Antenna array systems and methods for radar transmission using Doppler Division Multiplexing (DDM), where a unique, linearly varying phase rate is applied to each of a plurality of simultaneously transmitting antennas. The resulting signals may be processed to generate a Doppler map, and ghost artifacts inherent in the DDM process may be suppressed through methods comprising iterative masking or using an alternating Pulse-Repetition-Interval between frames. DDM code mitigates overlap in the Doppler-bins for a single target after applying DDM-decoding. Large antenna-arrays can be supported by hybrid transmitters-multiplexing by DDM multiplexing between groups of beamformed antennas.

Methods for improving high frequency transmission in printed circuit boards use the smooth internal interfaces between the conducting laminate and dielectric substrates of PCB cores to serve as signal carrying lines and ground planes in transmission lines. Flanking PCB cores may be mounted to a central dielectric layer including a stripped PCB core providing structural integrity of the PCB.

Antenna array systems and methods for generating an antenna array transmission pattern having a spatial directional distribution of effective power characterized by a low Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR). An excitation phase sequence is generated having elements corresponding antenna elements of the array and having a Fourier Transform with a low PAPR. An excitation phase is assigned to each antenna element according to the corresponding element of the excitation phase sequence.

Systems and methods for detecting living bodies in vehicles and generating alerts only if a child is detected. A radar detection system uses vehicle vibration, temporal behavior analysis and spatial characteristics modules to detect false positives by analyzing image data over time and space to distinguish between real children and other similar voxel clusters within the radar images.

A system for simulating quadrature phase-shift key (QPSK) beam forming in an antenna array, including a transmitter configured and operable to generate an oscillating signal, an antenna array, a binary phase shifter associated with each transmitting antenna, the binary phase shifter configured and operable to selectively apply a phase shift of 180 degrees to the transmitted signal, and a controller configured to send instructions to the binary phase shifters, at least one receiving antenna, and a post processor comprising a memory operable to save received signals and a processing unit operable to apply a 90 degree phase shift to selected received signals stored in the memory, and further operable to sum received signals stored in the memory, operable to manipulate received signals.

A system for generating a three dimension (3D) imaging of an object, the system comprising: an electromagnetic transducer array such as an RF (radio-frequency) antenna array surrounding the object said array comprising: a plurality of electromagnetic transducers; a transmitter unit for applying RF signals to said electromagnetic transducer array; and a receiver unit for receiving a plurality of RF signals affected by said object from said electromagnetic transducers array; a Radio Frequency Signals Measurement Unit (RFSMU) configured to receive and measure said plurality of plurality of affected RF signals and provide RF data of the object; and at least one processing unit, configured to process said RF data to identify the dielectric properties of said object and construct a 3D image of said object.

An elevator monitoring system and method includes cabin-based radars monitor doors and passengers within a cabin; waiting zone radars monitor passengers in a waiting zone; a central processor analyzes data from the various monitors and executes an elevator control function to control the elevator system. The door state is determined by detecting reflections from internal angles within the cabin and a door management system manages door operation safely by monitoring a proximal zone around the automatic door, detecting moving objects and obstructions.

Target monitoring and alert systems for identifying and tracking targets within radar data. Raw frame data is filtered to remove data relating to reflections from static objects. Moving targets are identified in the filtered data and their location is tracked over time generating target data. Neural networks may process the target data, calculate a fall likelihood score and generate a fall-alert if this is above an alert-threshold. A person identification module may extract the position and motion characteristics of each target from the data and generate a probabilistic identification of the target with a person.

Radar systems and methods for imaging concealed surfaces. A processor receives raw data from the radar and executes an image data generation. A display unit displays an image representing the concealed surface. The radar unit may be incorporated in a handheld scanner, a walkthough scanner, an underfoot scanner, an overhead scanner or the like. Dimensions of the scanning unit may be selected to enable a full body scan of a subject.

Radar systems and methods for imaging surfaces. A processor receives raw data from the radar and executes an image data generation. A display unit displays an image representing the targeted surface. The radar unit may be incorporated in a handheld scanner. Rectangular antenna arrays may be configured and processors may be operable such that the image data generated may be processed and displayed in real time.
