When a loan payment failure occurs, a loan server can retry a payment from a client's financial institution sources rather than immediately charging the client for the payment failure. The payment retry is scheduled on a Friday that is at least three days after the payment failure. If a payment failure from the financial institution sources to the loan server occurs between a Friday and the following Monday the payment retry by the loan server to the financial institution sources will occur on the first following Friday and if the payment failure occurs on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, the payment retry will occur on the second following Friday which is the Friday of the following week from the failure date.

A method of processing a customer transaction may include receiving an indication of a transaction between a customer and a vendor, checking an account status of a primary account of the customer at a customer bank, and determining, within a predetermined time of the indication, whether to accept or decline the transaction based on the account status. A method for providing a voluntary down payment interface in association with a financing offer may include providing, to a remote device of a customer in association with a transaction between a merchant and the customer, an indication of a financing offer associated with a loan, providing, on a same page or screen of the remote device as the indication of the financing offer, a selectable option to display a down payment selector interface for making the voluntary down payment, responsive to the selectable option being selected, displaying the down payment selector interface, and, responsive to the selectable option not being selected, hiding or not displaying the down payment selector interface.

A method of matching transactions to a loan includes receiving a transaction notification associated with customer use of a payment instrument having a persistent PAN for a transaction with a merchant, facilitating payment of the merchant on behalf of the customer in response to the transaction notification, executing a loan matching algorithm with respect to the transaction notification to determine whether to associate the transaction with an existing loan, responsive to the loan matching algorithm determining that the transaction is one of a plurality of transactions of a common purchase event associated with the existing loan, considering the existing loan as a matched loan, modifying the matched loan to include the transaction, responsive to not determining that the transaction is one among the plurality of transactions of the common purchase event, issuing a new loan for the customer based on the transaction, and facilitating servicing the new or modified loan.

A method for providing an interface for user controlled loan repayment may include receiving, from a remote device of a customer, a request to initiate a modification activity with respect to a loan, determining a list of modification activities applicable to the loan and the customer, the list of modification activities including a first modification activity and a second modification activity, wherein at least one of the first modification activity or the second modification activity includes a request to change repayment parameters associated with the loan, providing instructions to the remote device to display the list of modification activities, receiving a selected modification activity from the remote device, and recording updated loan terms based on the selected modification activity.
