An example hybrid duplex fiber connector is provided. The connector includes a housing and a wall with a first opening and a second opening. The connector includes at least two ferrules disposed at the proximal end of the housing. The connector includes first and second contact pads coupled to the wall of the housing. Each of the contact pads defines a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end of the first contact pad extends through the first opening and the proximal end of the second contact pad extends through the second opening of the housing to couple the first and second contact pads to the wall of the housing. Upon insertion into a port of a complementary adapter, the at least two ferrules are capable of completing an optical connection and the first second contact pads are capable of completing an electrical connection.

An example counterbalancing element for a fiber optic adapter is provided. The counterbalancing element includes a flexible body section configured and dimensioned to be at least partially inserted into the interior of the fiber optic adapter through the first opening or the second opening of the fiber optic adapter. The counterbalancing element includes means for retaining the flexible body section relative to the fiber optic adapter such that the flexible body section remains at least partially within the interior of the fiber optic adapter. The flexible body section is configured to be displaced upon insertion of at least one of the fiber optic connector or the second fiber optic connector into the respective first or second opening of the fiber optic adapter. Displacement of the flexible body section imparts a biasing force on at least one of the first fiber optic connector or the second fiber optic connector.

An example cable management cover is provided. The cover includes a panel defining a first side edge and a second side edge opposing the first side edge. The cover includes first and second handles slidably coupled to the respective first and second side edges of the panel. The cover includes a first pair of pins associated with the first handle and movable with the first handle during sliding of the first handle along the first side edge. The cover includes a second pair of pins associated with the second handle and movable with the second handle during sliding of the second handle along the second side edge. The first pair of pins define a first axis of rotation about which the cable management cover is rotatable, and the second pair of pins define a second axis of rotation about which the cable management cover is rotatable.

An outlet module mounting mechanism for use with a power distribution unit including: a bracket attachable to an outlet module; a latch movably coupled to the bracket, wherein the latch has a proximal end portion and a distal end portion; a link coupled to the proximal end portion of the latch; and a plunger connected to the link and movable between a released position and a latched position. When the plunger is moved to the latched position the plunger moves the link away from a front side of the outlet module such that the distal end portion of the at least one latch moves toward the front side of the outlet module to engage a corresponding wall of the housing thereby securing the outlet module to the housing.

A power distribution unit (PDU), including: a housing; one or more outlets; a power input connector; a controller; multiple power input conductors coupled to the power input connector; a pair of conductors coupled to and extending between the power input connector and the controller; and a detachable power cord, including: a power cord connector mateable with the power input connector; multiple power cord conductors coupled to the power cord connector and in electrical communication with corresponding power input conductors; and a memory coupled to the power cord connector and in electrical communication with the pair of conductors, wherein the memory includes information pertaining to the power cord.

An example hybrid fiber connector is provided. The hybrid fiber connector includes a housing defining a proximal end and an opposing distal end. The housing includes at least one wall. The hybrid fiber connector includes a ferrule disposed at the proximal end of the housing, and at least one contact pad coupled to the at least one wall of the housing. Upon insertion into a port of a complementary adapter, the ferrule is capable of completing an optical connection and the at least one contact pad is capable of completing an electrical connection.

An example fiber optic connector label is provided that includes a main body section, a first group of fiber designations, and a second group of fiber designations. The main body section includes a top surface and an opposing bottom surface. The main body section includes a lateral axis extending through first and second side edges of the main body section, the lateral axis dividing the main body section into a first side and a second side. The first group of fiber designations is located on the first side of the main body section. The second group of fiber designations is located on the second side of the main body section.

Disclosed are power distribution systems and methods in which a power distribution unit (PDU) includes a residual current monitor (RCM) to detect the presence of downstream leakage current in the PDU. The RCM can include a current sensor with a core that has power conductors passing through the core and drive windings about the core. Drive circuitry of the RCM produce alternating drive signals through the drive windings to drive the core into and out of positive and negative saturation. Sensing circuitry of the RCM produce a response signal that is filtered by a high-order current signal filter to isolate characteristics of the downstream leakage current.

The present disclosure provides improved optical devices (e.g., discrete passive optical devices), and improved systems/methods for fabricating such optical devices. Systems/methods are provided for fabricating discrete passive optical devices by utilizing an advantageous cyclic core variance fabrication process/method. The cyclic core variance process/method employs a continuous process, but instead of having one constant core profile of the optical fiber, the core profile of the optical fiber varies cyclically, going back and forth between two or more core profile zones, with a gradual and properly-shaped transition zone in between. The core profile zones and transition zone can be custom formed (e.g., user-defined) to fabricate a variety of optical effects of the optical devices as desired, allowing a large variety of optical devices to be fabricated utilizing the exemplary cyclic core variance process/method.

The present disclosure provides an optical fiber and a method of fabricating an optical fiber. The method includes providing an optical fiber, the optical fiber defining a length having a proximal end and a distal end. The optical fiber includes a first core profile zone defining a first core diameter, and a second core profile zone defining a second core diameter different from the first core diameter. The optical fiber includes a first transition zone connecting the first core profile zone to the second core profile zone. The first core profile zone, the second core profile zone, and the first transition zone are formed as a single, continuous fiber.
