Display units with vandalism deterrence are disclosed, along with related systems and methods. A controller in electronic communication with an electronic display and a network communication device of the unit initiates a vandalism deterrence protocol at the display unit in response to receipt, by way of the network communication device, of a signal from a second display unit indicating occurrence of a vandalism event at the second display unit.

Systems and methods for remotely monitoring digital signage are disclosed. A display assembly has components including a cooling fan, an electronic display, and a sensor which monitors, in substantially real time, an operating condition at the display assembly. A programmable controller is in electronic communication, by way of the internet, with the sensor and at least one of the components of the display assembly. A remote computer receives and stores, in substantially real time, data representative of actual performance of the operating condition from the sensor, automatically analyzes the actual performance data in comparison with preferred performance data for the operating condition stored at a database to determine if they differ by at least a preset threshold difference, and if so, automatically sends an electronic signal to the controller to adjust the actual performance of the operating condition to align with the preferred performance condition setting.

Where the controller determines that the data received from the shock sensor(s) is outside of one or more predetermined parameters, the controller initiates a vandalism detected signal, which may electronically and automatically cause changes to ongoing operations of some or all of the one or more electronic displays.

A unit controller causes a cumulative play count for each of the content items to be stored and maintained over time, redundancy check codes to be generated for the content items such that a respective code is consistently generated for each of the content items, and is consistently and consecutively generated for each of the static content items in each of the play instances, and where a consistent redundancy check code is consecutively generated for a respective one of the content items in a respective one of the play instances, cause the play count associated therewith to be incremented.

A proof of play information system, and related assemblies and methods are provided. Electronic display assemblies include media players providing content for display at electronic displays thereof, some of which includes static advertising images. A unit controller is electronically interposed between the media player and the electronic display. Redundancy check codes are generated for the content items transmitted from the media player to the electronic display. If a consistent redundancy check code is consecutively generated for a respective one of the content items, cause a play count associated with the respective one of the content items is incremented.

Server(s) receive data from the sensors and components of the display assemblies by way of local controllers and network connection devices of the display assemblies. Systems and methods for remotely monitoring digital signage. Display assemblies are provided, each having an electronic display, an additional component for operating the display assembly, a sensor for monitoring conditions at the display assembly, a local controller, and a network connection device. Remote server(s) execute software which establishes a data connection with each of the display assemblies, receives and stores data measurements made by the sensors of the display assemblies in a sensor specific and a display assembly specific manner, receives user data requests, and for each of the user data requests, generates data output displays including a user specified subset of the data measurements associated with a user specified subset of the sensors and a user specified subset of the display assemblies indicated in the respective user data request.
