A computer-implemented method of processing repeat B-scans of an imaged region of a body part, the imaged region including an anatomical feature in a first subregion and vasculature of interest in a second subregion of the imaged region, to generate cropped B-scans for use in generating OCT angiography data which provides a representation of the vasculature of interest, the method comprising processing each B-scan of the repeat B-scans by: selecting a subset of the data elements of the B-scan such that the selected data elements are distributed along a representation of the anatomical feature in the B-scan; using the selected data elements to define a respective subregion of interest in the B-scan, which includes OCT data acquired from the second subregion containing the vasculature of interest; and cropping the B-scan to leave the subregion of interest in the B-scan.

An ophthalmic imaging instrument comprising a light source which emits a beam of light, a polygon scanning mirror comprising a plurality of reflecting facets each extending in a respective first direction in a plane of rotation of said mirror and in a common orthogonal second direction, a driver arranged to rotate said mirror such that each facet reflects the beam, an optical element which guides the reflected beam towards an eye and guides light returning from the eye towards the mirror, a detector which detects the returning light reflected from the mirror, and an aperture which constrains the returning light reaching the detector to be that reflected from a region of each facet which extends at least one of a same first distance on each facet in its respective first direction and a same second distance on each facet in the common second direction.

An OCT apparatus for acquiring optoretinography data, comprising: an optical system which applies an optical stimulus confined to a portion of a retina of the eye whose location is controllable; an OCT imaging system which acquires OCT data from the retina; and a controller which: acquires a duration of a physiological response of the retina in the optoretinography data to be acquired; acquires target locations on the retina and uses these to control the optical system to apply the optical stimulus to respective first portions of the retina at the respective target locations; controls the OCT imaging system to acquire, for each first portion, respective OCT data of the respective second portion of the retina over the duration indicated by the first indicator, which second portion is stimulated by the optical stimulus applied to the first portion; and generates the ORG data based on the acquired OCT data.

A movement mechanism ( 110 ) for an ophthalmic imaging apparatus ( 100 ) for imaging an eye ( 120 ) using light propagating along a first optical path and a second optical path, the movement mechanism arranged to move a first optical element into and out of the first optical path, and concurrently move a second optical element into and out of the second optical path, the movement mechanism arranged to rotate the optical elements between a first rotational position and a second rotational position such that the first and second optical element are: in the first and second optical path, respectively, when the optical elements are at the first rotational position and the imaging apparatus is operating in a first imaging mode; and out of the first and second optical path, respectively, when the optical elements are at the second rotational position and the imaging apparatus is operating in a second imaging mode.

A method of processing C-scan data, which comprises a sequence of B-scans of an imaging target acquired by an OCT imaging system, to generate correction data for compensating for axial displacements between B-scans in the sequence caused by a relative motion of the OCT imaging system and the imaging target that varies a distance therebetween during acquisition of the B-scans, the correction data being generated by determining, for each pair of adjacent B-scans of a plurality of pairs of adjacent B-scans in the sequence, a respective indicator of an axial shift between respective representations of a common ocular feature in the adjacent B-scans; and determining, from a variation of the determined indicators with locations of the corresponding pairs of adjacent B-scans in the sequence, a first frequency component of the variation which is indicative of the relative motion during acquisition of the B-scans.

An ophthalmic imaging instrument for imaging an eye of a subject, comprising: a light source arranged to emit a beam of light for imaging the eye; an optical system comprising a rotatable mirror and a drive mechanism arranged to drive the rotatable mirror to undergo a predetermined rotational motion to scan the beam of light across the eye; a rotary encoder coupled to the rotatable mirror so as to generate a signal indicative of a rotational motion of the rotatable mirror; and a processor arranged to detect when the rotational motion of the rotatable mirror indicated by the signal has deviated from the predetermined rotational motion and, in response to detecting that the rotational motion of the rotatable mirror has deviated from the predetermined rotational motion, generate a control signal to reduce an illumination of the eye by the beam of light.

An information processing apparatus that is communicably connected with another information processing apparatus, the information processing apparatus comprises: a processor configured to execute a program; and a storage device configured to store the program, the processor being configured to execute: acquisition processing of acquiring agreement information relating to the usage of subject eye image data of a patient by the other information processing apparatus; and transmission processing of transmitting the subject eye image data to the other information processing apparatus on the basis of the agreement information acquired by the acquisition processing.

A swept-source OCT imaging system for imaging a region of an object, comprising: a swept light source which generates a beam of varying wavelength; a scanning element which scans the beam across the object; an interferometer which generates interference light by combining light scattered by the object (owing to the scan) with reference light; a photodetector which generates an electrical signal (S) having frequency components spanning a frequency band and caused by interference of the scattered light with the reference light; a band-pass filter module which band-pass filters the electrical signal; and a sample acquisition module which samples the filtered electrical signal. The band-pass filter module extracts at least some of the frequency components spanning the frequency band from the electrical signal. The sample acquisition module band-pass samples the filtered electrical signal.

An ophthalmic device includes a scanning member, an objective lens, and an optical element. The objective lens includes a first lens group and a second lens group in order from the scanning member side. The optical element is capable of being inserted into and removed from an optical path between the second lens group of the objective lens and the scanning member. In a case in which the optical element is not inserted into the optical path, the objective lens configures a first observation optical system. In a case in which the optical element has been inserted into the optical path, the objective lens and the optical element configure a second observation optical system.

A method of processing optical coherence tomography angiography, OCTA, data comprising an array of columns of data elements to generate corrected OCTA data showing reduced projection artefacts in enface projection, the OCTA data having been generated from repeat B-scans, the method comprising: (i) calculating a correlation value indicative of a correlation between a first sequence of the data elements, whose respective locations within respective B-scans correspond to a location of a first data element within the array, and a second sequence of the data elements, whose respective locations within respective B-scans correspond to a location of a second data element within the array; (ii) calculating a correction for the second data element based on the first data element and the calculated correlation value; and (iii) applying the calculated correction to the second data element, wherein processes (i) to (iii) are performed multiple times to generate the corrected OCTA data.
