A field device comprising a first loop terminal and a second loop terminal; a measurement unit; a loop current control device for controlling the loop current to encode a process variable determined by the measurement unit, the loop current control device being provided in the electric circuit between the first loop terminal and an a first node of the electric circuit; an asymmetrically conducting device provided in the electric circuit between the first node of the electric circuit and a second node of the electric circuit; an energy storage device in the electric circuit between the second node of the electric circuit and the second loop terminal; and a controllable shunt regulator provided in the electric circuit between the first node of the electric circuit and the second loop terminal, wherein the measurement unit is in the electric circuit between the second node and the second loop terminal.

A microwave transmission arrangement, comprising a microwave circuit board including a patch; microwave transceiver circuitry coupled to the patch; an electrically conductive hollow waveguide arranged to guide microwave signals between a first end and a second end; and a separator sheet sandwiched between the microwave circuit board and the first end of the hollow waveguide, the separator sheet being configured to allow passage of microwaves between the patch and the hollow waveguide through the separator sheet. The separator sheet is included in an encapsulation separating an encapsulated interior of the microwave transmission arrangement from an exterior outside the encapsulation, the patch, and the microwave transceiver circuitry being in the encapsulated interior, and the hollow waveguide being in the exterior outside the encapsulation.

A field device system determine a process variable and includes processing circuitry connected to a sensing unit for determining a process variable; a power interface arranged to receive power from a power supply, and power management circuitry to provide power at an operating voltage to the sensing unit and the processing circuitry, the power management circuitry includes: a first voltage converter receiving a drive voltage from the power interface and supplying an intermediate voltage higher than the operating voltage; a capacitive energy storage charged by the intermediate voltage; a second voltage converter receiving an input voltage from the capacitive energy storage and to provide the operating voltage; a voltage feedback circuit configured to determine an output voltage of the capacitive energy storage; and a control circuit controlling the first voltage converter to charge the capacitive energy storage based on the output voltage of the capacitive energy storage.

Method of transferring a certificate to a field device, the method comprising, by a mobile device comprising first processing circuitry and first NFC-circuitry: acquiring a certificate and storing the certificate on the mobile device; establishing NFC communication between the mobile device and a field device comprising second processing circuitry and second NFC-circuitry; transferring the certificate to the field device; storing the certificate on the field device; and closing the NFC communication between the mobile device and the field device.

A microwave transmission arrangement, comprising an electrically conductive hollow waveguide having a first waveguide portion, a second waveguide portion between the first waveguide portion and a first end of the hollow waveguide, and a conductive transition surface of the hollow waveguide forming a transition between the first waveguide portion and the second waveguide portion; and a microwave circuit board including a dielectric carrier, and a first conductor pattern on a first side of the dielectric carrier, the first conductor pattern including a patch for radiating or receiving microwave signals in the predefined wavelength range, and a first ground plane surrounding the patch, wherein the first ground plane of the microwave circuit board is in conductive contact with the first end of the hollow waveguide, and extends into the second waveguide portion cross-section area to define at least one conductive pocket together with the second waveguide portion and the transition surface of the hollow waveguide.

A microwave transmission arrangement, comprising a microwave circuit board including a patch; microwave transceiver circuitry coupled to the patch; an electrically conductive hollow waveguide arranged to guide microwave signals between a first end and a second end; and a separator sheet sandwiched between the microwave circuit board and the first end of the hollow waveguide, the separator sheet being configured to allow passage of microwaves between the patch and the hollow waveguide through the separator sheet. The separator sheet is included in an encapsulation separating an encapsulated interior of the microwave transmission arrangement from an exterior outside the encapsulation, the patch, and the microwave transceiver circuitry being in the encapsulated interior, and the hollow waveguide being in the exterior outside the encapsulation.

A microwave transmission arrangement, comprising an electrically conductive hollow waveguide having a first waveguide portion, a second waveguide portion between the first waveguide portion and a first end of the hollow waveguide, and a conductive transition surface of the hollow waveguide forming a transition between the first waveguide portion and the second waveguide portion; and a microwave circuit board including a dielectric carrier, and a first conductor pattern on a first side of the dielectric carrier, the first conductor pattern including a patch for radiating or receiving microwave signals in the predefined wavelength range, and a first ground plane surrounding the patch, wherein the first ground plane of the microwave circuit board is in conductive contact with the first end of the hollow waveguide, and extends into the second waveguide portion cross-section area to define at least one conductive pocket together with the second waveguide portion and the transition surface of the hollow waveguide.
