The present disclosure relates to an aerosol delivery component comprising a tank defining a storage chamber for storing a first liquid aerosol precursor and an air bleed channel extending from an outside channel opening outside of the tank to an inside channel opening within the tank. The air bleed channel comprises an s-bend channel for retaining the first liquid aerosol precursor in an inverted orientation of the component. In this way, the air bleed channel may have a volume greater than 1% e.g. greater than 10% of the volume of the storage chamber.

The present disclosure relates to an aerosol delivery device and system e.g. a smoking substitute device and system. In particular an aerosol delivery device comprising: a movement detection unit configured to detect a movement of the device; a power source having a charge status; and a feedback element configured to provide feedback based on the charge status of the power source wherein the feedback element provides feedback in response to a movement of the device detected by the movement detection unit.

A system for controlling a smoking substitute device having a heating element. The system comprises a receiver module configured to receive a periodic signal. The periodic signal is in the form of a series of signal events. The system also comprises a sensor configured to determine a temperature of the heating element in response to the receipt of a signal event of the periodic signal by the receiver module, and a controller. If the determined temperature is below a predetermined threshold, the controller is configured to cause power to be supplied to the heating element for a heating period, the heating period being shorter than or equal to the period of the periodic signal.

An aerosol delivery device comprises: a storage for storing aerosol precursor liquid, the storage comprising an air bleed channel for permitting air to enter the storage as the storage empties of aerosol precursor in use; and a liquid transfer element for transferring aerosol precursor liquid from the storage to an aerosol generator, wherein the air bleed channel and the liquid transfer element are configured such that aerosol precursor liquid from the liquid transfer element forms an obstruction in the air bleed channel in use to reduce flow through the air bleed channel, the aerosol delivery device further configured such that the obstruction is removed to open the air bleed channel in response to a user drawing on the aerosol delivery device.

An aerosol delivery device comprises: a storage for storing an aerosol precursor; an aerosol generator comprising an aerosol generator portion configured to receive the aerosol precursor from the storage; an air flow passage configured to direct air past the aerosol generator portion to pick up the aerosol precursor from the aerosol generator portion to form an aerosol; and a barrier arrangement for inhibiting evaporation of aerosol precursor when the barrier arrangement is closed, the barrier arrangement being openable to permit generation of aerosol.

An aerosol delivery device comprises: a flow passage configured to provide fluid communication between a vaporizer and a mouthpiece aperture, so that the mouthpiece aperture receives a flow comprising an aerosol vapor formed from liquid vaporized by the vaporizer in use; and a turbulence inducing element, the turbulence inducing element located in the flow passage and configured to turn the flow towards a circumferential direction of the aerosol delivery device.

An aerosol delivery device comprises: an aerosol generator portion configured to receive a first aerosol precursor; an air flow passage configured to direct air past the aerosol generator portion to pick up the first aerosol precursor from the aerosol generator portion to form a first aerosol; and a support for maintaining the aerosol generator portion in a substantially central position in the air flow passage.
