An ostomy pouch, comprises: inner and outer walls of flexible sheet material defining a cavity for containing stomal output; a deployable drain for draining stomal output from the cavity; and at least one sheet of comfort material comprising a hot-melt adhesive coating. The first sheet of comfort material is attached to the outer wall and at least a portion of the first sheet of comfort material forms a flap. The flap is configured to cover the deployable drain when the drain is in a retracted position.

The invention relates to an ostomy pouch 10 . The pouch 10 includes inner and outer walls 18 b, 20 b of flexible sheet material which sealed about a periphery. The walls 18 b, 20 b define a cavity for containing a stomal output and a drain 32 for draining stomal output from the cavity. An opaque comfort layer 18 a, 20 a is provided, at over an outer surface of the inner and/or outer walls 18 b, 20 b . The drain 32 is moveable between a deployed position for draining the stomal output from the cavity and a stowed position for storage of the drain 32 , with at least part of the drain 32 overlying a portion of the comfort layer 18 a, 20 a in the stowed position. The drain 32 is substantially opaque on one side, and at least partly transparent on an opposing side.

An ostomy pouch includes a sheet of woven comfort material. The sheet of woven comfort material has an outside surface and an opposite inside surface. The outside surface of the sheet of woven comfort material forms at least part of the outside surface of the pouch, and at least part of the inside surface of the sheet of woven comfort material is coated with a web of hot-melt adhesive. A method of forming a sheet of comfort material for an ostomy pouch involves coating one side of a sheet of woven comfort material with a web of hot-melt adhesive to provide an inside surface comprising the coating. The web comprises a mass with a plurality of voids therein.

An ostomy appliance comprising an inner wall and an outer wall that define a cavity for containing a stomal output, the ostomy appliance having an upper section, a lower section and a waisted section that is located between the upper section and the lower section. The upper section has a maximum width (A) that is greater than a maximum width (B) of the lower section and the waisted section has a minimum width (C) that is less than the maximum width (B) of the lower section. The waisted section has a left-hand edge that is smoothly rounded and a right-hand edge that is smoothly rounded, and both the left-hand edge and the right-hand edge smoothly blend, respectively, into left-hand edges and right-hand edges of the upper section and the lower section.

The invention relates to an ostomy pouch 10 . The pouch 10 includes an inner wall 18 b and an outer wall 20 b sealed about at least part of the periphery thereof to define a cavity for containing a stomal output. The cavity includes an upper section 12 and a lower section 14 . A waisted section 13 is located between the upper section 12 and the lower section 14 . A filter system is provided which includes a vent 30 in the outer wall of the pouch 10 for the release of gas from within the cavity to outside of the pouch 10 ; and a pre-filter arrangement comprising a protective panel 54 which defines a filter chamber 56 about the vent, and into which stomal output may enter, in use.

The invention relates to an ostomy pouch 10, 110 . The pouch 10, 110 comprises an inner wall 18 b, 118 b and an outer wall 20 b, 120 b sealed about at least part of the periphery thereof to define a cavity for containing a stomal output. An inlet 22, 122 is provided into the cavity for receiving stomal output from an ostomate, in use. The cavity comprises multiple sections 12, 14, 16; 112, 114, 116 separated by waisted sections 13, 15; 113, 115 . The maximum width of the sections 12, 14, 16; 112, 114, 116 has a greater width than a minimum width of the waisted section(s) 13, 15; 113, 115.

The present invention relates to a method ( 10 ) and control system ( 100 ) for monitoring operation of a pressure gradient wound therapy apparatus ( 200 ). A parameter indicative of a rate of change of pressure within the applied wound dressing ( 202 ) is measured, and a rate of change of pressure within the applied wound dressing ( 202 ) in is determined in dependence on the measured parameter. The rate of change of pressure corresponds to a leak level and is used to control the wound therapy apparatus ( 200 ) in accordance with one or more predetermined actions such that an appropriate action is taken for a given leak level.

A wound dressing for pressure gradient wound therapy. The wound dressing includes a dressing body and an adhesive layer. The adhesive layer provides an adhesive region for providing a seal between the wound dressing and the periphery of a wound site, in use. The present disclosure provides a coupling assembly ( 12 ) for an ostomy appliance ( 10 ) comprising a locking arrangement ( 60 ), a first coupling and a second coupling. The locking arrangement ( 60 ) comprises a locking ring ( 61 ) and first and second grips ( 70, 71 ) mounted to the locking ring ( 61 ). The locking ring ( 61 ) is mounted to first and/or second coupling, forms an inner circumference ( 62 ) and is adjustable between locked and unlocked configurations. In the locked configuration the locking ring ( 61 ) is for maintaining the first and second couplings ( 20, 40 ) in a coupled configuration and the inner circumference ( 62 ) is less than in the unlocked configuration. The first and second grips ( 70, 71 ) are positioned about the locking ring ( 61 ) to be moveable towards one another to increase the inner circumference ( 62 ) and adjust the locking ring ( 61 ) from the locked configuration to the unlocked configuration.
