Method for embolization treatment at a target site within a vessel using an endovascular embolization system. A microcatheter is navigated to the target site in the vessel. Via the microcatheter, only embolic solution is injected into the vessel. Aspirated fluid representing only a portion of the injected embolic solution present in the vessel is aspirated into the microcatheter to prevent the injected embolic solution present in the vessel from proximally migrating in the vessel. Alternatively, the injected embolic solution is prevented from proximal migration by occluding the vessel with the distal end of the microcatheter.

Method and system for embolization treatment at a target site within a vessel using an endovascular embolization system. A microcatheter is navigated to the target site in the vessel. Embolic solution is injected into the vessel. Proximal migration in the vessel of the injected embolic solution is prevented by injecting into the vessel a glucose solution.

An assemblable device including an intravascular catheter with a catheter shaft having an outer wall defining a single through lumen from a proximal end to an opposite distal end; proximate the distal end a portion of the outer wall of the catheter shaft is a membrane valve with an opening defined therein. The catheter shaft is devoid, free of, and has no dedicated fluid/inflation lumen. Instead, a separate, independent, removable fluid conduit device having a fluid lumen defined therein is assemblable so as to be slidable in the single through lumen of the intravascular catheter.

A clot removal device for removing clot from a body vessel comprising an expandable structure and an elongate member. The elongate member can have a proximal end and a distal end, the elongate member being connected to the expandable structure at its distal end. The expandable structure can have a constrained delivery configuration, an expanded clot engaging deployed configuration, and an at least partially constrained clot pinching configuration. At least a portion of the expandable structure can be configured to engage clot in the expanded deployed configuration and to pinch clot on movement from the deployed configuration to the clot pinching configuration.

Cyclic aspiration system including an aspiration catheter and a cyclic aspiration source connected in fluid communication thereto, wherein the cyclic aspiration pressure source produces a cyclic aspiration pressure waveform of intermittently cycling intervals of a vacuum pressure below atmospheric pressure and a positive pressure higher than the vacuum pressure. The system further including a non-powered internal structural impediment disposed within the lumen of the aspiration catheter and configured to engage with a clot capturable therein during resulting movement between the clot and the non-powered internal structural impediment while subject to the cyclic aspiration pressure waveform to assist in capture of the clot. The non-powered internal structural impediment may be permanently attached to the aspiration catheter or a separate component or device independently slidable within the lumen of the aspiration catheter.

An aspiration control device can have an aspiration control valve and a switch, button, slider, trigger, grip, lever, rotating wheel, rotating valve, handle or other interface for resizing the aspiration control valve. The aspiration control interface can be conveniently positioned and configured to be manipulated while simultaneously stabilizing a catheter and/or retracting an elongated member. The aspiration control device can be integrated with a hemostasis valve, integrated with a wire gripping device, and/or attached to an inlet, outlet, hose, pump, or syringe in series with an aspiration flow path.

A clot removal assembly for removing a clot from a vessel that includes a delivery catheter, a clot retrieval device, and a valve assembly is presented herein. In some examples, the clot retrieval device can include a cage structure and a shaft, and the cage structure can be configured to pinch a clot. A portion of the shaft extends through the delivery catheter. In some examples, the valve assembly can include a distal valve, a main body portion, a distal body portion, and a moveable head shell. The distal valve can be configured to engage the proximal region of the delivery catheter. In some examples, the distal body portion can include a plurality of grooves, and the moveable head can be configured to ratchet proximally over the plurality of grooves to thereby maintain tension on the shaft.

An aspiration catheter for assisting in the retrieval of a clot from a vessel of a patient including at least one electrode pair and a first pressure sensor positioned within an inner lumen of the aspiration catheter and a second and third pressure sensor positioned on an exterior surface of the aspiration catheter. The electrode pair and pressure sensors are in electrical communication with a control console. The control console is configured to modulate an aspiration vacuum pressure waveform pattern applied through the aspiration catheter based on electrical and pressure inputs from the one or more sensors, and optionally based on a blood pressure waveform pattern of the patient.

Endovascular medical system and method for preventing catching of a free terminating distal edge of a funnel catheter at a bifurcated vessel using a navigation device advanceable in a lumen of the funnel catheter and having a radially expandable section interposed between a tapered distal section and a proximal section. The radially expandable section of the navigation device in a radially expanded state has a maximum outer diameter substantially equal to the maximum inner diameter at the free terminating distal edge of the radially expandable distal section of the funnel catheter while in the radially expanded state. While traversing the bifurcated vessel, the radially expandable section of the navigation device in the radially expanded state prevents catching of the free terminating distal edge of the funnel catheter. Thereafter, the navigation device is collapsed and withdrawn from the funnel catheter.

An aspiration vacuum source comprises a vessel having a positive pressure fluid chamber and a vacuum chamber. The vacuum source having a primary tubing, and the positive pressure fluid chamber connected in fluid communication with the primary tubing via an auxiliary tubing. A fluid piston is slidably received within the positive pressure fluid chamber. A vacuum piston is slidably received within the vacuum chamber and produces a vacuum within the vacuum chamber upon movement of the vacuum piston. The fluid piston and the vacuum piston are each fixedly attached to be movable together within the positive pressure fluid chamber and the vacuum chamber, respectively. A secondary tubing is connected in fluid communication to the vacuum chamber. A manual pump is connected in fluid communication with the primary tubing. A vacuum is producible in the vacuum chamber in response to repeated manipulation of the manual pump.
