Examples relate to fluid collection devices, and related systems and methods. In an embodiment, a fluid collection device includes a fluid impermeable barrier, one or more openings, and a port. The fluid impermeable barrier at least partially defines a chamber and includes a proximal end region and a distal end region. The one or more openings are positioned to receive fluid discharged from a user and are in fluid communication with the chamber. The port is positioned at the proximal end region of the fluid impermeable barrier. The fluid collection device is adjustable between a vacuum-based orientation and a gravity-based orientation to withdraw fluid through the port of the fluid collection device.

Examples relate to systems, devices, and methods for removing fluid from a fluid collection device using a portable vacuum source operably coupled thereto. The fluid collection devices include urine collection devices shaped to complement the female or male anatomy near the respective urethras and the vacuum source is operably coupled to the fluid collection device via one or more sections of conduit.

Examples relate to systems, devices, and methods for collecting fluid from wearer of the fluid collection device. The fluid collection devices include porous material having one or more raised portions to fit within the female anatomy near the urethra. A fluid collection system includes a fluid collection device operably coupled to a fluid storage container and vacuum source via one or more sections of conduit.

An example fluid collection assembly includes a fluid impermeable layer. The fluid impermeable layer at least defines a chamber, at least one opening that allows bodily fluids to enter the chamber, and a fluid outlet that allows the bodily fluids to be removed from the chamber. The fluid collection assembly also include a porous material at least partially disposed in the chamber. The porous material includes a hydrophilic fluid permeable outer layer and a fluid permeable inner layer. The fluid permeable inner layer includes at least one of a foam or a non-woven material.

Examples relate to fluid collection devices, and related systems and methods. In some embodiments, a fluid collection device includes a fluid impermeable barrier and a fluid permeable body. The fluid impermeable barrier may at least partially define a chamber, an opening in fluid communication with the chamber, an aperture, and multiple fluid collection regions each angled relative to one or more adjacent fluid collection regions of the multiple fluid collection regions. One or more conduits may be positioned at least partially within the chamber and extending through or in fluid communication with the aperture in the fluid impermeable barrier. At least one inlet may be in fluid communication with the one or more conduits and positioned or positionable in each of the multiple fluid collection regions. The fluid permeable body may be positioned within the chamber and extend across at least a portion of the opening.

An example fluid collection assembly includes a fluid collection assembly defining an opening. The fluid collection assembly includes a fluid impermeable barrier defining at least a portion of a chamber and at least one porous material disposed in the chamber. The opening and the chamber of the fluid collection assembly are configured to receive at least a portion of a penis (e.g., at least the urethral opening of the penis). The fluid collection assembly also includes a skirt. The skirt is configured to attach the fluid collection assembly to an individual. To facilitate attachment to the individual, the skirt may exhibit a high flexibility. The high flexibility allows the skirt to be comfortably attached to the skin about the penis even when the size and/or topography of the skin about the penis varies and/or changes due to movement of the individual.

Fluid collection assemblies including a sample port, systems including the same, and methods of using the same are disclosed herein. An example fluid collection assembly includes a fluid impermeable barrier including a first end region, a second end region opposite the first end region, and a sump that forms at least a portion of the first end region. The fluid impermeable barrier also defines at least one opening between the first end region and the second end region and a fluid reservoir that is defined by at least a portion of the sump. The fluid collection assembly also includes at least one wicking material disposed in the chamber and a sample port extending from the sump. The sample port is configured to be connected to a fluid collector. The sample port is in fluid communication with the fluid reservoir such that a sample of the bodily fluids received by the fluid collection assembly may be obtained.

Example fluid collection devices and methods of assembling the fluid collection devices. The fluid collection devices include a fluid impermeable barrier and a fluid permeable body. The fluid impermeable barrier at least partially defines a chamber and includes an opening extending therethrough. The opening is configured to be positioned adjacent to or receive therein a urethra of a subject. The fluid permeable body has a singular porous material in a substantially cylindrical shape and positioned at least partially within the chamber.

An example urine suction device suitable for extracting urine from a urine collection device is disclosed. The suction device can include a motor, a pump driven by the motor, a conduit, and an acoustic silencer. The pump can extract urine from a urine collection device. The acoustic silencer can be in fluid communication with the pump and conduit. The acoustic silencer can attenuate or reduce one or more acoustic waves generated by the pump and/or the motor. One or more components or structures within the acoustic silencer can at least partially attenuate the acoustic waves as they propagate along a non-linear airflow path defined by the acoustic silencer.

Examples relate to fluid collection devices having a urethral cup, and related systems and methods. A fluid collection device includes a funnel, a body, a chamber outlet, and a fluid permeable structure. The funnel has a mouth with an outer periphery and narrows to a base defining an opening. The body includes a proximal end region and a distal end region distal to the funnel, and defines a chamber in fluid communication with the opening at the base of the funnel and extending from the opening beyond the outer periphery of the mouth of the funnel to the distal end region. The chamber outlet is in fluid communication with the chamber and positioned at the distal end region of the body. The fluid permeable structure is positioned within the chamber of the elongated body, and fills at least a portion of the chamber between the opening and the chamber outlet.
