoring area, determines at least one situation indicator therefrom which indicates a radio situation prevailing in the monitoring area and, for each radio device, captures a received signal strength indicator and uses it to determine at least one situation indicator (RSSI i ) based on radio communication with a first wireless device. The signal processing device selects a calibration mode assigned to the at least one situation indicator and reads the processing instructions assigned to this calibration mode from the data storage device. The signal processing device determines a current position (P′) of the first wireless device as a function of the received signal strength indicators (RSSI i ) according to the processing instructions that have been read.

A building door system has operating and wayfinding devices, wherein each of the operating and wayfinding devices is assigned to a respective single-door system and can be connected to one another for communication with a communications network. Each operating and wayfinding device has a storage device storing an identifier, a control and processing device, a recognition device for detecting a credential of a person, and a display device, which has a user interface facing outdoors. When an invalid credential for the single-door system is detected, the control and processing device generates a request signal containing data of the credential and the individual identifier and feeds this into the communications network. The control and processing device receives a response signal via the communications network, extracts wayfinding information contained in the response signal and assigned to the credential, and activates the display device to display the wayfinding information on the user interface.

A system for controlling access to a restricted-access zone in a building or on a site comprises an access control device and a barrier-free lock. The lock comprises a display device, a recording device and an image recording device. Operating the system comprises activating the display device to display image data of a person generated by the image recording device as a real-time image visible to the person. The image recording device generates the image data when the person is at the lock to enter the restricted-access zone. The access control device checks whether a valid credential is identified. If a valid credential is identified, an approval signal is generated by the access control device and the display device displays that access has been approved. If a valid credential is not identified, an alarm message is generated by the access control device and the display device displays the alarm.

A method for automatically updating at least one digital certificate of an elevator system uses a mobile terminal, wherein the digital certificate is used for authenticating a communication established within or with the elevator system. The method includes the steps: connecting the mobile terminal to the elevator system to allow the mobile terminal to check the time validity of the digital certificate of the elevator system; and generating a human-perceptible signal to indicate a check result if the time validity of the digital certificate is expired or will expire by a predefined time-limit.

A system for controlling access to a building or a restricted zone in the building includes a building door system having a building door, an electronic locking device, and a recognition device for capturing credentials for an object. If the credentials are valid, the building door can be unlocked and can be brought from a closed position into an open position. A sensor system monitors an access zone that includes a specified access region to the building door, in order to detect a person who is in the access zone. A control device generates an alarm signal when the building door system grants access and the sensor system detects a person in the access zone, wherein the building door system disables access upon receipt of the alarm signal.

A method of operating a computer-controlled first device for establishing a secure data communication with a computer-controlled second device in a passenger transportation arrangement distributed control system includes: generating an encryption key including a public and private key pair; creating credentials (e.g. X.509 certificate) based on the generated encryption key; preparing a certificate signing request CSR and dispatching the CSR via a secured data communication path to a certificate authority CA that is based on a public key infrastructure PKI operated by the passenger transportation arrangement operator; receiving the certificate from the CA with a signature using a private key held secret by the operator; establishing the secure data communication with the second device by transmitting the credentials to the second device, wherein the second device accepts establishing the secure data communication upon verification of the signature of the credentials executed using a public key of the operator.

A system for controlling access to a restricted area in a building includes a sliding door system and a controller. The sliding door system has a door frame and a sliding door which can be moved in the door frame between a closed position and an open position. The door frame has a passage region and a wall shell region which at least partially accommodates the sliding door in the open position. The sliding door has an end face which faces the passage region in the open position. The controller has a processor unit and a sensor unit. The controller is designed to generate an alarm signal if a height of an object in the passage region, as determined by the sensor unit, deviates from a height range stored for the object.

A system for controlling access to a restricted-access area in a building has a sliding door system and a controller for the sliding door system. The sliding door system has a door frame and a sliding door which can be moved in the door frame between a closed position and an open position by a drive unit. The door frame has a passage region and a wall shell region which at least partially accommodates the sliding door in the open position. A controller is arranged on the sliding door and is communicatively connected to the drive device. The controller is designed to control a movement of the sliding door between the closed position and an open position. A light projection device is arranged in an interior of the sliding door and is communicatively connected to the controller. The light projection device is designed to project status information specified by the controller for a user requesting access to the restricted-access area as a visible light projection onto a projection surface.

In an access control system ( 1 ) for a building, a security gate ( 14 ) separates a restricted-access zone ( 20 ) from a public zone ( 22 ). Radio devices ( 6 ) are arranged at established distances from the security gate ( 14 ) and define a monitoring area. A control device ( 10, 12 ) of the system ( 1 ) is communicatively coupled to a building device ( 16 ), and a data storage device ( 18 ) stores processing instructions for situation-specific calibration modes. The signal processing device ( 8 ) selects a calibration mode assigned to the at least one situation indicator and reads the processing instructions assigned to this calibration mode from the data storage device ( 18 ). The signal processing device ( 8 ) determines a current position (P′) of the first wireless device ( 2 ) as a function of the received signal strength indicators (RSSI i ) according to the processing instructions that have been read.
