A circular knitting machine includes a needle-holding cylinder, having longitudinal grooves arranged around a central axis and housing a plurality of needles, and a needle-holding ring having radial grooves housing a plurality of holding-down sinkers, wherein each needle is paired with at least one respective adjacent sinker so as to form a needle-sinker assembly; each needle-sinker assembly includes a pre-selection element paired with the respective needle and comprising a connecting portion and an activation element comprising an operating portion, the pre-selection element is vertically movable to a pre-selection configuration in which the connecting portion is engaged into a connecting seat defined in the sinker, whereas the activation element is horizontally movable, until acting upon the pre-selection element, so that the connecting portion causes a movement of the sinker in the radial groove towards the central axis, thus performing an activation of the sinker.

A knitting system 18 and a needle 1 , which show greater stability and consume less power during the knitting process, include a bending portion 9 in which at least one recess 11 is arranged at at least one lateral surface 23 of the needle 1 and/or is formed in such a manner that a shaft offset S exists, in a peripheral direction U, between a working portion 10 of the needle 1 and a shank portion 8 of the needle 1.

A circular knitting machine for knitwear, comprising a needle-holding cylinder, having longitudinal grooves housing a plurality of needles, and a needle-holding ring, having radial grooves housing a plurality of holding-down sinkers, and wherein each needles is paired with an adjacent sinker to form a needle-sinker assembly; the knitting machine comprises, for each needle-sinker assembly, a pre-selection element paired with the respective needle and comprising a connecting portion selectively cooperating with the sinker belonging to the same needle-sinker assembly; each radial groove has a rear section and a front section; the front section is wider than the rear section and configured for laterally containing and guiding the connecting portion of the pre-selection element.

A process for manufacturing a textile item by means of a circular weft knitting machine, of seamless type and provided at least with a feed, a needle-bearing organ supporting a plurality of needles, and a plurality of knockover sinkers provides the programming of the knitting machine so as to define a textile item consisting of a plurality of successive stitch rows of knitted fabric in succession, and to produce weft knitted fabric for manufacturing the textile item, according to the programming step. In the programming step is set at least a designed motif, defined on at least two successive stitch rows, i.e. following one another, in which: in at least one of the two successive rows a portion of terrycloth knitted fabric is present; in at one of the two successive rows a portion of floated knitted fabric is present.

A drive chain for stitch formation members of a circular knitting machine includes an element coupled or to be coupled with a stitch formation member and an oscillating lever connected to said element on a junction area. The oscillating lever is configured for interacting with selecting devices so as to oscillate with respect to said element. The element comprises a first portion carrying a first butt and a second portion configured for slidingly coupling with a bottom of a respective groove. Along a main direction of development of the drive chain, the junction area is placed between the stitch formation member and the first butt.

A process for manufacturing a textile item by means of a circular weft knitting machine, of seamless type and provided at least with a feed, a needle-bearing organ supporting a plurality of needles, and a plurality of knockover sinkers, provides the programming of the knitting machine so as to define a textile item consisting of a plurality of successive stitch rows (R) of knitted fabric in succession, and to produce weft knitted fabric for manufacturing the textile item, according to the programming step. In the programming step is set at least a designed motif, defined on at least two successive stitch rows, i.e. following one another, in which in at least one of the two successive rows a portion of terrycloth knitted fabric(S) is present. The designed motif is defined on a plurality of consecutive rows and consists of a serial repetition, for a certain number of times more than 1, of the two successive stitch rows, so as to obtain a structure with alternating rows, consisting of an alternating sequence of first rows and second rows of the two successive rows.

A process for making a garment, provided at least with a trunk (T), a right sleeve (MD) and a left sleeve (MS), includes the steps of: producing a tubular textile article ( 3 ), by means of a textile machine, having a shape with cylindrical surface extended around a central axis (X) between an upper edge ( 4 ) and a lower edge ( 5 ), wherein on the tubular textile article a front side ( 6 ) and a rear side ( 7 ) are definable, divided from each other with respect to a median plane (A); defining or identifying the textile article a plurality of cutting lines; cutting the textile article along the plurality of cutting lines so as to define and separate a plurality of fabric portions from one another; joining the fabric portions so as to obtain the trunk (T) of the garment, the right sleeve (MD) and the left sleeve (MS). Following the joining step, the garment ( 1 ) obtained from the tubular textile article exhibits zones of passage between the trunk (T) and the right (MD) and left (MS) sleeves lacking seams or discontinuities in the fabric, i.e. the passage from the fabric of the trunk to the fabric of the right and left sleeves occurs without interruptions.

A drive chain for stitch formation members of a circular knitting machine includes an element coupled or to be coupled with a stitch formation member, and an oscillating lever connected to said element on a junction area. The oscillating lever is configured for interacting with selecting devices so as to oscillate with respect to said element. The element comprises a first portion carrying a first butt and a second portion configured for slidingly coupling with a bottom of a respective groove. The first portion is elastically coupled with the second portion so as to keep the first butt in an operating position in which the first butt protrudes from the groove and to allow the first butt to get back into the groove in case of interference with one of the first actuating cams.

A support and control device to be mounted in a circular knitting machine provided with a supporting structure, a rotating component-holding unit, and a plurality of stitch formation components, includes a support body provided with a mounting portion having a front side and a rear side. The front side faces the component-holding unit and is provided with at least one cam defining a guiding path which interacts with respective butts of the stitch formation components. The device includes at least one through opening between the front side and the rear side, open on the guiding path, which defines an empty space placing the guiding path of the cam in direct communication with an outside of the device, so that the respective butts of the stitch formation components are facing, and in direct communication with, the empty space.
