A trigger return and safety mechanism are mountable on a frame of a firearm. The trigger is mountable on the frame and pivotable about a trigger pivot axis. A strut is pivotably attached to the trigger at a strut pivot axis oriented parallel to and offset from the trigger pivot axis. The strut comprises a spring bearing surface and a safety bearing surface. A spring acts between the spring bearing surface and the frame for biasing the trigger into a reset position after the trigger has been pulled. A body is mountable on the frame, the body being movable between a first position wherein the body is not engageable with the safety bearing surface, thereby allowing pivoting motion of the trigger, and a second position wherein the body is engageable with the safety bearing surface thereby limiting pivoting motion of the trigger.

An upper receiver assembly for a firearm includes an upper receiver, an equipment rail, and an equipment rail key. The equipment rail key couples to the upper receiver with a portion of the equipment rail between the equipment rail key and the upper receiver to secure the equipment rail to the upper receiver. The equipment rail and equipment rail key cooperate to define a cam interface. The cam interface is configured to cause the equipment rail to be drawn against the upper receiver when the equipment rail key is secured against the upper receiver.

An assembly for holding a bolt of a firearm in an open position is disclosed. The assembly comprises a bolt catch pivotable about a first axis toward and away from a catching position. In the catching position, a portion of the bolt catch is within a path of travel of the bolt. A follower transfer adapter is pivotable about a second axis. The follower transfer adapter includes an engagement portion that is configured to engage a follower of a magazine. Optionally, the follower transfer adapter includes an overhang lip that extends transversely to the longitudinal axis of the firearm and into a path of travel of the follower to define the engagement portion. The engagement portion is positioned between the second axis and the bolt catch along the longitudinal axis of the firearm. A linkage transfers rotational movement of the follower transfer adapter to rotation of the bolt catch.

A magazine well assembly for connecting a magazine to a firearm. The magazine well assembly has a housing defining a magazine receiving space. The magazine receiving space Is adapted to receive the magazine. At least one first connector is configured to removably couple the housing to a lower receiver of the firearm.

An upper receiver and lower receiver assembly for a firearm. The upper receiver and lower receiver assembly comprises an upper receiver. The upper receiver comprises a body having a rearward end and a first engagement surface proximate to the rearward end. A lower receiver comprises a housing configured to couple with the upper receiver. The housing has a rearward end and a second engagement surface proximate to the rearward end. The second engagement surface defines a recess adapted to receive the first engagement surface to provide an interlocking relationship between the upper and lower receivers. A firearm comprising the upper receiver and lower receiver assembly and a method of assembling the upper receiver and lower receiver assembly are disclosed.

A lower receiver includes a polymer main body having an outer surface and defining an interior. The interior of the polymer main body defines a first socket. A grip attachment body is receivable, along a first axis, into the first socket of the interior of the polymer main body. The grip attachment body includes a first threaded insert that is configured to receive a fastener for securing a grip to the lower receiver.

A charging handle assembly for a rifle has a body extending along a first axis. The body comprises a first side, a second side oppositely disposed, and an opening therebetween. A first handle is connected to the first side and extends away from the body along the first axis. A second handle is connected to the second side and extends away from the body along the first axis. A rod, comprising a first end and a second end, extends through the opening along a longitudinal axis oriented transversely to the first axis. A return spring acts between the body and the first end of the rod and biases the body towards the second end of the rod. The body is movable between the first end and the second end of the rod and compresses the spring when moving towards the first end.

A firearm accessory and an end cap useful with the firearm assembly. The firearm assembly handles exhaust gas expelled with a round fired from a firearm and includes a fitting, a sleeve, a fluid pressure dissipation structure, and an end cap assembly located at a distal end of the fluid dissipation structure. The sleeve defines an internal volume that at least partially receives the fluid dissipation structure. The end cap assembly and the fluid dissipation structure at least partially define one or more distal chambers in communication with the internal volume. The end cap assembly defines an angled port.

An ammunition magazine is disclosed including a tube surrounding a central space and having first and second ends oppositely disposed and having a first opening being positioned at the first end providing access to the central space. A spacer surrounds the tube proximate to the first end. A catch plate is integrally formed with the spacer. A butt plate is attached to the first end and overlies a portion of the spacer. The spacer being is captured between the butt plate and the tube. A fastener is positioned on the catch plate and engages the butt plate to retain the butt plate to the spacer.
