An object of the present invention is to provide a cubic boron nitride sintered body and a coated cubic boron nitride sintered body both having excellent wear resistance and fracture resistance and being capable of extending a tool life, and a tool having the same. A cubic boron nitride sintered body containing cubic boron nitride and a binder phase, in which in a cross-sectional structure, content ratios of the cubic boron nitride and the binder phase fall within specific ranges, the binder phase includes an Al compound phase containing a specific compound and a Ti compound phase containing a specific compound, the Ti compound phase includes a composite compound phase containing a specific compound, a content ratio of the Al compound phase and a content ratio of the Ti compound phase based on a whole of the binder phase fall within specific ranges, and in a range from the interface between the cubic boron nitride and the binder phase to a distance of 300 nm toward the binder phase, a content ratio X2 of the composite compound phase based on a whole of the binder phase is larger than a content ratio X1 of the composite compound phase based on a whole of the binder phase.

Provided is a cutting insert in which cutting edges in a plurality of sections can be used, and it is possible to keep chips, which are discharged from a cutting edge in a section that is being used, from damaging an unused cutting edge in an adjacent section. An edge where an upper surface and a peripheral side surface intersect is divided into a plurality of sections AB, BC, CD, and so on. In each of the plurality of section, the section AB, for example, includes one minor cutting edge and one major cutting edge that is longer than the minor cutting edge. The major cutting edge is inclined at an angle α to be away from a lower surface gradually while extending away from the minor cutting edge. A height position of the upper surface in an up-down direction in which the upper surface and the lower surface oppose each other does not change as the upper surface extends toward the attachment hole, or the height position decreases in a direction from the upper surface toward the lower surface.

In a blade 100 in which a cutting insert 13 is attached to an insert attachment portion 12 provided at a longitudinal end part of a blade body 11 formed in a long plate shape, the blade body 11 includes a supply inlet 51 opened at one side surface, a lower discharge port 53 and an upper discharge port 54 that are opened at an end face nearby the insert attachment portion 12 , a lower coolant supply path 55 connecting the supply inlet 51 to the lower discharge port 53 , and an upper coolant supply path 56 connecting the supply inlet 51 to the upper discharge port 54 , and the lower coolant supply path 55 and the upper coolant supply path 56 each have a curved shape in a side view.

Provided is a tool head in a head replaceable cutting tool configured on the basis of a novel idea so as to allow external measurement to be easily performed, while allowing cutting performance to be maintained. The tool head in the head replaceable cutting tool has a substantially cylindrical shape, and can be fastened to a shank held on a machine tool, and moreover includes an insert mounting seat on which a cutting insert is to be detachably mounted, the tool head further including a point, a line, or a surface that defines a reference surface from which a cutting edge of the cutting insert has a predetermined length to a predetermined portion thereof.

A cutting tool with sufficient stiffness of a body is provided. A cutting tool 10 includes a body 100 in which a discharge groove 120 for guiding and discharging chips is formed, and a cutting insert 200 fastened and fixed on a distal end side of the body 100 . The cutting insert 200 includes a first surface 210 through which a through-hole 230 is opened, and a major cutting edge 231 formed so as to extend straight at an end part of the first surface 210 . A protrusion portion 130 protruding so as to cover part of the first surface 210 of the cutting insert 200 from outside is formed at the body 100 . A clearance hole 170 is formed so as to extend from a surface of the body 100 opposite the cutting insert 200 toward a corner cutting edge 242 when viewed from the distal end side along a central axis AX 1.

In order to easily disposed a projection by accurately inspecting and measuring (correcting) a position of the projection relative to the cutting edge, and to improve the chip control regardless the insert shape by optimizing the disposition of the projection, the present invention provides a cutting tool including: an upper surface; a lower surface; a side surface; a cutting edge including a pair of major cutting edges and a corner cutting edge; a first upper surface; a second upper surface; an inclined surface; a groove disposed in the second upper surface; and a first projection and a second projection which are formed to be projected from the inclined surface. The first projection extends on the groove along the extended line, and the second projection is disposed to be linearly symmetric with respect to the extended line. At an intersection between the corner cutting edge and the bisector in a top view, L1<L2 is established, where L1 is a distance from a virtual line intersecting perpendicularly to the bisector to a leading end of the first projection, and L2 is a distance from the virtual line to a leading end of the second projection.

The present disclosure provides a body of a cutting tool that machines a workpiece with a leading end cutting edge arranged on a leading end side and a peripheral cutting edge arranged on an outer periphery side, the body comprising: a first coolant flow path that is provided inside the body so as to extend from a base end toward a leading end; and a groove-like second coolant flow path that is provided on an outer periphery of the body so as to extend along a central axis.

Provided is a body capable of suppressing the bending of the body during machining. A body includes: a first attachment part serving as a portion that is provided on a leading end side and has a cutting edge mounted thereon; and a second attachment part serving as a portion that is provided at a position different from a position of the first attachment part along a circumferential direction and has a guide pad attached thereto on the leading end side. One discharging groove that extends from the leading end side to a base end side and is used to guide and discharge a fluid to the base end side is formed on an outer peripheral surface of the body, and at least a part of the discharging groove is bent.

A coated cutting tool including a substrate and a coating layer formed on the substrate, wherein the coating layer comprises an alternately laminated structure of a first layer and a second layer, the first layer contains a compound having a composition represented by (Al a M b Ti 1-a-b )N (M represents at least one of a Nb element and a Ta element, and 0.75≤a≤0.90 and 0.00<b≤0.20 are satisfied), the second layer contains a compound having a composition represented by (Al c M d Ti 1-c-d )N (M represents at least one of a Nb element and a Ta element, and 0.75≤c≤0.90 and 0.00≤d≤0.20 are satisfied), at least one of a and c is 0.80 or more, and the average thickness of the alternately laminated structure is 0.5 μm or more and 5.0 μm or less.

To provide a head capable of preventing complications of work procedures and increase in work hours to improve productivity by configuring a head-replaceable cutting tool for machining a workpiece. A cutting tool is a head-replaceable cutting tool having a shank and machining a workpiece, wherein a head comprises a mounting portion mounted to the shank, and a mounting hole to which a substantially rod-shaped cutting member is mounted. A central axis of the mounting hole is orthogonal to a fastening direction in which the head is fastened to the shank.
