A method of manufacturing a patient interface for sealed delivery of a flow of air at a continuously positive pressure with respect to ambient air pressure to an entrance to the patient's airways includes collecting anthropometric data of a patient's face. Anticipated considerations are identified from the collected anthropometric data during use of the patient interface. The collected anthropometric data is processed to provide a transformed data set based on the anticipated considerations, the transformed data set corresponding to at least one customised patient interface component. At least one patient interface component is modelled based on the transformed data set.

A head-mounted display system, comprising a head-mounted display unit comprising a display, a positioning and stabilising structure structured and arranged to hold the head-mounted display unit in an operational position over a user's face in use; an interfacing structure constructed and arranged to be in opposing relation with the user's face, the interfacing structure comprising a face engaging portion configured to contact the user's face; and a shroud. The shroud comprises a frame, comprising a posterior portion connected to the face engaging portion, an anterior portion defining a viewing opening through which the display may be viewed in use; and a radially outward facing light-blocking surface extending between the posterior portion and the anterior portion.

A method for canceling noises generated by a respiratory system that is configured to supply pressurized air to a user during a sleep session comprises generating sound data using a microphone; generating, using or one or more sensors, respiration data associated with respiration of the user of the respiratory system; analyzing the sound data to determine if noise associated with operation of the respiratory system is occurring; and causing a speaker to emit sound waves based at least in part on (i) the sound data, (ii) the respiration data, (iii) data related to the operation of the respiratory system, or (iv) any combination of (i), (ii), and (iii), the emitted sound waves being configured to acoustically cancel at least a portion of the noise associated with operation of the respiratory system.

An apparatus for humidifying a flow of breathable gas includes a water reservoir including a chamber structured to hold a volume of water, a water reservoir dock structured and arranged to receive the water reservoir in an operative position, and a latch movable between (1) a locked position to releasably lock the water reservoir to the water reservoir dock in the operative position, and (2) an unlocked position to allow insertion of the water reservoir into the water reservoir dock and removal of the water reservoir from the water reservoir dock.

A gas conduit for respiratory apparatus includes a lumen for passage of a breathable gas to a patient and a flexible conduit wall surrounding the lumen. The flexible conduit wall has a humidification apparatus for delivering water vapour into the gas passing through the lumen.

Methods and apparatus provide acoustic detection for automated devices such as respiratory treatment apparatus. In some embodiments of the technology, acoustic analysis of noise or sound pulses, such as a cepstrum analysis, based on signals of a sound sensor permits detection of obstruction such as within a patient interface, mask or respiratory conduit or within patient respiratory system. Some embodiments further permit detection of accessories such as an identification thereof or a condition of use thereof, such as a leak. Still further embodiments of the technology permit the detection of a patient or user who is intended to use the automated device.

A gas delivery conduit adapted for fluidly connecting to a respiratory gases delivery system in a high flow therapy system, the gas delivery conduit includes a first connector adapted for connecting to the respiratory gases delivery system, a second connector adapted for connecting to a fitting of a patient interface, tubing fluidly connecting the first connector to the second connector where the first connector has a gas inlet adapted to receive the supplied respiratory gas, one of electrical contacts and temperature contacts integrated into the first connector. The gas delivery conduit further can include a sensing conduit integrated into the gas delivery conduit, where the first connector of the gas delivery conduit is adapted to allow the user to couple the first connector with the respiratory gases delivery system in a single motion.

A head-mounted display system includes a positioning and stabilising structure structured and arranged to hold a display unit in an operational position over a user's face in use and an interfacing structure for the display unit constructed and arranged to be in opposing relation with the user's face. The interfacing structure comprises a substantially continuous face engaging surface adapted to contact the user's face around a periphery of the user's eyes. The interfacing structure comprises silicone. The interfacing structure is configured and arranged such that force applied to the user's face is distributed around the periphery thereof. The interfacing structure comprises a first compliance at a first region and a second compliance at a second region, wherein the first region and the second region are configured around the periphery of the interfacing structure to allow selective distribution of the force onto the user's face.

A shroud for a respiratory mask system includes an annular retaining portion forming a hole sized to removably receive a cushion module. The shroud provides a pair of upper headgear connectors, each having an upper arm extending from the retaining portion and a slot at a free end to receive a headgear strap. A pair of lower headgear connectors are also provided, each with a lower arm extending from the retaining portion and configured to connect to a headgear clip. The upper arms are arranged to extend along the patient's cheeks and between the eyes and ears.
