A method is provided for enabling Narrowband Internet of Things (NBIOT) transport over fronthaul (FH) interface between distributed unit (DU) and radio unit (RU) for at least one of 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network and 5G New Radio (NR) network, which method includes: receiving, by an RU capable of at least one of NBIOT inband mode and NBIOT guardband mode, i) at least one of LTE and NR in-phase and quadrature (IQ) samples associated with a first endpoint, and ii) NBIOT IQ samples associated with a second endpoint; and configuring the RU functionality to be able to combine, in at least one of frequency domain and time domain, i) the at least one of LTE and NR in-phase and quadrature (IQ) samples associated with a first endpoint, and ii) the NBIOT IQ samples associated with a second endpoint.

A method of mitigating remote interference caused by an aggressor base station on a victim base station in an Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) system includes: adjusting, by the aggressor base station, a time domain position of a first remote interference management reference signal (RIM-RS) transmission from the aggressor base station to the victim base station to ensure the transmitted RIM-RS arrives at the victim base station coincidentally with a sounding reference signal (SRS) received by the victim base station; deriving, by the victim base station based on the received first RIM-RS, an angle of arrival (AoA) of the RIM-RS received from the aggressor base station; forwarding, by the victim base station, the angle of arrival (AoA) value for the RIM-RS to a controller module; and adjusting, by the controller module, an angle of departure (AoD) of a second RIM-RS transmission from the aggressor base station.

A method for measuring radio interference at a center Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) device (CBSD) of a selected network operator operating one of a 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network or a 5G New Radio (NR) network, includes: instructing, by a radio measurement controller, the center CBSD to perform measurement of radio interference caused by an interfering radio source; instructing, by the radio measurement controller, at least one neighboring CBSD to stop radio service for at least one coordinated blank orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing symbol (CBOS), wherein the at least one CBOS is defined by a selected frequency range and a selected blanking time in one of a subframe or a slot in one of a time division duplex (TDD) downlink (DL) configuration or a TDD uplink (UL) configuration; and processing, by an interference processor associated with the center CBSD, the measured radio interference.

There is provided, an open radio access network distributed unit (O-DU) having an electronic module that performs an FS-8 Radio Access Technology (RAT) functionality.

There is provided a method of switching between Discrete Fourier Transform spread Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (DFT-S-OFDM) and Cyclic Prefix-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (CP-OFDM) in a mobile communication system. The method is performed by a g NodeB (gNB), and includes (a) preparing a Medium Access Control (MAC) layer communication message that specifies which of DFT-S-OFDM or CP-OFDM will be used for an uplink (UL) waveform, and (b) dynamically transmitting the message to user equipment. There is also provided an apparatus that performs the method, and a storage device that contains instructions that cause a processor to perform the method.

A system providing passive intermodulation (PIM) interference cancellation in dual-band wireless network by utilizing a regular Tx and Rx as inputs for cancellation modeling. The system doesn't require an additional feedback circuit for modelling, making the circuits simple, cost-effective, and stable performance. It is proposed to use dual band modeling to apply separate dual-band PIM nonlinearity modeling, avoiding dealing with extremely high sampling rate with the conventional solution, where the dual bands are treated as a single band. The proposed approach makes the dual band PIM cancellation feasible. The system performing PIMI and PIMC filtering only on the UL band and decimates the cancellation sampling rate, the system performing: UL band modeling and cancellation by filtering out the unwanted spectrum, such as the transition band, and DL bands; and down-sampling on the filtered signal to further reduce the complexity and resource utilization.

With MR-DC, UE is connected to both MCG and SCG. When an MCG handover failure occurs, there is a defined method to categorize the handover failures and take corrective actions, however, for SCG handover failures, there are no defined categorizations and corresponding corrective actions currently available. The current method facilitates identification and categorization of SCG handover failures to be categorized as too early, too late and wrong cell handovers. By fine-tuning the handover parameters (based on the SCG handover failure type) SCG handover failure rates would be reduced significantly.

Described are implementations of base station Control Plane (CU-CP) of a gNB-CU or an eNB-CU-CP configured to request a Distributed Unit (DU) to remove a System Information Block 1 (SIB1) or broadcast a minimal SIB1 for a network gateway—and Automatic Neighbor Relation (ANR) or a 4G Mobility Management Entity/Serving Gateway (MME/S-GW). At a disconnection of the network gateway, the CU Control Plane of the base station sends a request to the DU of the base station to remove the SIB1, or to broadcast a minimal transmission of the SIB1.

Systems and methods for updating a UL split threshold for a 4G leg and 5G leg for split Data Radio Bearers (DRBs). A dynamic splitting solution can be implemented at 5G CU-UP, 5G DU, 4G DU, or other equivalent nodes. An interleaving approach at CU-UP minimizes Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) reordering at CU-UP. A Near-RT RIC-based approach for an exchange of relevant parameters via an E2 interface can be run at a Near-RT RIC server.

Described are systems and methods for updating a UL split threshold for a 4G leg and 5G leg for a number of split Data Radio Bearers (DRBs) using a Near-Real Time RIC or 5G Central Unit. A Near-Real Time RIC or 5G Central Unit subscribes to receive UL split threshold parameters from a gNB or eNB E2 node to determine whether to change the values of UL split threshold parameters for UL split DRBs. If so, the UL split threshold parameters are updated at the E2 node and communicated to the UE.
