Tonal musical instruments configured for outdoor installation are disclosed. The tonal musical instrument may comprise a support post, wherein the support post is configured for attachment to an outdoor surface, at least one a non-vibrating guard, a metal plate tuned to produce at least one note on a musical scale when struck by a user, and one or more fasteners securing the at least one non-vibrating guard and the metal plate to the support post.

The present disclosure relates to a set of components configured to be assembled together to produce a variety of different modular tables and the modular tables that are produced. The components and resulting tables may include at least one tabletop component; at least one seating surface; and at least one leg having a first end that can be affixed to an underside of the tabletop, a second end that can be affixed to an underside of the seating surface, and a central portion that is configured to rest on a ground surface. The components are configured so that a leg may be affixed to the tabletop at different locations, e.g. to produce different seating positions. Moreover, at least one of the tabletop components may be an “L”-shaped tabletop, which allows for the design of a large variety of different table and seating configurations.

An outdoor percussion mallet that provides a better user playing experience includes a mallet having a structural core that includes a cable extending through a bottom of the handle and terminating at a position within the interior of the mallet and a rigid tube surrounding the cable along at least a portion of the handle of the mallet. A flexible polymeric layer surrounds the structural core, e.g. a rubber layer may be molded directly onto the structural core to form the mallet. The mallet has a desired balance between flexibility and rigidity for playing percussion instruments. The opposite end of the cable may include an instrument-connection element that has increased strength relative to those used conventionally.

Playground spinning devices that provide children with a unique play experience that includes a combination of (a) rotation of a base relative to a support structure about a first axis of rotation and (b) rotation of a bowl relative to the base about a second axis of rotation. While the rotation of the base about the first axis of rotation is shared by all users of the spinning device, each user also experiences an individual second rotation of the bowl in which he or she sits.
