An absorbent core comprising a front portion; a back portion; a middle portion positioned between the front portion and the back portion; and a longitudinal axis extending along a length of said core and crossing said front, middle and back portions, the absorbent core having a width extending perpendicular to said length and a perimeter comprising at least two opposing ends and at least two opposing sides positioned between said ends wherein the absorbent core comprises one or more channels having a first shape when the absorbent core is in dry state and a second shape when the absorbent core is in wet state and wherein said first and second shapes are different.

An absorbent article comprising: a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, and an absorbent core positioned between said topsheet and backsheet, wherein the absorbent core comprises an absorbent material, said absorbent material comprising cellulose fibers and/or superabsorbent polymers, and wherein said absorbent material is contained within at least one core wrap substrate enclosing said absorbent material, and wherein a top layer of said core wrap is adhered to a bottom layer of said core wrap by a first adhesive to form one or more channel forming areas substantially free of said absorbent material, wherein said top layer comprises said first adhesive arranged to define a first adhesive area and said bottom layer comprises a second adhesive arranged to define a second area, wherein said first adhesive area is greater than said second adhesive area, and wherein said first and second adhesive areas comprise one or more adhesive stripes, wherein at least one of said adhesive stripes of the first adhesive area overlap said channel forming areas.

The present disclosure invention relates to a disposable absorbent article ( 100 ) comprising a liquid-pervious topsheet ( 10 ), a liquid-impervious backsheet ( 20 ) and an absorbent assembly ( 30 ) between the topsheet ( 10 ) and the backsheet ( 20 ). The absorbent assembly ( 30 ) comprises an absorbent core ( 40 ), an upper core wrap ( 50 ) and a lower core wrap ( 60 ). The absorbent core ( 40 ) comprises at least two cavities ( 70 ) free of absorbent material wherein the upper core wrap ( 50 ) and the lower core wrap ( 60 ) are permanently attached to each other, said cavities ( 70 ) being interconnected via at least one connecting line ( 80 ) comprising absorbent material. The absorbent core ( 40 ) has a first basis weight in the zone out of the cavities ( 70 ) and the connecting lines ( 80 ) and a second basis weight in the connecting lines ( 80 ), the first basis weight being greater than the second basis weight. in the cavities ( 70 ). The resulting absorbent assembly ( 30 ) may show all together a very good integrity, a very good distribution of fluids and a quick rate of absorption.

The present invention relates to absorbent articles ( 1 ) and arrays ( 10 ) of absorbent articles such as sanitary napkins, incontinence pads, baby or adult diapers or pants, comprising a body facing surface ( 20 ), a garment facing surface ( 12 ) and an absorbent core ( 4 ) between the body facing surface ( 20 ) and the garment facing surface ( 12 ). The body facing surface ( 20 ) comprises at least one central region ( 2 ) comprising a first plurality of discrete elements ( 5 a ) viewable from the body facing surface ( 20 ) and two flanking regions ( 3 a , 3 b ) comprising a second plurality of discrete elements ( 6 a ) viewable from the body facing surface ( 20 ). They are characterised in that the average perimeter of the elements from the central region is smaller than the average perimeter of the elements within the flanking regions. This may allow absorbent articles to have an improved structural functionality communication and an improved visual experience for the user.

The present disclosure relates to an array of disposable inserts ( 25,26 ) for an absorbent assembly ( 1 ), the array comprising: a first package comprising a plurality of first inserts ( 25 ) for an absorbent assembly ( 1 ), configured to be arranged on or at least partially within an outer shell ( 2 ); a second package comprising a plurality of second inserts ( 26 ) for absorbent assembly ( 1 ), configured to be arranged on or at least partially within an outer shell ( 2 ); each first and second insert ( 25,26 ) comprising a topsheet ( 8 ), a backsheet ( 9 ) and an absorbent core ( 10 ) comprising absorbent material ( 23 ) arranged in between the topsheet ( 8 ) and backsheet ( 9 ); the first insert ( 25 ) comprising a first absorbency as measured by method and the second insert ( 26 ) comprising a second absorbency as measured by method; wherein, the first absorbency is greater than the second absorbency. The disclosure also pertains to an absorbent assembly ( 1 ) and to an array of absorbent assemblies ( 1 ).

An absorbent article for personal hygiene such as a diaper, or training pant, or incontinence insert, the absorbent article comprising: a liquid permeable topsheet; a liquid impermeable backsheet; an absorbent core interposed between said topsheet and said backsheet, together forming an absorbent article chassis having a front edge, a back edge and oppositely disposed side edges connecting said front and back edges and running along a longitudinal axis y; an elastic-material-com prising component selected from the group consisting of: one or more cuffs extending substantially parallel to said side edges comprising one or more elastic elements; one or more transversal barriers extending substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis y and along said front and/or back edges, said transversal barriers comprising one or more elastic elements; one or more, preferably at least two, side panels comprising one or more elastic elements, said side panels being joined to said chassis about a proximal end thereof and having a distal end extending away from said chassis along a transverse axis x being substantially perpendicular to said longitudinal axis y; one or more elastic waistbands positioned adjacent said front and/or back edges comprising one or more elastic elements; and combinations thereof; and a detection device that can be removably attached to the absorbent article, wherein the elastic elements comprise a conductive material and/or coating and are in electrical communication with said detection device arranged to provide a signal upon a change in resistance or capacitance in response to a change in extension of said elastic element(s) ( 107 ).

A detection device comprising: a housing comprising a front face, a back face, and side edges connecting the front and back faces and disposed therebetween; and a clip element rotatably connected to the housing, wherein the clip element comprises one or more locking elements arrange to mechanically engage with at least a portion of the side edge when in a closed position, and wherein said clip element can be rotated from an open position, where the locking elements do not mechanically engage with said side edge, to said closed position, and wherein said detection device is suitable for coupling to an absorbent article and arranged such that when in said closed position at least one layer of said absorbent article is interposed between said housing and said clip element.

The present disclosure relates to an array of disposable absorbent articles adapted for different activities, the array comprising a first package comprising a plurality of pant-type absorbent articles ( 10 ), configured to be worn about the lower torso of a wearer and a second package comprising a plurality of pad-type absorbent articles ( 10 ′), configured to be fastened to an undergarment, wherein the absorbent core ( 1,1 ′) of said pant-type and said pad-type absorbent articles ( 10,10 ′) comprises absorbent material selected from the group consisting of cellulose fibers, superabsorbent polymers and combinations thereof, said absorbent material being contained within at least one core wrap substrate enclosing said absorbent material, and wherein a top layer of said core wrap is adhered to a bottom layer of said core wrap to form one or more channels ( 4 ) substantially free of said absorbent material.

The present invention relates to an absorbent core ( 1 ) for an absorbent article, comprising absorbent material and a continuous channel ( 4 ) substantially free of said absorbent material. Said channel ( 4 ) comprises at least (i) one longitudinally extending central section ( 41 ) coincident with the longitudinal center line (LCL), (ii) four longitudinally extending lateral sections ( 42 ), (iii) four diagonally extending diagonal sections ( 43 ), and (iv) one transversally extending ending section ( 44, 44′ ). A continuous channel made of at least these essential channel sections provides fast absorption, good liquid distribution throughout the entire core, improved fit and comfort and minimizes the risk of leakage.

An absorbent article for personal hygiene such as a diaper, or training pant, or incontinence insert, the absorbent article comprising: a liquid permeable topsheet; a liquid impermeable backsheet; an absorbent core positioned between said topsheet and backsheet; an indicator for indicating the presence of exudates and being positioned on a body-facing side of said backsheet, the indicator comprising a color-changing indicator; the article further comprising a detection device that can be removably attached to the absorbent article, wherein the detection device comprises an optical sensor and when attached to the absorbent article is positioned to overlap at least a portion of said indicator at a detection device position at the front of the absorbent article, and wherein the absorbent core comprises a core wrap enclosing absorbent material therein and wherein a top layer of the core wrap is joined to a bottom layer of the core wrap to form one or more channels substantially free of absorbent material, and wherein the indicator extends between at least portions of said channel(s) along the Y axis and is arranged such that it prolongs beyond the channel(s) at a first distance D1 towards front edge.
