A method for providing form feedback is disclosed. An indication is received that, for a repetition of an exercise movement performed by a user: a first type of incorrect form has been detected with performing of the repetition of the exercise movement; and a second type of incorrect form has been detected with performing of the repetition of the exercise movement; wherein the first type and second type of incorrect form are detected based on sensor data collected from one or more hardware sensors. Respective first and second scores for the first and second types of incorrect form that have been detected are determined. An appropriate intervention to provide to the user based at least in part on the scoring is determined.

Detecting quality of use of an exercise machine includes detecting a path of an actuator over time during use of the exercise machine. It further includes characterize the path including generating at least one parameter associated with the path. It further includes comparing the at least one parameter associated with the detected path to a canonical parameter. Providing feedback on quality of use of an exercise machine includes determining a quality of a use of the exercise machine. The quality of the use of the exercise machine is determined based at least in part on a detected path of an actuator over time. It further includes performing an action that is based at least in part on the determined quality of the use of the exercise machine.

A strength training machine includes a first motor oriented at a first angle relative to a chassis. It further includes a second motor oriented at a second angle relative to the chassis. The first and second angles skew the motors with respect to each other.

Controlling an exercise machine includes receiving a stream of measurements of extension of a component of an exercise machine. It further includes characterizing the stream of measurements including detecting at least one extremum having at least one extremum parameter. It further includes matching the extremum parameter with a previously determined signature associated with a user. It further includes changing an output of the exercise machine based at least in part on the match.

An indication is received from a user to rack or unrack a digital weight. A motor is signaled to apply or remove tension to a cable coupled to the motor based at least in part on the indication. The actuator is connected to the cable and is physically arranged to deliver a force to the user. The motor selectively tensions a cable in accordance with an exercise program.

A time series of raw performance data samples pertaining to performing of a set of repetitions of a movement by a user is collected from a sensor. A set of features is generated from the collected time series of raw performance data samples, including by extracting one or more waveform shape features. The set of features, including the extracted one or more waveform shape features, is provided as input to a model that outputs an estimate of repetitions in reserve.

A time series of raw performance data samples pertaining to performing of a set of repetitions of a movement by a user is collected from a sensor. A set of features is generated from the collected time series of raw performance data samples, including by extracting one or more waveform shape features. The set of features, including the extracted one or more waveform shape features, is provided as input to a model that outputs an estimate of repetitions in reserve.

Torque that is requested of a motor to generate an experienced inertia different from a mechanical inertia of an actuator is adjusted, wherein the experienced inertia is a flywheel inertia model. In one embodiment, the motor provides resistance to the actuator. In one embodiment, the actuator is coupled to the motor.

During at least a portion of a user exercise movement in which an actuator velocity of an actuator is in an outward direction, an amount of torque that is requestable from a motor is increased based at least in part on the actuator velocity. The motor provides resistance to the actuator. The actuator is coupled to the motor.

A first set of performance information pertaining to a previous performance of a first exercise movement is received, the first set of performance information comprising a first weight, a first velocity, and a first range of motion. Target parameters for a target exercise movement based at least in part on the first set of performance information is predicted, wherein the target exercise movement is different from the first exercise movement. An exercise machine is configured to facilitate performing of the target exercise movement based at least in part on the predicted target parameters.
