A high temperature sag resistant lightweight wallboard. The addition of a small amount of urea (about 0.1%) significantly improves the high-temperature sag resistance on Type X gypsum wallboards. These gypsum wallboards may have a board weight of less than 2100 lbs/msf when cast to have an overall 5.8 inch thickness, and may include glass fibers and/or mineral wool. Also, methods of making the gypsum wallboard and a wall system for employing the gypsum wallboard.

A high solids, sprayable, fast drying, ready-mixed setting-type joint compound comprising a blend of a joint compound mixture comprising: joint compound mixture ingredients comprising: calcium sulfate hemihydrate (e.g. US Gypsum's HYDROCAL C-Base), a chelating agent, and water; and an activator mixture, wherein the activator mixture comprises: activator mixture ingredients comprising: inert filler, set accelerator, and water, wherein a weight ratio of joint compound mixture:activator mixture is 1:1 to 100:1, wherein the activator mixture viscosity is the same as the joint compound mixture viscosity plus or minus 50 percent, and wherein the joint compound has about 55 to about 80 wt. % solids and a viscosity of 2,500-28,000 cps.

This disclosure provides systems and methods for continuous wallboard manufacturing, and in particular methods that include measuring a wallboard width and edge profiles in a post-kiln stack of at least two wallboards or more with a laser scanner, preferably a two-dimensional (2D) laser scanner positioned at a distance from a post-kiln conveyor and performing a laser scan of the stack passing by on the post-kiln conveyor.

A method and apparatus to manufacture gypsum board that directs a first portion of aqueous gypsum slurry to a front cover sheet, directs a second portion of aqueous gypsum slurry to a back cover sheet, passes the back cover sheet over a roller spaced above the front cover sheet so that a majority of the second aqueous gypsum slurry falls off the back cover sheet onto the first portion of aqueous gypsum slurry on the front cover sheet. The invention relates to a profile for arranging a component for a drywall construction, in particular a profile for a preferably ceiling-side fastening of a drywall, preferably a profile for a drywall comprising a panelled stud frame.
