A distal stabilizer 1 is used to deliver a catheter in a biological lumen, and comprises: a linear delivery member 3 ; and a cylindrical part 2 that extends from the distal end of the linear delivery member 3 and is locked to an inner wall of the biological lumen. The cylindrical part 2 has a structure in which cells 20 in shapes surrounded by wire-like members are arrayed in a longitudinal direction, and is configured such that: the surface area of the cylindrical part 2 in an expanded-diameter state is 5-20% of the surface area of a virtual cylinder with identical dimensions in the longitudinal direction and in a radial direction; the expansive force per unit length in a contracted-diameter state with an external diameter of 1.5 mm is 0.015-0.06 N/mm; and the expansive force per unit length in a contracted-diameter state with an external diameter of 0.42 mm is 0.1-0.3 N/mm.

This distal stabilizer used for catheter delivery in a biological lumen comprises a linear delivery member and a cylindrical part that extends from the distal end of the linear delivery member and that latches to the inner wall of the biological lumen. The cylindrical part has a structure in which cells 20 of a form surrounded by wire-shaped members are lined up along the long axis direction. At least one of the cells is an open cell having at least one free convex end 23 . In the open cell, the wire-shaped member 22 a that, from among the wire-shaped members forming the free convex end 23 , extends in the direction in which the cells are lined up is disposed so as to be substantially parallel to the wire-shaped member 22 c of another cell adjacent in the lateral direction with respect to the direction in which the cells are lined up.

A catheter system usable for treating a treatment site within or adjacent to a vessel wall of a blood vessel or a heart valve within a body of a patient, the catheter system can include an energy source that generates energy, a catheter that includes an energy guide that receives the energy from the energy source, and a system console that is wirelessly couplable to the catheter so that one of data and power can be exchanged between the system console and the catheter.

A catheter system configured to use a guidewire lumen, includes an energy source, a first energy guide, and a first emitter station including a first station housing. The energy source generates first energy. The first energy guide receives the first energy from the energy source. The first energy guide has a first guide distal end. The first station housing has (a) a first housing base configured to be secured at least partially about the guidewire lumen, (b) a first guide retainer that extends away from the first housing base, the first guide retainer being configured to selectively receive and retain the first guide distal end of the first energy guide, and (c) a first corresponding plasma target that is spaced apart from the first guide retainer. The first housing base, the first guide retainer, and the first corresponding plasma target are integrally formed with one another.

Example catheter systems and methods for using catheter systems are disclosed. An example catheter system for treating a treatment site within or adjacent to a vessel wall or heart valve includes an energy source, a catheter including an energy guide configured to receive energy from the energy source, a system controller coupled to the energy source and a graphical user interface in communication with the system controller. Further, the graphical user interface is configured to display operational information corresponding to the operation of one or more components of the catheter system. Further, the graphical user interface is configured to communicate with the system controller to control the operation of the one or more components of the catheter system.

A protective sleeve ( 229 ) for protecting a balloon ( 204 ) of an intravascular lithotripsy catheter system ( 200 ) only prior to the balloon ( 204 ) being positioned within a body ( 107 ) of a patient ( 109 ), includes a sleeve body ( 229 B) that is configured to be removably positioned about the balloon ( 204 ). The sleeve body ( 229 B) includes a sleeve proximal end ( 229 P) and a sleeve distal end ( 229 D). The sleeve body ( 229 B) includes a tapered region ( 264 C) having a tapered diameter ( 262 V) that decreases in a direction from the sleeve proximal end ( 229 P) toward the sleeve distal end ( 229 D).

Provided is a distal stabilizer that can mitigate the scattering of foreign matter from a locking stent to the distal side. A distal stabilizer 1 is used for catheter delivery in a body lumen, and includes: a linear delivery member 3 ; and a self-expanding member 2 that is linked to the distal end of the linear delivery member 3 , and that has a cylindrical body section 11 locked inside the body lumen. The body section 11 includes a filter unit 17 constituted of a wire member 14 that protrudes towards the center in a radial direction RD from the circumferential side.

Provided is a distal stabilizer capable of suppressing a positional misalignment of a cylindrical part locked in a biological lumen. This distal stabilizer 1 , used for catheter delivery in a biological lumen, comprises: a linear delivery member; and a cylindrical part 2 which extends from a distal end of the linear delivery member and locked to the inner wall of the biological lumen by means of a mesh pattern structure, wherein the cylindrical part 2 has, on the proximal side in the range of the effective length thereof, an easily deformable section 14 which more easily deforms than the distal side of the cylindrical part.

A catheter system ( 100 ) for treating a treatment site ( 106 ) within or adjacent to a vessel wall ( 108 ) or heart valve includes a balloon ( 104 ) having a balloon length ( 204 L). The balloon ( 104 ) is configured to be movable between an inflated state ( 135 ) and a deflated state. The balloon ( 104 ) includes (i) a balloon proximal region ( 250 ), (ii) a balloon distal region ( 254 ), and (iii) a balloon transition region ( 252 ). The balloon proximal region ( 250 ) has a balloon proximal end ( 204 P) and a substantially constant balloon proximal region diameter ( 256 ) while the balloon ( 104 ) is in the inflated state ( 135 ). The balloon distal region ( 254 ) has a balloon distal end ( 104 D), and a substantially constant balloon distal region diameter ( 262 ) while the balloon ( 104 ) is in the inflated state ( 135 ). The balloon distal region diameter ( 262 ) is different than the balloon proximal region diameter ( 256 ). The balloon transition region ( 252 ) has a balloon transition region diameter ( 260 ) that varies. The balloon transition region ( 252 ) is positioned between the balloon proximal region ( 250 ) and the balloon distal region ( 254 ).

A catheter system ( 100 ) for treating a treatment site ( 106 ) within or adjacent to a vessel wall ( 108 A) of a blood vessel ( 108 ), or within or adjacent to a heart valve, includes an energy source ( 124 ) and a system controller ( 126 ). The energy source ( 124 ) generates a plurality of energy pulses. The system controller ( 126 ) includes a processor that controls the energy source ( 124 ). The system controller ( 126 ) is configured to implement an energy control algorithm to control both of (i) a pulse frequency of the plurality of energy pulses, and (ii) an energy level for each of the plurality of energy pulses that are generated by the energy source ( 124 ). As the pulse frequency of the plurality of energy pulses increases, the energy level for each of the plurality of energy pulses decreases.
