The present invention relates to a material handling and/or construction machine, in particular lifting gear such as a crane, comprising a plurality of electric drives for driving work assemblies and/or structural components of the material handling and/or construction machine, a control apparatus for controlling the drives, and a power supply device for supplying electric power to the electric drives, wherein the power supply device has a grid connection for connection to a power grid and drawing of the electric power from the power grid, wherein a measuring device for measuring the total electric power consumption of the material handling and/or construction machine from the power grid is provided at the grid connection at the machine-end grid connection.

The invention relates to a method for operating a plurality of construction machines, in particular in the form of cranes, the movements of which are monitored for imminent collisions by an anti-collision device, wherein ultra-wideband transmitting/receiving devices mounted on the plurality of construction machines exchange ultra-wideband signals, wherein the propagation times of the ultra-wideband signals between the construction machines are determined and imminent collisions are determined from the propagation times of the ultra-wideband signals.

The present invention relates to a crane, for example in the form of a fast-erecting crane comprising a telescopic and/or luffing tower, having a crane controller for controlling crane movements by means of drive devices, wherein the crane controller has a monitoring device for monitoring stability and limiting crane movements if a load limit is reached. According to the invention, the monitoring device has a wind resistance detection unit for detecting at least one variable wind resistance parameter which influences the wind resistance of the crane, and is designed to change the load limit depending on the detected wind resistance parameter and/or to consider different load limits depending on said wind resistance parameter.

A lifting gear such as a crane having a lifting mechanism for lifting a load, a lifting mechanism drive for driving the lifting gear and a control device for controlling the lifting mechanism drive, as well as a method for starting up the lifting mechanism of such a lifting gear for gentle lifting of the load. In an initial phase for initial tensioning of the lifting means, the tightening torque of the lifting mechanism drive is automatically limited by the control device to an initial maximum torque that is only slightly greater than a load-free lifting resistance torque of the lifting mechanism, and then in a further phase for further tightening, the maximum torque increases in a load-induced manner and/or a rate of change of the drive speed of the lifting mechanism drive is limited to a maximum tightening acceleration.
