Methods and devices for retrospectively assessing continuous monitoring reference pattern data to determine a risk of a patient glucose level measurement taken in at least one data segment being outside a predetermined range. The methods and devices can include executing an algorithm to compare risk scores derived from reference pattern data in a currently collected data segment with risk scores of previously stored reference pattern data of previously collected data segments for a patient for assessing risk.

An analytical method for determining a concentration of an analyte in a bodily fluid uses a mobile device having a camera. The camera captures an image of a test region having a sample of the bodily fluid applied thereto. The image includes at least a part of a hydrochromic indicator field that exhibits an optically detectable color change at a pre-determined threshold level of relative humidity rH threshold(m) . From the color of the hydrochromic indicator field, an estimate value rH estimate of the local relative humidity is derived and, based on the estimate value rH estimate , an applicable range of relative humidity rH appl-range(n) is selected. The concentration of the analyte from a color of the reagent test region in the image is determined, taking into account the applicable range of relative humidity rH appl-range(n) .

Detection reagents, multi-analyte test elements, test systems, and multi-analyte measuring methods are provided. In particular, multi-analyte test elements have (1) a first working electrode and first counter electrode pair covered with a first analyte-specific reagent that includes an enzyme, a coenzyme and a first mediator and have (2) a second working electrode covered with a second analyte-specific reagent that includes an enzyme, a coenzyme and a second mediator, where the second mediator is different than the first mediator. The single counter electrode can be used as the counter electrode for both the first and second analyte measurements at their respective working electrodes. Moreover, the mediator concentrations, measurement ranges, and applied potential differences are not the same for each analyte-specific measurement.

A method for detecting a failure of at least one component of a continuous analyte monitoring system is disclosed. The continuous analyte monitoring system has a failure detection resistor and an analyte sensor having at least two measurement electrodes. A constant voltage is applied between the two measurement electrodes and a first response signal is measured. A failure detection signal that is distinguishable from the constant voltage and/or from the first response signal in frequency and/or in height is applied to the continuous monitoring system, and a second response signal to the failure detection signal is measured using the failure detection resistor. Information is determined depending on at least one actual property of the component by evaluating the first response signal and the second response signal. A failure is detected if the information deviates from an expected value by more than a predetermined tolerance.

A computing device may provide access to information related to the medical condition or health of the user in the form of an overlay notification when the computing device is displaying a graphical user interface. The overlay notification may be dynamically and/or continuously updated on the graphical user interface of the device in response to updated data. The overlay notification may be enabled/disabled in response to overlay notification triggering events/overlay notification removal events. When multiple types of information are to be displayed at a time, the computing device may group the information into a common overlay notification that may be updated dynamically and/or continuously in response to updated data. As the information that is provided in the overlay notification may be sensitive information, the information in the overlay notification may be prevented from being displayed until additional input is received from the user.

A method of titrating an antidiabetic for a patient is disclosed, along with a system for performing the method. The method includes providing a database having anonymized personal parameters for a plurality of previously managed subjects and generating cohorts from the plurality of previously managed subjects based on similarities in the anonymized personal parameters. The method further includes receiving patient specific personal parameters and identifying from the generated cohorts a patient similar cohort corresponding to the patient specific personal parameters. A titration output parameter to optimize may either be entered or computed. Based on the titration output parameter to optimize and the patient similar cohort, a customized titration protocol for the patient can then be derived.

A method for medication bolus calculation has been developed. The method includes receiving physiological measurements from an analyte sensor coupled to a user, receiving data corresponding to at least one meal event including a timestamp corresponding to when a meal was consumed, identifying a missed meal event time corresponding to a meal consumed by the user but not to the timestamp of any meal event, the recommended bolus being calculated based, at least in part, upon an length of time elapsed from the missed meal event time to a current time, and generating an output message indicating the recommended bolus of the medication.

A method of performing an analytical measurement includes using a camera of a mobile device to capture a time series of images of at least a part of a medical article. From this, image-derived position information on a relative position of the mobile device and the medical article is derived, thereby generating a first time series of position information. A sensor captures measurement information on the relative position of the mobile device and the medical article. Measurement-derived position information is used to generate a second time series of position information, and the first and second time series of position information are combined to generate an augmented time series of position information. From this, guidance is provided to a user to move the mobile device and the medical article into a relative target position. A mobile device, a kit and a computer program are also disclosed.

A connector ( 20 ) for securing a sensor ( 32 ) to a circuit member ( 34 ). The connector includes a first member ( 22 ) have at least one first engagement surface ( 26 ) and a second member ( 24 ) having at least one second engagement surface ( 28 ). The first engagement surface engages the second engagement surface when the first member and the second member are secured together. A biasing member ( 30 ) is coupled with one of the first and second members and exerts a biasing force forcing the first engagement surface into contact with the second engagement surface and is also adapted to bias the sensor ( 32 ) into engagement with the circuit member ( 34 ). The engagement of the first and second engagement surfaces may conductively couple the first and second members whereby the sensor may be conductively coupled with the circuit member via the connector. A method of assembling a sensor assembly using the connector is also disclosed.
