A modular, wearable sensor and drug administration device is disclosed. The device includes removable modules such as sensors and drug administration apparatuses within a single wearable device. The device may be comfortable and modules may be easily removed and replaced. The sensors and drug administration devices may be used in concert to monitor and administer drug to a patient. Such a device may improve a patient's quality of life.

Systems and methods are provided for a dual needle apparatus configured to couple to a reservoir of a syringe assembly with a luer lock fitting. The dual needle apparatus may include at least a first needle and a second needle, the first needle longer than the second needle. The first needle may be configured to deliver insulin from the reservoir to the interior of a medication bladder when inserted into the medication bladder. The second needle may be configured to release air or insulin from the medication bladder to an external environment responsive the pressure caused by insulin delivery through the first needle.

The disease management system can determine a measurement of one or more physiological parameters and can determine a disease event based on the one or more measurements. Furthermore, the disease management system can determine a pose of an individual using a pose sensor. Based on an identification of a disease event and a determination that the pose of the individual corresponds to a first pose, the disease management system can cause at least one of an audible, visual, or vibratory alarm. Based on an identification of a disease event and a determination that the pose of the individual does not correspond to the first pose, the disease management system can cause administration of a medication to the individual.

A modular disease management system may provide medication management for a patient. The system may include a base configured to at least partially couple to a tissue site of a patient. The system may further include a medication bladder coupled to the base and configured to maintain medication. The system may further include a medication pump coupled to the medication bladder, comprising a conduit and muscle wire-actuated plungers, wherein the medication pump is configured to cause the medication to flow from the medication bladder through the conduit. The system may further include a cannula insertion device coupled to the medication pump via the conduit, wherein the cannula insertion device comprises a cannula, a spring, and a triggering component, wherein the cannula insertion device is configured to insert the cannula into the tissue site of the patient by actuation of the spring released by the triggering component.

The present disclosure includes a handheld processing device including medical applications for minimally and noninvasive glucose measurements. In an embodiment, the device creates a patient specific calibration using a measurement protocol of minimally invasive measurements and noninvasive measurements, eventually creating a patient specific noninvasive glucometer. Additionally, embodiments of the present disclosure provide for the processing device to execute medical applications and non-medical applications.
