The present disclosure provides a micro sheath buffer tube with rollable optical fiber ribbons for optical fiber cable to reduce the overall cable diameter. The buffer tube indicates one or more subunits, a micro sheath layer and a plurality of water swellable yarns. The one or more subunits encloses a plurality of optical fiber ribbons. Each optical fiber ribbon of the plurality of optical fiber ribbons includes 12 optical fibers. Further, each of a plurality of optical fibers is a colored optical fiber. In addition, the micro sheath layer surrounds the one or more subunits. Furthermore, the one or more subunits has a coating layer of low smoke zero halogen material.

The present invention relates to an optical fiber cable ( 100 ) comprising an optical fiber unit ( 102 ), optical fiber ( 104 ), a tight buffer layer ( 106 ), a sheath ( 108 ), a plurality of strength members ( 110 a, 110 b, 110 c ), a water swellable element ( 112 ) and a filling strength member (SM) 114 . In particular, the optical fiber cable ( 100 ) is an all-dielectric communication cable with a preferential bending ratio between 1-2. Moreover, the strength members ( 110 a, 110 b, 110 c ) have an elastic modulus greater than 45 GPa and each strength member of the plurality of strength members ( 110 a, 110 b, 110 c ) has a diameter between 0.4 mm to 0.8 mm.

The present invention provides a hardened connector ( 100 ) configured to engage with a port ( 52 ) of an optical fiber terminal ( 50 ) comprises a multi-part assembly ( 102 ) with protruded skirt ( 108 ) positioned between a front end ( 104 ) and a rear end ( 106 ); a first intermediate portion ( 110 ) positioned between the rear end ( 106 ) and the protruded skirt ( 108 ) and a channel ( 130 ) formed between plurality of extended fingers and a recessed portion ( 118 ) configured to receive a mating protrusion ( 56 ) provided in the port, thereby enabling alignment of the hardened connector in the port of the optical fiber terminal. The protruded skirt ( 108 ) and the first intermediate portion ( 110 ) enable locking of the hardened connector ( 100 ) within the port, when the front end of the hardened connector is pushed into the port.

The present invention provides a hardened connector ( 100 ) for engaging at least one optical fiber ( 52 ) with an optical fiber terminal ( 70 ), the hardened connector ( 100 ) comprising: a first part ( 102 ), a second part ( 104 ), and a third part ( 106 ); the hardened connector ( 100 ) comprising an alignment mechanism ( 108 ) formed when at least two or the first part ( 102 ), the second part ( 104 ), and the third part ( 106 ) are engaged.

The present invention provides a converter unit ( 100 ) for convert a hardened connector ( 50 ) with small diameter into another hardened connector with large diameter such that the same hardened connector ( 50 ) compatible with two different types of fiber terminals i.e. small sized (new generation box) and large sized (old generation box). The converter unit ( 100 ) comprises an arrester unit ( 102 ) mounted over the small sized hardened connector via threaded lock, a shroud unit ( 104 ) coupled to the arrester unit ( 102 ) and a coupling nut ( 108 ) encapsulated over the shroud unit ( 104 ) to exhibit rotational and transaction movement over the shroud unit ( 104 ). Further, a first end ( 110 ) of the coupling nut ( 108 ) is restrained by the arrester ( 104 ) and a second end ( 112 ) of the coupling nut ( 108 ) being restricted by a shoulder ( 106 ) provided on the shroud unit ( 104 ).

The present invention relates to an optical fiber cable ( 100, 200, 300 ) comprising a plurality of tubes ( 104 ) and a sheath ( 114 ) encapsulating the plurality of tubes ( 104 ) with a plurality of optical fibers ( 106 ). At least one tube of the plurality of tubes ( 104 ) has young's modulus that is different from other tubes and the young's modulus that is at least 30% more than young's modulus of the other tubes. In particular, the plurality of tubes ( 104 ) is arranged in an innermost layer ( 108 ) and an outermost layer ( 110 ). Additionally, young's modulus of the innermost layer ( 108 ) is greater than young's modulus of the outermost layer ( 110 ). Further, the diameter of the central strength member ( 102 ) is in a range of 1.5 millimetres to 6 millimetres.

The present disclosure provides an optical fiber cable ( 10 ) comprising: one or more optical fibers ( 12, 12 1 , 12 2 , 12 3 , 12 4 ); and a sheath ( 14 ) surrounding the one or more optical fibers ( 12, 12 1 , 12 2 , 12 3 , 12 4 ). Moreover, the sheath ( 14 ) comprising a plurality of ribs ( 16 1 , 16 2 , 16 3 , 16 4 ) and a plurality of grooves ( 18 1 , 18 2 , 18 3 , 18 4 ) on an outer surface and extending along a length of the optical fiber cable ( 10 ). Further, the one or more grooves ( 18 1 , 18 2 , 18 3 , 18 4 ) has a protuberant profile ( 20 1 , 20 2 , 20 3 , 20 4 ) at the outer surface of the sheath substantially in the middle of the one or more grooves ( 18 1 , 18 2 , 18 3 , 18 4 ) at one or more cross-sections of the optical fiber cable ( 10 ).

The present disclosure provides an optical fiber cable ( 10 ) comprising: a core ( 12 ); and a sheath ( 14 ) surrounding the core ( 12 ). Particularly, the core ( 12 ) comprising a plurality of optical fiber bundles ( 16 1 , 16 2 , 16 3 , . . . ) present in at least two concentric layers ( 18 1 , 18 2 , . . . ). Further, the plurality of optical fiber bundles ( 16 1 , 16 2 , 16 3 , . . . ) are held together by one or more core-binding elements ( 20 1 , 20 2 , . . . ) applied only to an outermost surface ( 22 ) of the core ( 12 ).

The present invention provides an optical fiber enclosure ( 102 ) with at least two compartments ( 206, 208 ), and each compartment comprises at least one cable port ( 120, 122, 124, 126 ). In particular, each compartment is configured to be accessed without disturbing relative alignment of optical fiber cables ( 602, 604 ) in other compartments of the optical fiber enclosure ( 102 ). Moreover, the optical fiber enclosure ( 102 ) includes at least one scissor wall ( 118 ) at an externally accessible surface of the optical fiber enclosure ( 102 ). Further, the at least one scissor wall ( 118 ) includes at least two segments ( 302, 304 ) configured to form at least one first set of cable ports ( 120, 122 ) at mating edges ( 318 - 332 ) in a closed configuration.

A telecommunication cable ( 100 ) including a plurality of twisted pairs ( 102 ) stranded helically around a cable axis, at least two tapes ( 104, 106 ) helically wrapped around the plurality of twisted pairs ( 102 ) such that that the at least two tapes ( 104, 106 ) overlap over the plurality of twisted pair ( 102 ), and a sheath ( 114 ) encapsulating the at least two tapes ( 104, 106 ) wrapped around the plurality of twisted pair ( 102 ). In particular, a ratio of first lay length of a first specific twisted pair to second lay length of a second specific twisted pair is in the range of 0.8 to 1.2. Furthermore, a ratio of first lay length of a first specific twisted pair to second lay length of a second specific twisted pair is in the range of 0.5 to 1.5.
