Systems and methods for electrically isolating a high voltage continuously producing power source. In one embodiment, a high voltage continuously producing power supplying system for supplying high voltage electrical power to an automotive system includes a plurality of components configured to supply the high voltage electrical power to the automotive system and a high voltage power controller configured to receive the high voltage electrical power from the plurality of components. The system further includes an electrical isolation device configured to electrically isolate at least one of the plurality of components. The high voltage power controller is configured to detect that a fault state of the automotive system has occurred and when the detected fault state is detected, the high voltage power controller is configured to trigger the electrical isolation device to disconnect the at least one of the plurality of components from the automotive system.

A transport power system is provided. The system includes a prime mover separate from a vehicle engine; a global positioning system (GPS) receiver configured to receive GPS data; and a controller configured to communicate with the prime mover and the GPS receiver. The controller is configured to determine an altitude of the transport power system with respect to sea level based on the GPS data received by the GPS receiver, determine a power output of the prime mover, adjust a power output upper limit for the prime mover based on the determined altitude, compare the power output of the prime mover and the adjusted power output upper limit, and operate the prime mover of the transport power system so as not to exceed the adjusted power output upper limit.

Systems and methods for simultaneous vapor and liquid injection for a transport climate control system are provided. The system includes a compressor, a condenser having a condensing unit and a sub-cooling unit, a receiver, an economizer having a vapor outlet and a liquid outlet, a controller, and a flow control device. The receiver is disposed downstream of the condensing unit and upstream of the sub-cooling unit. The economizer is disposed downstream of the sub-cooling unit. The compressor includes a suction port, a vapor injection port connected to the vapor outlet of the economizer, and a liquid injection port separated from the vapor injection port. The controller is configured to control the flow control device to adjust an amount of liquid refrigerant into the liquid injection port to maintain a discharge temperature of the compressor at or below a threshold.

A transport climate control system configured to provide climate control within a climate controlled space towed by a vehicle is provided. The transport climate control system includes an electrical isolation box configured to house and a drive module and a compressor. The drive module receives power from a vehicle power network including a rechargeable energy storage system (RESS) to power the compressor. The drive module and the compressor are electrically isolated at a climate control system electrical potential reference, which is different from an electrical potential reference of a vehicle chassis to which the electrical isolation box is connected.

The present disclosure relates to a method for heating a component using a system. The system includes a wound arrangement including at least one winding having an inductance, and at least two half-bridges. Each half-bridge is coupled to the wound arrangement. The wound arrangement is proximal to the component. The method includes performing a sequence of modulation cycles in which the half-bridges are controlled such that a voltage is applied to the winding during a plurality of drive stages of each modulation cycle, and a voltage is not applied to the winding during a plurality of non-drive stages of each modulation cycle.

The present disclosure relates to an electrical system comprising an active power converter, a filter, a DC power supply network and a controller. The filter has a cutoff frequency. The controller is configured to control the active power converter based on a control logic having a corner frequency. The corner frequency is equal to or greater than the cutoff frequency. The present disclosure further relates to a method of tuning a control logic of a controller configured to control a power converter coupled to a DC power supply network, the method comprising adjusting a gain of the control logic to reduce voltage oscillations on the DC power supply network below a cutoff frequency of the filter.

A method for predicting an impending climate control failure for a transport temperature control system (TCCS) is provided. The method includes a backend obtaining one or more operational parameters and/or one or more control parameters of transport temperature control systems including the TCCS. The method also includes obtaining warrantee data and/or service records for the transport temperature control systems. The method further includes training a machine learning model with the warrantee data and/or service records for the transport temperature control systems, and at least one of the operational parameters of the transport temperature control systems or the control parameters of the transport temperature control systems. Also the method includes deploying the trained machine learning model. The method further includes predicting the impending climate control failure for the TCCS based on the trained machine learning model, operational parameters of the TCCS, and/or control parameters of the TCCS.

A fault detection system for detecting a fault in a switch of a half-bridge of a circuit in a transport refrigeration system is provided. The fault detection system includes a voltage divider and processor circuitry. In use of the fault detection system, the voltage divider is coupled in parallel with a switch of a half-bridge of the circuit. An output of the voltage divider is coupled to an input of the processor circuitry. The processor circuitry is operative to compare a detection signal indicative of a voltage at the output of the voltage divider to a reference signal, and responsive to a determination that the detection signal does not correspond to the reference signal, output a fault detection signal.

A refrigeration system and a method of operating the same is described. The refrigeration system includes: an induction motor having a rotor; an electrical power source connected to the induction motor, wherein rotation of the rotor powers a load of the refrigeration system; and a controller. The controller is configured to: identify a predetermined threshold value of a parameter of the induction motor and a predetermined relationship associated with the induction motor between the parameter and a derating amount; determine the parameter of the rotor during rotation of the rotor; determine whether the determined parameter meets a first condition; upon determining that the first condition has been met, determine a derating amount based on the determined parameter and the predetermined relationship; and derate the one or more loads by the derating amount.

An embodiment of detecting a refrigerant leak in a climate control system includes (a) determining that the climate control system is in a deactivated and equalized state. In addition, the method includes (b) comparing an average pressure of a refrigerant of the climate control system to a saturated vapor pressure of the refrigerant at an average temperature within the climate control system, in response to (a). Further, the method includes (c) detecting a refrigerant leak based at least in part on (b).
