A gating camera divides a field of view in a depth direction into multiple slices, and generates multiple slice images that correspond to the multiple slices. An illumination apparatus emits illumination light. A camera controller controls a light emission timing of the illumination apparatus and an exposure timing of an image sensor so as to generate slice images from a near slice to a farther slice. An arithmetic processing device judges whether a road surface appears for each of the slice images generated in sequence. Processing for a row judged to include a road surface in a given slice is simplified at the time of sensing of a slice farther than the given slice.

An illumination device irradiates a field of view with pulsed illumination light. A camera controller controls a light emission timing of the illumination device and an exposure timing of an image sensor. An image processing device generates a composite image by synthesizing a plurality of slice images output from the image sensor. The image processing device sets, as a valid image, a range that takes a local maximum value when pixels at the same position in each of the plurality of slice images are arranged in range order. The image processing device generates a pixel value at the same position in the composite image, based on a pixel value at the same position in the slice image corresponding to the valid range.

A display device includes a projection device RP that projects a notification pattern on a region in the vicinity of a vehicle CAR, an imaging device RC that images the region in the vicinity of the vehicle, and an object detection device OS capable of detecting an object (third party) present in a region which cannot be imaged by the imaging device RC. When the object detection device OS detects the object, the projection device RP projects the notification pattern in a form different from the notification in a normal state, so that the third party can visually recognize the notification pattern. The imaging device RC images a region including a region on which the notification pattern is projected, and displays, on a monitor MO visually checkable by the occupant, a captured image of the notification pattern projected in the form different from the notification pattern in the normal state.

A visual assistance display apparatus includes: a detection unit that detects an object; and a control unit that causes a display device to display a potential object that is undetectable by the detector in a manner that is superimposed on a real surrounding image. The control unit causes the display device to display an image that notifies the potential object in association with an object that obstructs a view of the potential object.

This vehicular sensing system provided to a vehicle comprises a frontward LiDAR unit and a rearward LiDAR unit. The frontward LiDAR unit and the rearward LiDAR unit are arranged on a rear surface of a vehicle body facing a road, and are configured to acquire point group data indicating the surrounding environment of the vehicle.

A sensing system 400 includes an illumination device 410, an image sensor 420, a sensing controller 430, and an arithmetic processing device 440. The arithmetic processing device 440 receives image data generated by the image sensor 420, determines whether detection of an object is successful for each frame, and generates a stop flag STOP indicating that sensing is impossible based on a result of determination.

A vehicle detection device performs detection of a vehicle in front within a processing region set in an image based on an imaging device and displaces or transforms the processing region based on a change in shape of a road in front.

A vehicular display system includes: a first lamp that emits near-infrared light; a second lamp that emits visible light; a first camera that captures a first image of an outside of a vehicle irradiated by the first lamp; a second camera that includes an imaging range of the first camera and captures a second image of the outside of the vehicle irradiated by the second lamp; a control unit that generates a third image in which a luminance of pixels of the first image corresponding to pixels of the second image is reduced, based on a luminance of the second image; and a head-up display that displays the third image generated by the control unit.

An illumination device irradiates a field of view with pulsed illumination light. In a multi-tap type image sensor, one pixel has a plurality of FD (floating diffusion) regions. A camera controller controls a light emission timing of the illumination device and an exposure timing of the image sensor. A pulse exposure region, which is one of the plurality of FD regions, is allocated to generation of a slice image, and a continuous exposure region, which is another one of the plurality of FD regions, is allocated to generation of a normal image. The image sensor generates the slice image by performing multiple exposure of reflected light of the pulsed illumination light from the field of view using the pulse exposure region, and generates the normal image by performing exposure using the continuous exposure region in a section where the pulse exposure region is not used.

A gated camera for dividing a field of view into a plurality of ranges in a depth direction and generating a plurality of slice images corresponding to the plurality of ranges, the gated camera includes: an illumination device configured to irradiate the field of view with pulse illumination light; an image sensor; a camera controller configured to control a light emission timing of the illumination device and an exposure timing of the image sensor; and an arithmetic processing device configured to process image data generated by the image sensor. The arithmetic processing device is configured to acquire information on weather based on the image data obtained for a predetermined range in a weather detection mode.
