A dynamic treatment system incorporates multiple pathogen reduction devices and sensors for enhanced pathogen reduction. The system can provide coordinated multi-level control to provide automated engineered control of pathogen reduction that is suitable for use in confined spaces, such as building and vehicle systems. Room level occupancy tracking provides biological load level estimates while pressure level sensing provides pathogen travel path estimation through the building. Combining this pathogen load information and airflow path information the system can drive room level and building level pathogen reduction device adjustments to enhance pathogen reduction based on expected pathogen travel. Zone level pathogen interception, height adjustable portable treatment devices, along with various application specific pathogen reduction devices can be integrated into the dynamic treatment system.

The system is available at a semiconductor level with sensors for enabling effective disinfection and human machine interface functions. UV transmissive material can assist in effective distribution of UV-C light for disinfection and visible light for feedback. A disinfection platform for at least partially disinfecting a proximal surface is provided. A disinfection apparatus includes a housing defining an aperture, a UV light source enclosed in the housing configured to project a UV illumination pattern toward a target disinfection area where the disinfection apparatus is disposed above one end and oriented at a downward angle. The illumination pattern output from the disinfection apparatus at least partially defined by louvers and an occlusion nose with reflective fins positioned at the aperture such that the illumination pattern at the target disinfection surface has improved intensity distribution. Multiple sensors cooperate with a control circuit operating the UV light source to provide intelligent and automated control with pattern detection, event based disinfection, and validation. Dual passive infrared sensors enable improved pattern detection for presence detection, accelerometer improves touch detection, and gyroscope provides attitude installation configuration.

A system for tracking the source of pathogens with a variable response and mitigation method utilizing a combination of UV, filtration, fans, communications and a control system. The control system monitors sensors that are indicative of pathogen propagation creating triggers and thresholds for a known measured response. The UV air treatment systems can generally include one or more UV air treatment fixtures as well as systems and methods for installing, operating, and maintaining the one or more UV air treatment fixtures. A disinfecting human interface device with monitoring and safety enhancement system that utilizes user detection and sensors to detect proximity and is designed to provide user feedback on safety, disinfection and decorative lighting. A disinfectant transmissive material incorporated into a case for a mobile device or a supporting surface of a disinfecting charger to enable disinfection of hard-to-reach areas. The case can be self-disinfecting. The disinfecting charger can have monitoring and safety systems that detect proximity and provide user feedback on safety, disinfection, and charge status along with automatic interlocks to protect the user from overexposure to disinfectant.

Disclosed herein are embodiments of an illuminator for disinfecting a surface. The surface defines a first plane. The illuminator includes a line emitter configured to emit light in a continuous line along at least a portion of at least one edge of the surface. The light has a peak wavelength in a range of 100 nm to 400 nm. The illuminator also includes a curved reflector surface and an exit aperture defining a second plane transverse to the first plane. The line emitter is positioned between the curved reflector surface and the exit aperture, and the curved reflector surface is configured to redirect the light from the line emitter through the exit aperture across the surface.
