An absorbent article comprising: a topsheet: a backsheet; and an absorbent core sandwiched between said topsheet and backsheet: said core comprising one or more channels being positioned inboard of an outer perimeter of said core formed by two opposed lateral edges connecting two opposed transversal ends of said core: wherein said article comprises an active composition that is applied in a pattern to one or more layers forming said article within an application zone being inboard of at least a portion of said outer perimeter and wherein said application zone is positioned inboard and/or outboard of said one or more channels such that it substantially does not overlap said one or more channels, said active composition providing skin care and/or odour control.

The current invention concerns an absorbent article ( 10 ) comprising an absorbent core ( 12 ) sandwiched between a liquid permeable topsheet ( 14 ) and a liquid impermeable backsheet ( 16 ), and an acquisition distribution layer ( 18 ) arranged between said topsheet ( 14 ) and said absorbent core ( 12 ), wherein the absorbent core ( 12 ) comprises at least an absorbent material layer. According to the invention the topsheet ( 14 ) consists essentially of an air-through bonded nonwoven layer and is free of spunbond nonwoven layers, the acquisition distribution layer ( 18 ) comprises a spunbonded and/or thermocarded nonwoven layer, and the absorbent core ( 12 ) comprises at least one channel ( 26 ) free of absorbent material. The invention also relates to the use of such an absorbent article ( 10 ), for managing liquid stool.

A package comprising a bag and a stack of absorbent articles, wherein the bag comprises a multilayer plastic film, in particular multilayer plastic composite film, based on plastic recyclate (recycled plastic). The plastic film has a plastic recycled content of at least 50 wt. % based on the plastic film. The one or more absorbent articles comprise at least 5 wt. % of recycled content based on the total weight of the absorbent article excluding the absorbent core material. The package has an eco-factor of at least 0.05 according to the method herein.

An absorbent article for personal hygiene, preferably a disposable pant, comprising: a substantially transversely extending front panel; a substantially transversely extending back panel; and a substantially longitudinally extending absorbent insert joined to each of said front and back panels, said absorbent insert comprising front and back transversal edges and left and right longitudinal edges connecting the front and back transversal edges to form a perimeter thereof and generally wherein the left and right longitudinal edges extend substantially along the longitudinal axis y and are oppositely disposed such that said longitudinal axis y extends therebetween, and the front and back transversal edges extend substantially along the transversal axis x, and typically substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis y, and are oppositely disposed such that said transverse axis x extends therebetween). The front and back panels are joined together to define a pair of side seams, and at least a portion of said absorbent insert proximal to the front and/or back transversal edges thereof comprises a transversal waist barrier comprising a substantially liquid impermeable film layer.

The present disclosure pertains to an absorbent article ( 1 ) for personal hygiene, preferably a disposable pant, comprising:—a substantially transversely extending front panel (2);—a substantially transversely extending back panel ( 3 ); and—a substantially longitudinally extending absorbent insert ( 4 ) joined to each of said front and back panels ( 2, 3 ), said absorbent insert ( 4 ) comprising front and back transversal edges and left and right longitudinal edges connecting the front and back transversal edges to form a perimeter thereof; wherein the front and back panels ( 2, 3 ) are joined together to define a pair of side seams, and characterised in that said article comprises a transversal waist barrier ( 5 ) proximal to the front and/or back transversal edges of the absorbent insert ( 4 ) wherein said barrier ( 5 ) comprises a plurality of liquid retarding layers and in that said barrier is in the form of a patch and from about 50% to about 75% of a perimeter thereof is joined to said insert ( 4 ) and/or panels ( 2, 3 ) such that an un-joined portion of said perimeter forms an opening to a containment pocket.

The present disclosure pertains to a method for the manufacture of an absorbent article ( 1 ), said method comprising the steps of: # providing a front panel ( 2 ); # providing a back panel ( 3 ); # providing an absorbent insert ( 4 ) comprising front and back transversal edges and left and right longitudinal edges connecting the front and back transversal edges to form a perimeter thereof; # folding a portion of said absorbent insert ( 4 ) proximal to the front and/or back transversal edges thereof onto itself, preferably in the shape of a substantially U-fold, to form transversal waist barrier(s) ( 5 ); # joining said insert ( 4 ) to said front and back panels ( 2, 3 ); and # joining said front and back panels ( 2, 3 ) together along a pair of oppositely disposed side seams. The present disclosure also relates to an apparatus ( 20 ) to manufacture an absorbent article ( 1 ) according to the present method.

An absorbent core for an absorbent article is provided an absorbent material, the absorbent core comprising one or more first zones comprising a first amount of absorbent material and one or more second zones comprising a second amount of absorbent material, wherein each second zone is at least partly delimited from the other second zones by the one or more first zones characterized in that the first amount of bulk absorbent material is different than the second amount of absorbent material, each amount of absorbent material being determined as weight per unit area.

A patch comprising: a base layer including a body-facing surface and a garment-facing surface; the base layer comprising a perimeter formed by a first and second transverse edge and first and second longitudinal edges connecting the first and second transverse edges; the garment-facing surface comprising a fastening means for releasable attachment to a re-usable outer shell, the body-facing surface comprising a fastening means for releasable attachment to a disposable insert.

An absorbent article comprising: a chassis comprising a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, and an absorbent core positioned between said topsheet and backsheet, and comprising a longitudinal axis (y) extending along a length of said chassis and a transverse axis being substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and extending along a width of said chassis, wherein said length extends along the longest dimension of said chassis; and at least one elastically elongatable panel joined to the chassis, wherein the elastically elongatable panel comprises: a. at least one cover layer; and b. an elastomeric film attached to the cover layer, wherein said least one cover layer and elastomeric film are joined by mechanical bonding at a plurality of discrete bonding elements, and wherein each said panel comprises a plurality of wrinkles having peaks and troughs formed on at least one of said cover layer, and wherein the said panel comprises a plurality of openings extending through the film and/or the cover layer(s) and wherein said openings are positioned outboard and/or inboard of said discrete bonding elements so that said openings and said bonding elements do not substantially coincide.

An absorbent article for personal hygiene comprising: a topsheet; a backsheet, wherein the topsheet is liquid permeable and the backsheet is substantially liquid impermeable; an absorbent core positioned between said topsheet and backsheet; a first indicator for indicating the presence of exudates and being positioned on a body-facing side of said backsheet, said first indicator comprising an electrically conductive material, wherein said article comprises a second indicator for indicating the presence of exudates and being positioned on a garment-facing side of said backsheet such that the first and second indicators are separated from each other at least in a thickness direction, said second indicator comprising an electrically conductive material, and wherein said first indicator comprises a first application pattern and said second indicator comprises a second application pattern, wherein said first and second application patterns are different.
