Aspects of the present invention relate to a test device comprising a housing configured to receive a test component, an inlet, integral with the housing, configured to receive body fluid; and a reservoir in fluid communication with the inlet and the test component. The inlet may be integral with the housing. Optionally the reservoir may comprise a recess in the upper wall of the housing and being in fluid communication with the inlet and the test component. Alternatively, the housing may comprise a projection from an upper wall of the housing extending into a cavity formed by the housing such that it contacts the test component to direct fluid from the reservoir along at least a part of the test component.

A lateral flow test apparatus comprising a housing and a test strip located within the housing. The apparatus further comprises a capillary tube having first and second ends, the first end configured to receive a fluid sample to be tested, and the second opposed end, the housing and the test strip defining an air gap between said second end and a fluid sample receiving region of said test strip, and a user actuable mechanism configured to move said receiving region across said air gap and into contact with said second end, whereby, in use, a sample fluid within said capillary tube is drawn from the capillary tube into said receiving region.

An injection device comprising a main housing, a drive mechanism for providing motive force to deliver medication, and a shield attached to a proximal end of the main housing, the shield being coupled to the drive mechanism so that inward movement of the shield causes release of the drive mechanism to provide said motive force, and the shield being biased towards an extended position. The injection device further comprises a plurality of sensors including an in-use sensor coupled between the main housing and the shield, and a monitoring and reporting unit electrically coupled to the sensors for monitoring use. In a lower power mode, the in-use sensor is monitored whilst the other sensors and components are inoperable and, in a higher power mode, the other sensors and components are operable. Upon detection by the in-use sensor of inward movement of the shield the monitoring and reporting unit is switched from the lower power mode to the higher power mode.

An autoinjector comprises a main housing for receiving a syringe or cartridge, and a drive mechanism located substantially within the main housing for providing motive force. The drive mechanism comprises a plunger driver movable through the housing, between a stationary start position and a stationary end position, to apply said motive force to a plunger of the syringe or cartridge. The autoinjector further comprises a contactless proximity sensor and detection feature, one of which is fixed with respect to the main housing and the other being fixed with respect to the plunger driver. When the plunger driver is in one of the stationary start position and the stationary end position, the detection feature is located at a position within a sensing region of the contactless proximity sensor and, for substantially all of the travel of the plunger driver between the stationary start position and stationary end position, the detection feature is located outside of the sensing region of the contactless proximity sensor.

An injection device comprising: a main body for receiving a syringe containing a medicament: and a drive mechanism within the main body and having a plunger driver movable through the main body. the drive mechanism comprising one or more drive springs that can be primed and released to move the plunger driver, the drive mechanism further comprising one or more damping elements of a resilient material for contacting the or each drive spring and thereby damp vibrations of the spring or springs following release.

A medicament delivery assembly for installation on a cartridge having a medicament chamber for containing a medicament; the medicament delivery assembly comprising a body for mounting on the cartridge; a hub comprising engagement means moveable from a first configuration where the resilient member is held in engagement with the body and a second configuration where the hub is moveable relative to the body; and a cannula mounted on the hub.

A pen needle and a method of using the pen needle. The pen needle includes a housing, a needle carrier in the housing supporting a needle, a distal shroud positioned around the needle within the housing, a distal compression spring positioned around the needle between the needle carrier and the distal shroud, a proximal shroud positioned around the needle within the housing, and a proximal compression spring positioned around the needle between the needle and the proximal shroud. The proximal shroud is movable between a first position, in which the proximal shroud engages the distal shroud to hold the distal shroud in engagement with the housing, and a second position in which the proximal shroud is disengaged from the distal shroud allowing the distal shroud to move in a distal direction to project from the housing and surround a distal end of the needle.

The present invention relates to an auto-injector. The auto-injector includes a housing for receiving a syringe having a plunger, a needle, and a barrel containing a dose of medicament; a drive mechanism configured to, when triggered by a user, automatically drive the plunger from a first position to a second position to expel the dose from the barrel of the syringe through the needle at a front end of the auto-injector; a detector arrangement configured to detect a state of the plunger including at least departure from the first position and arrival at the second position; and an indicator arrangement comprising a display having one or more electrically-operated display elements and configured to provide, responsive to the detector arrangement detecting the departure of the plunger from the first position, a visual indication comprising cycles of indications, the cycles of indications repeating until the detector arrangement detects the arrival of the plunger at the second position.
